Stat Experiments

Lukas sat on his bed for a moment staring at the screen. 'This title is so overpowered. 1000 exp should have only gotten me a quarter past level 3. Instead my level shot all the way to 7. Not to mention I get triple the amount of stat points.' He shook his head softly as he put his hand on the metal rail on the footboard of his bed. As he pushed himself up he unintentionally squeezed the railing and then jumped back in surprise again as he looked down at it. Where his hand had been, the railing was now bent and twisted in the form of his fingers. He put his hand up in the air and stared at it in shock. 'I can bend steel with just my grip now.' Lukas stood up off his bed and put one hand underneath it before lifting up. What felt kind-of heavy earlier in the day now felt as light as a feather and with only one hand. 'Does each stat really affect me that much?'

At this moment, something caught the corner of Lukas' eye. He turned his head and as he did he watched a fly move from one side of his apartment to the other. Watching it carefully, he noticed something strange... The fly seemed to be moving in slow motion. Every time it changed directions, Lukas was able to watch it change and predict where it was going next. Then something even weirder happened. The more he focused on the fly, the more his vision seemed to zoom in on it. He even began to see each individual flap of its wings. 'So, this is an increased perception stat. I have a higher focus, and I can see things most people would never be able to see. It seems as though my actual vision has gotten better too.' Lukas remembered that in his past life he had to get glasses two years after the game had come out because his vision had started to worsen. 'It seems as though that won't be an issue now.' Lukas looked back towards his stats.

'Intelligence raises my magic power, and my MP. But, I'm curious if it raises my actual intelligence too. I know it's not just gonna put random information in my head, but I wonder if it helps with memory recall, learning speeds, and other things related to intelligence.' Lukas looked around his room for something related to learning, an old school book, an instruction manual, or something of that nature. That's when Lukas spotted his "Blacksmithing for Dummies" book. 'Well, I guess that will have to do.' Lukas started to walk over to it, or at least tried to. When he took the first step, his body moved far faster than he had anticipated and he rushed forward and slammed into the shelf with all of his books, and miscellaneous things on it. The next thing Lukas knew, he was on his back on the ground and there were books falling towards him. Thanks to his perception skill, they seemed to be falling in slow motion though, and he reached up and plucked them one by one out of the air until all of the books had been safely out on the ground. 'Well, there's the agility stat.' Lukas laughed aloud as he stood up slowly.

'So, I suppose now, I'm going to have to actively control my speed and strength at all times, so I don't freak people out when I'm moving or doing things.' Lukas took a step with care and focused on walking around his apartment at a normal pace. 'I think I got it now.' He walked over to where his books are and decided to see if he could keep up with his full agility stat. He started grabbing books faster than he ever thought possible and putting them away on the shelf. He chose not to stop there and took about 2 minutes to clean up his entire apartment at superhuman speeds. 'Wow, this is incredible.' He looked down at his hands. 'Okay, the only stats left are stamina and intelligence. Obviously they increase my HP and MP but, do they have any extra bonuses…' Lukas thought for a second. 'Ah! Stamina obviously does. With everything I just did, at the speed that I did it. I absolutely should have been winded, but I don't feel tired at all. Honestly, I still feel like I could do it again, but for a lot longer.' Lukas grinned. 'I should be able to complete my dailies a lot easier now.' Lukas smiled at his new found luck. 'Speaking of which, my Luck stat didn't have a plus next to it… Does that mean it's a static stat, or maybe that it needs specific criteria to go up? Well, no need to worry about it now since I can't do anything about it.'

Lukas walked over to his book shelf again, and got another huge surprise as he picked up his 'Blacksmithing For Dummies' book. A new window popped up in his vision.

[Skill Book Confirmed]

[Would you like to learn Intermediate Blacksmithing Lv 1]

[Y/N]

Lukas looked at the window in awe for a moment. 'I can learn skills just by picking up books?' Lukas looked again and mentally clicked yes.

[Learning time calculating…]

[Learning time: 11 minutes]

[Learning time reduced by INT]

[Learning time: 3min 18sec ]

[18… 17…16.…]

'So, my learning speed for new skills is influenced by how much intelligence I have and the difficulty of the skill. And each point in INT reduces the learning time by 10 seconds. But, what about regular learning?' Lukas looked at his book shelf and saw an old history book of Aclaitia, which was the 3rd country to join the League of Nations following the Cyprus War, and the country Lukas currently resided in. Lukas put down his Blacksmithing book and picked up the history book. 'Time to see if intelligence actually helps.'
