Ese's pov

"I want you to come with me,it'll be fun and I promise i won't bring up my feelings for you" I heard Ray say through the door I was currently leaning on. "Well alright,I'll be there" Eni said I waited to make sure they we're done,after a second or two of hearing nothing,i sprinted into Eni's room,I joined her on the bed and gave her a really wide smile. "I can't believe you are coming to the gala,this is going to be so much fun, this is probably the first time I'm actually happy I'll be attending a gala" "Eavesdropping now are we?" Eni said with a smirk I just replied by sticking out my tongue in a very mature way might I add. "You are so mature" She said Sarcastically "Yea yea, I know" I said with a smile,not bothered about her obviously sarcastic comment. "So you are the reason he asked?" Eni asked "You and I both know I'm not" I said seriously "Right.." She said timidly "What's wrong?" I said "Nothing" Eni replied "Okay let me rephrase the question, why are you feeling uneasy" I said "I'm not sure.... ,I think I like Ray but I'm not so sure,there's still Tobi so i just don't know and the fact that I'm not sure is exactly why I want to stay away but it's proving to be difficult,I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want to lead him on" Eni said and then placed her fingers on her lips while looking at me with a worried expression. "Okay,I get this,but instead of avoiding him,you could just tell him this and allow him decide what to do" I said "Yea...,I could just do that" She said with her thinking face on. "I hope this doesn't backfire" She said with a frown "I don't really see how.. Ray is a nice guy,he'll get it" I replied "I hope so.." She said with a shaky smile "Enough about guy's,let's talk about the gala!!" I said a little too excitedly "What's gotten into you?" She said looking at me like I had grown an extra head "Nothing,I'm just excited" I said grinning "About a gala?" Eni said slowly like she was talking to a toddler "Yep" I replied "You?" She said while giving me a weird look. "Yea.." I replied wondering where she was going with this "Well Seyi better give me my friend back,cause she's gone" She said with a sigh "Oh shut up" I said laughing "What about you,aren't you supposed to be excited,this is your first gala" I said realizing how much she wasn't acting like Eni at the moment. "Oh my goodness,we have been exchanged!! " She said with horror in her eyes. "What are you talking about?" I said feeling really confused. "I'm now you and you are me!!" She said looking at me with wide eyes. "For goodness sakes,how are we friends?" I said laughing "It's not funny,it's possible" She said trying to hide a smile. "Right.." I said looking at her like the crazy person she is. "OMG" She shouted out of the blue. "What!?" I said shocked at the outburst "I'm attending my first gala on Saturday!!,it's freaking Thursday,I don't have a dress,I haven't done my nails,my hair hasn't be made,we have so much to do!" She said sounding hysterical.

She quickly picked up her phone "Hi I'm Eniola falade,Mrs falade referred me to you.My friend and I need to get ready for a gala on Saturday and we need a dress" Eni went on and on calling different people for different things. "That's my Eni" I smiled. An hour later,we welcomed three ladies to Eni's apartment,they came with racks of clothes,shoes,Jelweries,clutches and pictures of different hair styles. For about two hours we were deciding our looks and when we finally came to a decision,they left. "Tomorrow we will get our nails done..., I feel like I'm missing something" Eni said lost in thought "Make up!!!,I haven't called Jenny" She said while basically sprinting to the living room. "Ese,I can't find my phone do you know where it is?" Eni shouted from the living room. I was about to answer her when I heard my phone ring. I answered excitedly after seeing the caller id. "Hi big bro" I grinned "Little sis.." "I've missed you" I said with a smile "I don't think that's true,since you left for school I can count the number of times you've called me" My brother said "Doesn't mean I don't miss you" I said "Of course you'll say that,I've missed you too" He said "How are you big bro?,have you finally told Ivie you like her?" He let out a laugh " I'm good Ese,and I don't like ivie" I sighed " I thought we've passed this denial stage,you like her so tell her" "You know it's not that simple" He said "It is,cause she likes you too,she has been waiting for years,make a move before she finally moves on" I said feeling like a broken record because of all the times I've had to say this. "So what if she's not from a well known family,i know you don't care about that,so stop letting dad dictate everything that goes on in your life and for once do something for yourself,she's amazing and she actually likes you!!,for reasons I seriously can't fathom but she does" I said hoping I got through to him this time. "When did you get so wise little sis" He said "I've always been big bro" I replied with a smile "So you are going to tell her?" I asked hopefully. "I'm going to tell her" He replied "Finally" I said feeling happy "So enough about me,how is school?" He said "School is good,had a test some days ago,it went well,the lectures are nice, to be honest I'm actually enjoying my course" I said while thinking about the lectures I've had and the feeling I get during and after them. "I knew you will,by the way you promised me you'll do more than just be in school and actually have fun so is anything exciting happening?" He added "Well I'm going to the Abayomi's annual gala on Saturday" I said smiling "Oh really.." He said sounding weird "Yep,Eni and I have been preparing...., oh and I know you definitely got an invitation,please tell me you are coming" I asked hopefully I have been having the time of my life but I still miss my brother,immensely, this is the longest I have gone without him and I don't want to get used to it. "How do you know the Abayomi's?" My brother said sounding very serious. "Em I know their son?" I said nervously which made the supposed reply sound like a question,I didn't want to lie to my brother but due to the way he was sounding it seemed like the best thing to do. "You can't just know their son,how?" My brother said sternly "He is in my school,what's going on?, why all the questions? " I said feeling really confused. "You can't be friends with people from that family Ese,you can't go to that gala" He said sternly "What!?,why?" I said annoyed "It's for your own good,just listen to me" He said with a pleading tone "Explain" I said "I can't,just listen to me..please" He said in a low tone "Fine.. I have to go,I have a test to study for" I said "Alright little sis,take care" He said and hanged up And I was left to think. What just happened!?.I thought to myself. "Ese!! come check this out" Eni shouted from the living room. With that I walked towards Eni's living room with the conversation I just had with my brother still lingering.
