I Was Afraid

"You know Aizawa, I'm surprised this even exist. Why are we not allowed to fight the infected with quirks?" I said as we trailed down the staircase.

"Because they're still technically considered human. The government announced that this is happening all around the world and said that it technically counts as murder."

He scoffed.

"Even thought they said there's not chance of turning them back."

I snorted and stopped at we reached the bottom of the steps and into complete darkness.

"Give me a second to find the lights." Midnight said walking through.

I bumping into someone and whispered sorry. They reached out and patted my arm and slid their hand down to intertwine with mine. I squeezed whoever's it was reassuringly.

We stood like that for a good five minutes until someone else bumped into my other hand and grabbed it.

"Who is this?' I recognized Jiro's voice and laughed.

"It's Kitsune." She looped our hands and I swung the other hand I was holding.

"Who's this?"

"Ah! Found it!" I heard Midnight shouted.

There was a clicking sound and I turned to see a huge room light up. There were five jeeps, each with a white number on them. There was a wall of weapons ranging from swords to baseball bats to rifles. There was only a small amount of guns, the rest went to daggers and knives.

Another wall held supplies such as food, water, first aid, flares, flashlight, batteries, and generators. The last held clothing, shoes, gloves, jackets and sweaters and backpacks.

"Grab what you need. Don't overdo it. Just get necessities." Aizawa said, heading over to a rack where there were five sets of keys that I assumed went to the jeeps.

I walked over to the clothing and started to take my jacket off. I threw it on the floor and grabbed a black one. I started to take my skirt off when someone cleared their throat.

I turned to see Kaminari coughing into his fist while the boys had their backs turned.

"What? Turn around. Let the girls change first since there are so little of us." I said.

Kaminari turned around and the boys all had their backs turned as Mina, Jiro, Momo, Hagakure, Neijre and I changed. I pulled on jeans with my white button up school shirt and black jacket. I pulled on combat boots in my size and pulled on fingerless gloves. I grabbed an empty backpack, tossing a hoodies, beanie, and a scarf with extra jeans and waited for the rest of the girl to finish.

"Okay, you're clear." I said.

Momo was wearing gray leggings and a white long sleeve shirt with a jean jacket and tennis shoes. Mina was wearing black leggings and a black hoodie on. Hagakure was wearing gloves, along with jeans, and a white t-shirt with the words, "Rescue Squad" on it. Uraraka was wearing jeans with a hoodie and a beanie. Jiro was wearing her signature black pants and white shirt and a black jacket while Neijre was wearing jeans with a pink hoodie with a cat on it.

I snorted and saw the boys turn around. They looked at each of us before going over to change. I went to the supplies wall and grabbed water, food, two flashlights with extra batteries and flares.

I zipped it up and slung it over my back. I went quickly back over to the clothing area and grabbed a hair tie.

"Sorry!" I peeped, seeing Todoroki and Midoriya shirtless. I started to tie my hair before Neijre came over and started doing it for me.

"You don't have to Neijre." I said.

"I don't mind. I already did Momo's." She said. I turned to see Momo had her long hair in a pretty braid.

I smiled as she finished putting it in a high ponytail and went over to the weapons wall where Aizawa was waiting. We were joined shortly by the boys who eyes our outfits.

"What?" I asked, seeing eyes land on me.

"You look cute." Kaminari said bluntly, smiling.

I chuckled and nodded at Momo.

"She's cuter." I said smiling.

"Choose wisely please. So don't use something you don't know how to use." Aizawa said. I heard a car start up and turned to see Midnight wave.

"They work! Full tank of gas in each one!" She called.

The fourth area where a wall was supposed to be was a ramp for the car to get out leading up to the surface.

I grabbed a knife belt, clipping it around my waist and sliding a few knifes in. I grabbed a sword and it's sheath and put it though a jean loop made for belts. I slowly slid it into its sheath and nodded to myself with approval.

I turned, ready for Aizawa's next instructions.

"Looking pretty badass Kitsune." Mina said nudging me. She was trying to stay upbeat and happy even through all this.

"Okay. Since there's only four teachers, the fifth car will have to be driven by a student. I don't like the idea, but we need the space."

The car set up went like this:

Car #1:

Driver: Aizawa

Passengers: Mina, Sero, Tokoyami and Aoyama.

Car #2:

Driver: Midnight

Passengers: Hagakure, Jiro, Ojiro, and Iida

Car#3

Driver: Hound Dog

Passengers: Kirishima, Kaminari, Momo, and Uraraka

Car #4

Driver: Present Mic

Passengers: Asui, Tamaki, Neijre and Eri.

Car #5

Driver: Mirio

Passengers: Kitsune, Todoroki, Bakugou and Midoriya

I sighed at the passengers I was sharing the car with and rolled my eyes.

"What are the odds that the three strongest people in class are in the same car?" I asked.

