Lose Myself (IV)

"Shhh. It's okay, everything will be okay," Louie whispered as he patted her hair for a bit. He let her head leaned through his shoulder as she howled in the earliest time of the night.

Friya climbed down on her car. She huffed some air through her mouth while pocketing her cold hands through her coat. She had been awake for nearly twenty-four hours today and she didn't have time to sleep because she was so worried about Sean. She looked down at her feet as she remembered what Sean's mother said to her yesterday night.

"You're not allowed to go near my son ever again! Now, if you please and still have a tinge of respect towards me and my family for the nth time, pack up your things on the house that Sean brought for you and stay away from us!"

Friya clutched the cloth on the insides of her coat as she looked up at the house. They had been living under the same roof for two years, since the time they graduated from Del Rio University. The tears welled up through her puffy eyes as she started to walk and retrieved the key from her jeans. She stopped right at the front door and glanced at the mat. She sighed as she composed herself and shook her head while gritting her teeth.

She put the key inside the knob and it clicked immediately. She opened the door towards the inside and she felt like crying after going inside. She closed the door behind her as she stared at the living room, where the first couch that they bought through their money and she was surprised to see herself crying on the door. She sobbed as she got herself walking inside while glancing around the room. She bit her lip as she looked up through the ceiling and was unable to move from her place.

She clenched her jaw as she wiped those tears from her eyes and let herself sit down on the couch for a while. She placed her hand on the soft and smooth surface of it. She caressed it as she opened her mouth slightly and gasped for some air while tears verged in her eyes. She propped up her elbows on her knees as she cried and whispered, "Why did this have to happen to us?"

She let herself cry for half an hour before she recovered. She wiped the remaining tears from her puffy eyes as she stood up from her seat and walked inside the bedroom. The door creaked through as she peeked inside and saw that the windows were still open. It has been a day since the house was not occupied and she saw the mess in the mattress. Sean didn't even have the time to fold the blankets and the comforter alone because he was so worried about Friya.

She felt senseless as she remembered the phone call that she had heard from his phone that made Friya's fists knuckled on her sides. She breathed loudly as she walked through the closet and retrieved the peach luggage beneath. She laid it down on the foot of the bed as she stood and picked up the hangers on the rack one by one. She folded the clothes neatly inside. After she had retrieved her necessities from the drawer beside the closet and put it on a zip bag, she closed it and let it lean at the foot of the bed.

She breathed out as she turned around and saw the sunlight passing through the windows. She swallowed as she crouched down underneath the bed and got something. She picked up a box filled and pasted with paper-cut hearts. She soothed it with her right hand as soon as she got it. She smiled sadly as she stood up and grabbed a hold through the handle of the luggage. She rolled it down towards the door but as soon as she turned the knob, she took another glimpse all over the bedroom, where she had shared the multiple sleepless nights with Sean.

She bit her bottom lip as she turned around and walked out of the door relentlessly. She rolled down and picked up the boxes of her shoes. She placed it on the bag besides, with the heart box in it. She knuckled her fists as she put the luggage by the front door and the bags. She stood by the living room as she whispered, "I'm sorry, Sean."

The tears instantly brimmed through her eyelids as she glanced around while sniffing. She remembered the smiles, the laugh, their cuddles, and their talks in the house. She looked down as she whispered, "I'm sorry I had to leave."

She put her hands over her mouth as she turned around immediately and picked up the bags. She opened the door first before she rolled down the luggage outside. She closed it before she changed her mind as she panted while she closed her eyes. She turned around while grasping both of the bags and the luggage in her hand as she reached the back of her car. She put it through the back compartment while she controlled the tears from coming. She swallowed constantly as she took one last glance at the house before she climbed in.

She started the car as she controlled the temptation in her heart to glimpse back at the house Sean brought for the both of them. She sobbed as she stepped on the gas pedal and her car zoomed out of the street.

"I never thought that I will leave the house you bought for both of us with tears in my eyes."
