The Mistress (I)

The tears instantly brimmed through her eyelids as she glanced around while sniffing. She remembered the smiles, the laugh, their cuddles, and their talks in the house. She looked down as she whispered, "I'm sorry I had to leave."

She put her hands over her mouth as she turned around immediately and picked up the bags. She opened the door first before she rolled down the luggage outside. She closed it before she changed her mind as she panted while she closed her eyes. She turned around while grasping both of the bags and the luggage in her hand as she reached the back of her car. She put it through the back compartment while she controlled the tears from coming. She swallowed constantly as she took one last glance at the house before she climbed in.

She started the car as she controlled the temptation in her heart to glimpse back at the house Sean brought for the both of them. She sobbed as she stepped on the gas pedal and her car zoomed out of the street.

"I never thought that I will leave the house you bought for both of us with tears in my eyes."

She turned towards the highway while taking turns wiping the tears from her eyes. She doesn't know what to feel anymore, it was as if she felt numb from the pain being brought by what happened to Sean. She closed her eyes for a millisecond as she glanced the other way while the tears were on it.

She zoomed out of the highway while she pursed her lips and the tears trickling down.

------ 1 week after ----

TSV Studios, especially the one who was handling Sean Gonzales, a professional screenwriter, was very well aware of the news of what happened to him. The director's office was alarmed by the news as soon as it came out through the studios and Sean Gonzales had been admitted through the intensive care unit room.

Someone was walking down the hallways, with her designer bag in her hands, swinging as she walked formally, while the shades were hiding her puffy eyes. She walked towards the director's office, she walked inside and removed her shades. The woman who walked inside was tall, had slim legs and arms, and long, midnight-black hair that ended exactly at the back of her waist. She was wearing a simple white, long-sleeved polo with the high-waisted jeans that suited her legs. She put the shades on her bag as she sat down on the last chair while she said, "I'm sorry, I'm late. Something came upon the house."

Her face was of heart shape, her arched eyebrows were aligned, sweeping eyelashes, and she was entitled as the makeup guru among the female directors right at the TSV Studios. Her stares were deadly and sweet, her eyes were of round shape and brown in color, and she really had this pointed nose. She looked up with her syrupy-sweet lips pursed as Friya was watching her across the seat.

Friya looked down as she was suffering from insomnia, and the underneath of her eyelids was sunken. Her heart-shaped and pouting lips were pale, and her eyes were round. She looked really smart when she arched her back straight, and she did it as she lifted her chin. Her brown hair had been ponytailed low, and she was wearing a loose, blue polo of her mother and jeans. She still looked so beautiful, but she had deprived of wearing makeup on herself due to her stress.

Feline Lazaro, the director of an afternoon TV variety program that soared high in the rankings. Feline had been entitled as the best director for various programs in the past three years that she had worked as a director. Friya tucked the loose strands of her hair behind her ear as the meeting was resumed once again. The whole room was once again ensued by silence.

Friya and Feline were listening for a full hour now, and Sean had been mentioned by the CEO of TSV Studios.

Friya looked down as Feline looked up at her with that darkened gaze. The CEO pertained to Friya and asked, "What happened to him, Ms. Friya Lee? Is it something that serious?"

Friya looked up while Feline scoffed in her seat and one director turned to her because of how loud it was. Friya clutched the handkerchief underneath the table as she heard Feline's response to that question with that rude gesture. Friya answered back, "It's serious, Mr. Na. Umm... he's now confined at the intensive care unit for a week because there had been some bleeding in his head, so..."

CEO Na was taken aback by what they heard as he raised his hand and said, "Oh. I'm really sorry from what I've heard. Okay, just... I apologize for what happened, Ms. Lee."

Friya halted abruptly and turned towards the papers in front of her as she remembered the time she saw Sean's body, lying down on the cold floor in the middle of the highway, on the pedestrian lane, with the blood oozing out from the back part of his head. Feline was gritting her teeth towards Friya as she looked away with disgust painted on her face. Friya looked up and saw that Feline was now crossing her arms over her chest.

CEO Na said that they should get back to their work as the directors on the other side of the table stood up hastily. CEO Na exited on the other side of the door while Friya stood up from her seat too, not wanting to talk with Feline, but she knew that she was cornered.

Her deep voice resonated as soon as a lot of directors went out and only the two of them were left. Feline cried out, "Wait up."

Friya stopped from her place as she gritted her teeth and glared at the wall right across from her. Feline stood up with her heels clicking on the tiles as she walked up to the side of the table and reached the place where Friya was.
