Chapter 8 : For Ruby

As soon as I entered my bedroom a beautiful scent filled my nostrils . My eyes landed on the lady on my bed who I call my wife now .

She look so pretty making me remember the past but I shake off those thoughts and made my way to the changing room .

I came out and turn on the TV . I stared at the woman on my bed she looks so cute while sleeping and she held the white shit tightly I could tell she was scared but she will have to face it . Lost in thought someone knocked .

" Who is that ".

" Ruby " . A tiny little voice spoke .

" Come in dear " .

She stood by the door and searched for me and she ran towards where I sat and envelope me in a tight hug . I made her sit in between my thighs and gave her a glass of wine .

" How are you daddy ".

" I have been looking for you dearest . "

" I was sleeping " . She said smiling .

I could see she had bags under her eyes and it made her look funny .

My four years old daughter , my heartbeat , my world . She is the main reason I am living and I love her so much . Her mom died after her birth and ever since then I turned cold and I became a single father .

" I can see you have beautiful eyes ".

She looked back at me for some reason and smile and I kissed her cheeks .

Soon her eyes landed on the bed .

" Who is that " . She pointed her tiny finger at Odet .

I was quiet a while before I spoke.

" You see that is your Mommy " .

A smile appeared on her face bas she looked at her intensively .

" She is very beautiful " .

" Yes she is . Daddy married a very beautiful Mommy for Ruby ". I caressed her cheeks with my fingers .

" Thanks Dad " . She said and kissed my cheek . This is all I ever wanted to see my little girl so happy and I hope Odet make her more happier.

" Daddy have you eaten " .

" No but I will eat later " .

" Ok dad " .

After a while she stood up .

" Dad am going to play with my toys " .

" Ok dear " .

" Bye bye " . She walked out of the room .

I left the room 7pm to read in my study .

I did some few research and planed for the second launch . It was indeed boring I even fell asleep and woke up again and post on how bored I am .

I started chatting with my ex girlfriend .

I tried explaining everything to her but she was furious reminding me of all my promises . I wanted her to be the mother of my child because she was close to Ruby but my mom disagreed with me .

I tried my very best but she was angry she telling me I was a fake . Even if I never really liked her , Ruby seems to enjoy her company so I told her I wanted her to be Ruby's mom and she jumped at the offer but my mom refused immediately I told her . She told me that she was in for my money .

I still don't believe my mom but I will find a way to compensate her . Her name is Lizzy and she is my one of my favorite staff . She is tall well built , fair skin and red lips . She look very pretty with her red colored hair .

Marvin even insisted I should marry her but my mom seems to be the barrier stopping me . There was a time I started falling for her eyes . Her eyes was like silver mist . Those eyes hunt my dream that I had to stay away from her .

Now am stuck with Odet . Lizzy went offline in anger I could tell she was really heart broken . I chat with Marvin and told him everything thing and he also narrated his prob to me . His case was really critical .

His girlfriend took care of a stranger and even made friend with her and later let her go home without Marvin concept and he is now his angry with his girlfriend for letting the stranger go . What an epic .

I should face my own business at hand . It's getting late I went to Ruby's room she was still awake I didn't disturb her she was talking to her toys and they are all having a tea party . Hilarious .

Entering into my bed room I saw a pair of green eyes looking at me like television. I sigh and walked towards the mirror I took off my shirt and observe the mark on my collar bone . I felt her gaze and she look embarrass that she can't hide but pull up the sheet to cover her face . I chuckle slightly to my own hearing . This will be so interesting .

I climb up the bed and pull the sheet off and fall on my back .

" Good evening Miss " .

She didn't even reply my greetings she just looked the other way staring at the lamp .

" Hello " .

She seems lost in thought but I know what to do . She was too close to the extreme and playing her fingers and she closed her legs and bit her lower lip .

" I am talking to you " . I said and crossed the distance between the both of us and she loosed her balance and was about to break some few bones but I had to save her for Ruby happiness . I pulled her into my embrace. She was breathing heavily I could hear her heart beat hammering against my chest.

She started coughing hard so I quickly gave her water and she drank in haste .

" Take it easy ".

She gave me back the glass . She fall back to bed and held the sheet above her waist . I had really gave her a fright . Looking back at her direction , she was still sleeping at the extreme again . I don't want her to fall anything for my Ruby. I pulled into my embrace with her back against my chest. A gasped escaped her lips and she stayed quiet before she tried struggling out of my arms but I refuse to let her go as I held her so tight in the waist .

" You go no where " . I spoke softly behind her ear and I felt her vibrate and soon remain calm. i think she figured out that is of no use struggling out of my embrace .
