Muffins

When I woke up, I felt Cera's clothes on my bare skin.

The memory of yesterday making me feel somewhat excited.

I tried my best to forget about it but the memory of her hand was imprinted in my mind.

It was soft and warm.

I could feel my cheeks redden. The memory was instigating some weird reactions in my body and mind.

I tried to it out of my head by waking Cera up.

"Wake up, Cera, let's go shower."

She opened her eyes and I gasped.

She looked so beautiful in the morning.

My heart started beating faster and the memory from yesterday came back.

She reached for my cheek with her hand and used her thumb to rub my cheekbone.

"Good morning."

I was mesmerized.

"G-good morning." My body started feeling hot and Cera quickly picked me up, leading us to the bathroom. My gown still ripped apart and dragging on the floor.

She let me go and helped me stand up while getting the bath ready.

After I took off my gown, she stared at my topless self for a bit before undressing herself. Making me extremely self-conscious.

I took off my underwear and we showered before entering the tub. This time I let her do all the work and she washed me from head to toe. My mind only thinking of lustful thoughts.

She didn't say a single word the entire time but I could tell she was feeling it too. She was touching me more than usual and was very gentle.

Eventually we finished and dried ourselves off. She put on a light blue and silver uniform today and I went with a yellow dress with white patterns. I had my hair pinned up and she just let her hair down.

I guess she has work to do today. That's why she was dressed like that. My heart started aching a bit because I didn't want her to leave me alone. I wanted to be with her again today.

"Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere without you." As if she could read my mind, she held my hands and slowly reached for a peck.

I felt my heart flutter.

We went out of the room and Viv was standing there training. Lightning surrounding her body and sword.

"Viv, prepare a carriage, we're going out to eat."

"Yes, my liege." Viv hurried off and we made our way outside of the school.

On our way there we greeted sir Andrew and he looked at me with a smile.

"I'm glad to see you're doing better, lady Zara."

"Thank you." I didn't know what else to say so I thanked him.

"We'll be on our way." Said Cera.

"I recommend eating at Café Prist, they have really good muffins." I wasn't sure how he knew we were going out to eat. Maybe Viv told him on her way to get a carriage?

By the time we got outside, Viv was waiting for us with a carriage.

Cera helped me enter and we made our way to the city.

"Should we try out Café Prist?" I asked Cera.

Cera thought for a moment with a disgusted look on her face. Like she didn't want to listen to what sir Andrew had said.

"I'm sure something is waiting for us there. Maybe we should go somewhere else."

"But they have good muffins." I replied.

"Okay, we'll go there." Cera seemed somewhat defeated and I felt happy that she gave in easily.

After a while we entered the city and Viv went to look for someone to ask for directions to Café Prist.

Since people were evacuated, the streets were pretty empty. Only orphans and poor people to be seen.

We waited for a while but Viv wasn't coming back so I looked out the window to see orphans walking our way.

"What should we do?" I wanted to help them but I didn't have any money to give them.

"Do you want to help them?" Cera asked.

"Yeah." They reminded me of Cera when I first met her so I wanted to help them out.

Cera then reached for her bag and took a handful of gold coins and threw it out the window.

All the kids suddenly began scurrying to grab the money and Cera then closed the window.

"Let them handle the rest." I was happy she helped them out, but I don't think giving them gold coins was a good idea. They might get robbed or worse.

"It'll be okay. Those kids are stronger than most adults." She said confidently.

Viv eventually came back and we made our way the café. It was empty and only an old man was waiting there.

"Welcome." He said as we entered the premise.

"Thank you for having us." I bowed down politely and he brought us a menu.

"What would you two lovely ladies like?" His eyes had a murderous look and I could feel a bit of bloodlust emanating from him.

Viv took out her sword and put it to his neck.

"Who are you?" She asked.

He attacked her but Viv reposted and sent him stumbling back. I didn't bother moving and Cera grabbed the menu.

Viv slashed him but soon enough I felt presences outside and we got surrounded.

"You ladies will make a great profit." Is what the supposed owner said to us.

"You know, I should kill Andrew when we get back." Said Cera while still reading the menu.

I wasn't particularly worried about the people surrounding us but Cera seemed too calm.

Cera raised her hand and covered me in wind and then cut the guy next to us into pieces. Blood getting everywhere.

Viv got splashed with some blood and Cera and I stayed clean.

I then heard screams coming from outside. I looked out the window to see people dying and spraying blood in the streets while a blueish wind cut them apart.

"Is this really okay?" I was a little worried. We went out and we were killing people in the middle of street.

"It's fine. People are in hiding because of the evacuation. These guys are most likely bandits that came to loot when they heard the news." Even so, I felt like we shouldn't make such a mess.

"Viv, go into the kitchen and prepare something for us."

"Understood."

"Seems like we have a guest." Said Cera.

I turned around and saw sir Andrew walk into the café.

"Hello again." He waved at me.

"What do you want?" I asked him with a bit of caution. It's weird that he followed us and even weirder that he told us to come here. He's definitely up to something.

"I came here because I'm curious about your future, lady Zara." He kept walking toward us and a transparent water sphere began appearing on top of his palm.

I didn't feel any hostility or bloodlust so I didn't react.

"I'm not letting you near her." Cera suddenly stood up and blocked his way.

"I understand how you feel, miss valentine, but I promise to share the information with you as well, at the cost of my own life span, of course." He continued.

"You see, my curiosity has been gnawing at me since I read your future, and your wife is just as interesting. Please allow me to do this service free of charge."

Cera then sat next to me and held my hand.

"Do it quickly."

"As you wish." Said sir Andrew.

He sat across from us and then placed his palm on the middle of the table.

"Lady Zara, would you mind if I read your future?" I looked at Cera for confirmation about what he was going to do and she gripped my hand tightly.

"It's okay. It'll be good for us." She said.

Us.

I was happy. Doesn't matter what the future holds or if I know what's going to happen or not. Because Cera will be there with me.

"Okay." I replied.

"Please place your hand inside the bubble."

I followed his directions and the water sphere began spinning. He used his other hand to begin drawing runes.

This was the first time besides Cera that I've seen someone draw runes without the help of a wand.

That was when the sphere began shifting and turning into black water. There was nothing but darkness and I was staring at an endless void.

Then, a plant slowly began sprouting in the darkness. It was becoming bigger and bigger. Followed by a small figure crying next to the sprouting plant. It was all happening very quickly and then it all disappeared, turning black again and an hourglass slowly ascending from the bottom of the sphere.

Slowly more and more hourglasses began appearing. They looked similar to the one my scythe has.

That was when the sphere popped and water splashed everywhere, Cera reacted quickly, keeping myself and her dry.

However, Sir Andrew suddenly began spasming on the table and eventually passed out. Blood dripping from his eyes, nose and ears.

I gripped Cera's hand a little harder because I got scared. Does this mean I'll have a terrible future? I don't think anything I saw there was a good thing, even if it was cryptic.

Cera released some bloodlust and forcibly woke up sir Andrew by making him float and slowly piercing his body with wind blades.

He woke up screaming and Cera dragged his face next to her hand and began choking him while his body rested on the table.

"What did you see, tell me right now." I could feel myself tense up due to Cera's bloodlust, she was about to kill him.

"Time... is on her side." After he said that, he began spasming again and Cera threw him out of the window. Breaking it and causing debris to come near me, but she intervened right before it hit me.

"We're leaving." She said with an annoyed look on her face.

"Viv, get the carriage ready." She didn't pull me hard but she was definitely rougher than normal. I followed behind her and Viv came out with a smile on her face.

"I made muffins."
