Good Listener

Feline halted her hand from picking up the wineglass. She turned to him, uttered, "I just know. That's what life is. You don't even have to be in a relationship to know the meaning of love."

She drank the remaining tequila on her glass and retrieved her purse on the side. It's already half past midnight. Sean watched as she fumbled for her wallet in her bag.

"You are a good listener, Feline. I do hope I can talk to you a lot," Sean confessed. She's a listener. How could he not know that at first sight? He doesn't even talk to her, that's why. He prohibited himself from hanging out with any other women. Ever since he committed a relationship with Friya, he only came to sleepovers with men.

"You barely talk to me, that's why you don't know. That's my greatest talent rather than being a screenwriter. You can talk to me every time. I'm not finicky at all," she pointed out. She beamed at him as Sean did the same thing. He pursed his lips and his dimples showed right away.

Feline had the urge to poke it, but she shook her head. She's not his, for starters. She doesn't have the right to touch him.

They both ordered drinks and they talk about how hard their work was. Some other things came up too, but Feline was rather fortunate to talk with Sean a little longer.

...

"That's how we met. At a club. You talked about how difficult it was at your work." Feline scraped off the thing about Friya. She only indicated how they met, and Feline was guiltier than usual. She kept lying that she was Sean's girlfriend.

"Work? What is my work? Do my accident have to do with my work?" Sean asked. The air conditioner blasted the air, a frigid surrounding felt. Feline smiled at him.

"You are a very hardworking screenwriter. You are one-of-a-kind," Feline reminded. Sean's flabbergasted look showed that he didn't have any recent memory of what he does. Before he developed this kind of amnesia. He looked down as he sighed.

"You are working under TSV Studios. That's where I work too. Although I am working under a radio show program," Feline pointed out. Sean quivered his lip, tilting his head to one side. He doesn't know if he could believe it or not.

"Screenwriter? Was it some sort of writer on dramas?" Sean queried. Feline nodded, beamed, and retrieved her cell phone. She would show him what he's job was before the accident.

While retrieving her cell phone from her bag, she spoke, "You are well-known for your dramas, Sean. The directors must have been waiting for you to come back to the Studios. But... you're here."

Feline gripped her cell phone and opened it. Sean queried, "Dramas? What dramas are you talking about?"

Feline search for his name on a website. A smile crept up from her lips. She told, "You are the only male writer who writes romance inside the TSV Studios."

Sean looked at the screen and saw his name on it. Sean Gonzales, a screenwriter of TSV Studios. They critically acclaimed him as one author who writes romance in the studios. He parted his lips, couldn't believe that Feline said the truth.

"I'm not gonna lie about your skills. You're great at writing in the first place, Sean. It's your talent. God gave it to you." Feline pressed the off button of her cell phone as Sean tilted his head to one side. The enthralling surge through his heart and it made him beam a little. Feline's surprised face emerged, and she chuckled in an instant.

Sean looked up at her, and Feline pointed at him. He raised his eyebrows, as he didn't understand what she conveyed. She chortled, "You're smiling. Did you remember anything?"

Sean shook his head. Fragments of memories didn't even called out on the surface of his thoughts. It's still blank.

"No. I have nothing in mind right now. Actually, I wanted to rest for a while. Can I lay down?" Sean asked her. Feline approached him immediately. Sean grinned and swung his feet on the bed.

...

Whenever Sean wanted to go out of the house, Friya always nag him to stay. Sean's too exhausted to deal with Friya's voice, and he wanted to breathe the fresh air. He would go home to their house. Friya would wait in the living room while reading a book.

She was pretending to read an upside down book, and Sean knew at that moment he would receive a scolding once again.

Their 10th year flew so past, their relationship changed after those days and weeks. Friya became similar to his mother, but Sean didn't even argue, even if it irritated him for a while.

A month after Feline and Sean drank together on a bar counter, he wanted to stay out too late. Thinking that, if he went home early, Friya would nag on fixing things until morning of the weekend came. He stood outside of the TSV Studios on an early breeze of the night.

It's Friday. No work for tomorrow. He could drink in the closest bar at the Studios and go home at midnight.

Sean slipped in his hands on his jacket and breathe in. Trying to deduce the overload of the information in his brain. He might lose his sanity if he think what to write for the ending of that drama he was working on. Besides, he should rest. His body felt numb than usual.

Someone called out inside the studios that startle him.

"Sean!" Feline pushed the glass doors close. She placed her sling bag securely on her shoulders as she smiled at him. Sean beamed back.

"Why you're here? I thought you're going home early," Feline panted. She ran up from the second floor of the studios, down to the ground floor, and in front of the parking lot. She huffed her breath first.

Sean stared at her and mumbled, "I... wanted to hang out for a while."
