Chapter 7

Somewhere on the outskirts of a large forest stands a small village residing nearly 100 people.

It was still nighttime, fluffy grey clouds block the large moon, only bits of moonlight barely illuminating the small unnamed village, barely enough to see a small figure in the sky, a fair distance away from the village.

The figure had two large wings and a long tail with a large silver fluff at the end.

With silver tiger stripes glowing on its back, the figures' frigid amber eyes observed the village before it coldly.

---

I wasn't so surprised seeing the village. It had taken me around 3 hours of flight, just to get here.

The style of the houses was of the 20th century, they all had the same structure but with different materials here and there.

Along with houses, the fields were very large, and right in the center of the village was a house, painted in pure white.

It was very eye-catching, larger than the rest of the houses in its vicinity.

Black tiles lined the rooftop and it could be seen that the person who lived there must have a large status or backing in the village.

I first descend onto the grassy floor below me, a bit farther away from the village.

From what I've overheard from the two girls last month, a merchant's car would come every 2 weeks.

The plan was to get a hold of some transformation magic and approach the villagers. After gaining their trust and assimilating with them a little, I would follow the merchant's under the guise of finding my parents.

Transformation magic can allow the caster to transform into an animal-like form, but the drawback was that there were only 3 forms. Namely Terra for land animals, Aero for aerial, and Lympha for water-based animals.

However, for beasts there were still the same 3 forms, except one of the forms would be replaced by a human-like form. the form that is replaced is of the category beast belongs to.

For example, I would only have an Aero, Lympha and a human-like form as my original appearance is of the Terra category.

The magic was pretty easy to learn in my opinion, but apparently very hard for others. Maybe I'm just such a genius?

Transformation magic is also kept under tight security, so not a lot of people can even attempt to try and use it.

Anyway, because I had already dabbled a little in transformation magic in my past life, it should be much easier.

Leaping behind a tree, I sit down before closing my eyes and blocking my senses.

Of course, doing this in the wild would be very unsafe and highly dangerous.

This was also why I chased out all of the living organisms in the surrounding vicinity.

Ridding my head of wandering thoughts, I embrace the silence and darkness.

Suddenly, I find myself in a clean room.

The walls were painted white with red wooden floors. a fluffy white round carpet in the middle with a twin-sized bed against the wall.

A window above the beds' wall showcased breathtaking scenery, purple tainted skies with large fluffy clouds littered across.

The sun was setting.

I knew this place.

Though I hadn't stepped in here for the past 12 years, it was clear to me that I was in my old room.

White bunny plushies were lining the edge of the bed. A blue and white-colored blanket was sprawled messily on it.

Taking it all in, I turn around to see the door.

I wanted to go out.

To see my father again.

Although my memory was always so 'perfect' I still couldn't remember his face.

Only his abyssal hair and red eyes, yet they always softened whenever he looked at me.

It was all blurry.

Creak.

Spinning around, I find myself looking up at someone.

Someone familiar.

Black hair with silver streaks. Amber red eyes looking down indifferently.

It was me.

Feeling the fur on the back of my neck rise, I see 'myself' opening 'my' mouth.

"You, are still too attached."

Pausing, 'I' continue speaking in a monotone voice.

"Learn to let go, it is all in the past. And rather than wallow in your memories, look for him in the present."

I look at 'myself' in shock.

What do 'I' mean?

Wallowing in my memories?

Oh well, maybe that's true but I just miss my father!

And.. 'look for him in the present.' does that...

Does that mean... he is still alive..?

My vision gets blurry.

I think I'm going to cry.

Father is still alive... still out there... somewhere...

Yet, before my tears explode, 'I' stretch out 'my' hand and touch my head.

Suddenly, I blank out.

An excruciating pain hits me.

It's as though a thousand ants were biting on my bones.

Little needles poking at my skin.

I want to scream, bite something. Numb the pain. Distract it.

Something to end the pain.