Bakugou was growling at Midoriya who whimpered and Todoroki was trying to ease the tension slightly.

"I have no idea! But at least I KNOW how to drive." Mirio said. I laughed and turned as Aizawa ordered everyone to get into their assigned cars.

I was in the right back seat with Midoriya in the middle and Todoroki on the other side of him. Bakugou had claimed the front seat next to Mirio who slid into the driver seat.

Aizawa was the only one not in his car as he went to a wall and pushed a button. The ramp roof opened up to reveal the ashy sky from the smoke. I growled at the sight and Aizawa quickly jumped into his car and drove up the ramp. The cars went in number order with us following last. The ramp shut behind us and we drove off down a rode that led into the forest beside the school.

I sat back, hand on my sword handle just in case and came up with an idea. I pulled out knife and started carving something into the sword hilt.

"Kitsune?" Midoriya peered at my work.

I brushed the carving dust away to reveal the date.

"The date this all started. The day I lost important lives. Everyday I lose someone, it goes on my sword." I said, sliding it back into its sheath.

Midoriya and Todoroki looked at me with concern.

"I think you're overthinking this. I'm sure this'll all be over soon." Midoriya said.

"Midoriya. They said this is happening all over the world. I don't believe this is ending anytime soon." I stated, looking out the window.

It might have been a coincidence, but it was too perfect to not be an omen, but something huge crashed down next to the car.

It was a tree, in it, was a bunch of dead birds.

I winced and turned my gaze at Midoriya.

"Hmm?" He said, frowning.

I sighed and we went deeper and farther away from UA. We sat there for approximately three hours before I started to lose my mind.

I stabbed a knife into Bakugou's seat and he growled and turned around.

"Oi! Shitty woman! Cut it out!" He snarled.

I ignored him and brushed my hands through his hair.

"So soft." I murmured.

He went red and slapped my hands away.

"Knock it off!" He hissed.

I laughed and looked at Todoroki who looked fed up with me.

We were passing between a hillside area when the ground started shaking.

"Everyone hold on!" Mirio shouted, gripping the steering wheel and pulling up next to Aizawa's car. He rolled Bakugou's window down and shouted at Aizawa.

"What's going on?" He asked.

"I don't know! We were approaching the campsite! It might be a security system! Courtesy of Pixie-Bob!" Aizawa answered.

"The Wild WIld Pussycats?" I asked, rolling my window down.

"Yeah, Snipe and Cementoss met up with them and created a huge barrier in the mountain area as a refuge."

Aizawa said.

"Guys, this is not Pixie-Bob." I heard Midnight over the walkie-talkie.

"What?" Aizawa said into it.

Something huge shot out of the ground in front of us and I turned to see a huge mass of infected citizens crawl out and run for our cars. We quickly rolled our windows up and took off away from the mass. Car 4 was bombarded but I saw a yellow spiral shot of energy blow up and clear the car.

"Neijre." I said. Then it clicked when I went over what passengers were in her car.

"We can fix this. There is hope. We can change everyone infected back!" I said into the walkie-talkie.

"How?" Aizawa and Midoriya said at the same time.

"Eri." I said. "If Chisaki could reverse something you were born with, then Eri can reverse something that happened less than 24 hours ago! We are NOT cutting her up or experimenting. We just need to train her so she can turn large groups of people back to normal!" I explained.

Midoriya's face went blank with realization and his jaw dropped.

"That could work." He said looking at Mirio.

"Yes Kitsune. But that takes time-" I heard Ectoplasm say.

"I know. And we don't have a lot of it. But if we could help her control it, Eri can fix everything."

The walkie went silent as they thought it over.

"One thing at a time. Let's get out of here." Hound Dog said.

We drove away from the refuge and through the mountains to find a way to escape the hoards of infected. We sped through on the road and came across a bridge.

"I'll destroy the bridge, I'll get us out of here later." I said into the walkie.

All the cars went across first. I hopped out of our car and motioned for them to keep going. Bakugou came out as well and the car took off.

"Seriously?" I called, running to the front of the bridge.

"You said destroy and it peaked my interest." He grumbled.

I laughed and stopped halfway across the bridge.

"Go ahead." I said.

He ran forward, grinning and jumped before pointing his hands down and blasting the bridge.

"DIE!" He shouted.

I flew up at the bridge broke and wood snapped as the roads fell inward into the canyon below.

"Nice! Let's go!" I called.

He blasted himself in mid air and I flew next to him as we rejoined the other who were stepping out of the cars.

"Nice job Bakugou. Let's rest for tonight." Aizawa said, looking at the setting sun.

"No. They're more active in the dark." I said, walking over.

"When I rescued Shinso in the hallway, the one that attacked the other boy ran away when I shot flames at it. It didn't like the light and went back into the shadows. If the only source of light is the moon, we're screwed." I said.
