Who is Paisely

Cross ended up getting in trouble after killing the teachers sent by the kingdom. I assume they believed that he was on their side instead of the academy's because he was an upcoming duke. They charged him with murder, but it didn't matter since they had attacked a student in the academy and there was over a hundred witnesses. And since Viv wasn't officially a student, nothing happened to her for killing the other two teachers. Whom for some reason, were all weak to begin with. If the kingdom was going to send spies, why not send some competent ones?

I knew Cera was involved in killing the higher ups, but since they don't know it's her doing, they're trying to figure out why supporters of the kingdom keep dying. I don't fully understand why Cera is doing this either as she has done enough for the academy already. I think she should stop. Maybe I'll tell her when I get home.

But frankly, I'm more surprised she's able to do this every day. She's getting stronger and stronger and I can't seem to catch up. I train every day and I'm still unable to catch up to her. I expect nothing less from my perfect wife.

As I was idling in my own fantasies, Viv shook me.

"My lady, there's new teachers coming again today, pay attention."

Since the teachers from yesterday didn't work out, apparently the kingdom sent new ones and they were more much level headed. They didn't cause a scene and simply followed the rules. I wasn't challenged so I was a bit disappointed, but the students around were still a little worried.

They introduced the teachers, but it didn't matter for our class since we already had teacher.

Not only that, but ours was good at teaching spell usage. I wasn't quite learning it as it was difficult for me to do precision increments with my volatile Alm. I'm good at destroying things. When it comes precise Alm management, I'm not very good. Which is what spells mainly consist of. I wasn't failing the class, but I wasn't doing great.

"Viv, this is difficult." I whispered to Viv.

I kept trying to make an Alm seal of my own, but it was impossible. I have no idea how Cera does it. I keep adding way too much power and it breaks the spell.

I eventually failed the test and we went to lunch.

I had my head on the table because I was tired from the test.

"Viv, I hate school." I complained to Viv, whom had passed.

"My lady, don't worry, I'm sure you'll get it next time." Said Cross.

"Yes, you should be fine if you practice a little more." Said Viv.

That was when Paisely came with two of the new teachers behind her.

"Sorry, I didn't want to come intrude with this going on." She pointed.

"What's wrong, are they bothering you?" I asked.

"These two are servants of my family and my father decided to have them follow me around for protection.

Wow, I didn't know she had such an influential family. To be able to send two teachers that belong to the kingdom and belong to her family. But does that mean she also supports the kingdom? I wonder if Cera already attacked her family. I began feeling conflicted.

"I didn't know you supported the kingdom, lady Paisely." Said Cross without any shame.

"I don't." She replied.

Then both the teachers glared at Cross. Sparks flying in the air. I didn't want them making a scene during lunch so I tried to change the topic.

"Anyway, how'd you do on the seal test?"

"I got a perfect score." Wow.

I didn't know she would be so precise with her Alm. Now that I think about it, I've never seen her fight. Huh?

"Paisely, are you actually super strong?" She's always around me and I don't think she has ever fought in the class training sessions. Then there's the fact that Cera had met her somewhere once before. Does she also get special treatment? I began getting more and more suspicious of who Paisely was.

"Not at all." She smiled happily.

"I just have a very influential family that supports the kingdom and the academy." She seemed to be hiding something, however I didn't want to pry and hurt our friendship, so I let it slide.

"Well, I failed my test. So I have to retake it tomorrow." I pouted.

"Would you like me to help you?" She asked.

"Yes, please."

We spent the rest of our lunch talking and sharing notes while eating.

Eventually afterschool came and Cera came to pick me up. As always, I was happy to see her, but I started wondering about Celest for some reason. I wondered how she was doing.

"Do you think Celest is doing well?"

"I'm sure she's fine. She's stronger than she looks." Well, that's not what I meant, but she's probably doing fine regardless.

"I kind of miss her. It was nice having her around."

"Yeah, having her around makes life much easier." Once again, I don't think she understood what I meant, but that was fine. Seeing that she was making a simple mistake made me think of how cute she was.

I got close to her and hugged her arm.

"Teach me how to make a seal. I failed my test today."

"The usual training method?" We had been doing this since we met.

"Yeah!" I said excitedly.

Whenever she puts Alm inside my body I can't help but fall in love with her even more. It feels so good to have her slowly move Alm inside of my body. Makes me feel warm, I love studying for that reason alone. We used to do it every day as kids, but eventually we started doing it less and less because she was busy.

"Okay." She kissed my lips and we rode the carriage home.
