Hunting

"Wake up little one, it's already daylight"

With his grandmother's words, Sven got up from his makeshift bed.

During the night he was able to recall the moments before he passed out in front of the grave.

— I must get out of here soon and tell my grandparents that I'm fine, they must be worried—

Taking the bag of food envelopes he opened two of them and breakfast.

Although dim, several rays of light filtered through the ceiling of the room, improving the visibility of the place.

Before he started unlocking the entrance, Sven started doing muscle stretches so that he wouldn't feel sore afterward.

At first, the door began to give rapidly, but after twenty minutes the metal tube broke creating a small cave-in.

— What is this?—

When the dust settled, from the opening of the door several vines fell into the room, but the color of them was not green, but a pale gray.

Checking out the strangeness of the plants, Sven took the sharp part of the broken metal tube and cut through the vines.

The inside of them was still gray, but part of it was green.

— I think if he managed to remove all these plants I could get out of here—

For two hours, hundreds of different plants were cut with a makeshift blade that Sven had created.

Among the plants Sven was able to recognize some with edible fruits, such as blueberries, blackberries and other smaller ones.

—It seems that there is still enough to leave behind these plants—

Returning to the living room, Sven cleared a shelf and arranged the fruits he found.

After eating some of them, he returned to clear an exit until he achieved that he was close to it, but due to the little amount of light he decided to rest one more day before leaving.

In the middle of the night, a feline was speeding through the forest, every time he rose the leaves of the trees a bloodstain was left behind.

After running a long distance, added to the loss of blood, he lost his balance crashing against the trunk of a thorn tree.

Under the shade of the hawthorn, a panther was stunned by the impact, on its legs two claw marks pierced its thighs revealing part of its bones.

The panther, when he regained consciousness, tried to get up, but did not have the strength to do so.

Looking at the wounds on his thigh, the panther revealed a pained expression and tried to hide under the leaves of the trees.

After a few minutes the panther regained its calm, and licked its wound cleaning the blood, but sensing something strange in the environment, it looked up, only to find a shadow of more than five meters of wingspan next to two sharp claws that extended towards her body.

In a desperate impulse the panther used all the strength of its hind legs trying to avoid the claws, but could not prevent them from ripping much of its back.

When the bird in the sky saw her annoying prey, it threw itself on it when it saw that it was no longer moving, with its claws piercing the cat's skin and lifting it up in the air, taking it to its nest.

Happy for his hunt, the bird gave a squawk that scared all the small predators under the cover of the forest.

— Was that a raven? I've never heard such a loud squawk—

The squawk that scared all the animals managed to lift Sven up, but when he didn't hear that sound again he went back to sleep to have strength in the morning.

For the rest of the night there was no movement until morning came.

After eating some fruit, Sven took the blade and began to clear the way. With each movement of his arm several plants fell covering the ground.

Seeing that more and more light was reaching his location, Sven used more strength to leave that place.

With one last slash he managed to make a large exit opening and was amazed at what he saw, although he already had an idea of all the exotic plants that he cut.

As he stood on the exit he looked at him in all directions, managing to see the same landscape between a greenish gray to a more metallic tone.

— Where am I?—

Nowhere could part of human civilization be visualized, only an extensive forest appeared as far as the eye could see.

The strangest thing was that the entire sky was covered by a large gray cloud, leaving few rays of light to pass through its surface.

The first thought that crossed Sven's mind was the safety of his grandparents, but that thought was cut off by two figures running in the distance.

Something Sven was happy about was the sight of him, with it he identified the creatures in the distance.

They were two wolves with a metallic blue fur, both seemed to chase another strange figure, but this one got lost in the forest next to the wolves.

This gave Sven a warning, this forest is not safe, if there are wolves there must be more dangerous beasts.

Without making much noise Sven returned to the place that I consider his refuge, entering he covered the entrance and began to meditate on the information he obtained.

First, he was no longer in his city and no human construction could be seen for several kilometers away, so he can't wait for help at the moment.

Second, in the forest there are several animals, many of which endanger his safety, so he must find ways to defend himself.

Third, he does not know how long it had been since he lost consciousness in the cemetery, thinking of the latter he looked in the direction of the coffins and sharpened his eyes as if he noticed something.

Getting up, he walked over to a concrete block and lifted it up with his hands. Approaching one of the coffins, he smashed the concrete against the glass surface, breaking the cover.

Watching the pieces of glass fall to the ground, he finally could see inside.

Covered by a medical gown, a skeleton lay inside the glass coffin, next to it were the two empty injections.

— How long was I actually asleep?—

Taking his face she was able to realize something, his hair reached halfway to her waist and his beard covered most of his face.

Faced with his new appearance, he couldn't calculate the time he spent asleep, but he thought he should at least cut his hair.

Taking his blade next to a piece of reflective glass he cut his hair to avoid being disturbed when I went through the forest.

Sven wanted to cut his beard, but he had no water, so I waited until he got a safe source, he didn't want to get an infection in such a dangerous place.

Exploring the shelter, Sven concentrated his attention towards the other locked door, the place where he was seemed to be the underground part of a building, if he managed to unlock it he could get something that would give him more security to leave that place.

Remembering the fruits he got, Sven walked to the exit to gather some more in case he couldn't get out.

Upon reaching the exit he noticed several blood stains near him, following the tracks after a few minutes he could see an injured animal that was breathing heavily.

Even though Sven had never seen a boar in person, he would never think it was taller than 4 meters.

When the boar saw the human approaching it, it was surprised not to recognize it as a native of that forest, but still he tried to scare it so that it would not approach.

Seeing how aggressive the boar was, Sven stepped back and went to look for his blade to take the life of the animal, but when he returned he heard several biting sounds.

With caution, he began to advance avoiding making noise, but when he managed to see the corpse of the wild boar he could only find two legs of the animal, everything else had been devoured and he could not see the diners anywhere.

– At least they left me something—

With that thought, he took both legs and carried them to the shelter, each of them weighed more than forty kilograms.

— If I had, salt I shouldn't worry about food, just how to get water—

Separating the skin from the meat, Sven looked for something to cook the meat, the good thing was that in his shelter there were several pieces of dry wood to light the fire.

Watching the meat take on another color under the fire, Sven threw some leaves that were edible on the meat.

After a few hours, lying on his bed, Sven went to sleep thinking about how he got to that place and how his relatives were.

In the middle of the night, two wolves watched the smoke rising over the forest, revealing a vicious gaze at the thought of its origin.
