Conflict of Interest

"Fuck, I need a drink." Winona groaned as her and Lou got into the car. "Are youse legal yet?"

Before Lou had the chance to answer, Winona said, "Bah, it don't matter. Let's go."

Lou was a bit baffled by Winona's new nonchalant attitude. Just an hour ago she was so reserved and her aura was threatening almost. Lou figured that after sharing intimate details on such a traumatic event would only worsen Winona's attitude. It was strange to see it had a reverse effect.

The roads were busier as people headed home from work, but it didn't compare to the Duluth traffic. The clouds were setting in and looking rather heavy. Lou could almost smell the rain as they walked into a small, shabby building with a shitty sign with a keg painted on it. It was nicer inside; modern wood floors with wooden walls, wooden chairs and tables. It felt cozy, and the few people that were there were either cozy or drunk enough to be sleeping at the counter while others drank in silence.
