The balance of the world collapsed when portals opened up to different worlds. Humans were granted systems to hunt the beasts in the Otherworlds. These beasts could give the Hunters their Codes, granting them special abilities and weapons.

In this world, Allen was born with an incurable disease that rendered his throat unable to utter words. He could only produce hissing sounds that made the other Hunters to bully him relentlessly.

He was the freak without a family.

But his world had shifted when he accidentally killed the lost beast and gained its Code. The Code of the Primordial Snake, one of the strongest beasts of the Otherworlds.

Unless Liam had a Code in him that allowed him to suppress Allen's instincts, then he was telling the truth.

Allen wanted to fall back in despair after he lost all hope to find the justice for Roger Huntsman's victims.

"If it's not you, then who?" Allen repeated. "There can only be one Roger Huntsman and he should've been the leader of Barandilla, no one else."

"That's what I think so too if I was in your position," Liam said. "But please also consider how big of a power gap the Bearers have against me. I don't even know if I could win against Kenneth."

While he was still skeptical, Allen had no choice but to agree with Liam. The Bearers did have power levels that exceeded everyone else and it wasn't really that easy to catch up to them even when the race towards Star Nest almost has its winner."

"And you believe in everything that he said?" Jeremy sighed. "Allen, you have a knack for trusting people easily."
