CHAPTER VII

Adrain noticed how his mate stared lustfully at him and felt so much pride within himself. He smiled sweetly at his mate and answered "I'm sorry for being late my king, this cloths aren't the once am used to so it was a little bit difficult to figure them out by myself." Klaus may have picked out this particular clothing to mock him but he didn't care. He loved cloths and fashion so he wore whatever he felt like whenever he felt like it. But of course Klaus didn't have to know that yet.

"But seeing how you're staring at me right now makes me realize that all my efforts are worth it. Thanks for having me for dinner, your highness." he said softly with a slow sexy wink.

Seeing the vivid flirting, Klaus snapped out of his daze and cleared his throat. And just like that, the drooling Klaus was gone replaced with a deep scowl on his face. He glared at Adrain emotionless.

"Don't flatter yourself mister. May have stared at it but that doesn't mean it looks good enough to eat." He growled irritated.

'oh my gods. I never thought I'd see the day when someone spoke to thee Erix like that and still got to live and is still very much breathing.' Elias whispered teasingly into Erix's ear. Apparently he hadn't left like instructed to, but still in his invincibility disguise so only Erix could hear and see him . Erix however was not surprised. Who was he kidding, its Elias we are talking about, he's predictable like that.

Adrain pretended as if he hadn't heard anything. He smiled sweetly at Klaus before moving to take his seat beside Klaus. However before he could sit down, Klaus halted him mid air with one hand. "You can't seat there. Its reserved" He said nonchalantly looking anywhere but at him. Adrain smiled again, nodded and took a different seat.

'ohh, and it keeps getting better and better. You even smiled this time? No come backs? No death glare? No I'd like to murder you in your sleep look? oh lord!' Elias snickers, teasing Erix to no end.

Erix had no choice but to keep up his sweet smile. He didn't want to upset Klaus than he already was. And he couldn't talk to an invincible person either, he didn't want to be seen as an insane person in front of Klaus. That'll just ruin his chances way before he even got one. But one thing was for sure though, Elias is going to be murdered the next time he's vincible. Erix could think of all the ways he is going to torture him to death

Klaus stared at him weirdly with his creepy smile, which made Adrain realize that his psychotic side was showing, he quickly stopped smiling and dropped that creepy smile.

They ate dinner in silence. It was an awkward silence with Klaus's stoic face glaring hard at everything and anything. Erix on the other hand was annoyed outta his mind. He wished Klaus wasn't beside him at the moment so he can really torture Elias who is yapping on about nonsense, to death.

He had enough with Elias teasing and yapping, "Be cool idiot or I'm going to wipe that sadistic smirk right of your face with this bread knife. Literally." he hissed lowly in his throat so that only Elias could hear him. Klaus would've been able to hear him if he hadn't insisted on Erix not sitting close to him.

Elias knowing how true that threat would be, stopped misbehaving immediately. He quickly kept his mouth shut.

"Finally some peace and quiet around here. gods!" Adrain muttered to himself, not knowing that Klaus heard him.

"What did you just say to me?" Klaus asked with a deep scowl directed toward Adrain.

Adrain's eyes widened, 'bustedddd' Elias says.

"What? Uhh.... Nothing...Nothing at all.. haha.." Adrain says awkwardly with a not so convincing smile trying to mask up his vivid lie.

"It had better be nothing indeed." Klaus says coldly.

No matter what Klaus said or did, he still looked so gorgeous in Adrain's eyes. He smiled dreamily.

"So, My king, you wanted to talk to me about something?" Adrain asked Klaus.

Klaus stared intensely at him for seconds before answering.

"Yes. Yes I do. Its about this mateship thing between the two of us. Clearly the gods made a mistake and am not going to accept it and neither should you" He said seriously with a stoic face. Trying to intimidate Adrain into accepting his rejection.

Adrain waited patiently for him to complete his sentence. Thinking it through carefully. Thinking about what to say to his dense mate into accepting him as his mate. How do you convince such an person about such matters. He's so stubborn.

"My king, why do you insist on thinking that the gods made a mistake? Is it because of my gender?"

Klaus stared at him as if he was crazy. "YES!! I'm a king, I deserve a mate who can give me an heir, and news flash, you can't make babies. I've never seen a man making babies before." Klaus says as if stating the obvious.

'He thinks you're going to bottom. Hilarious!!' Elias says with a laugh, irritating Erix more than he already was. "Shut the fuck up moron, if you have nothing important to bring to the table" Adrain hissed angrily at Elias.

"What did you just say?" Klaus asked cooly.

"Nothing. Wasn't talking to you my king." Adrain answered.

"Then who are you talking to?" Klaus asked looking at him at him as if he had lost his mind, which is exactly how the situation looked like.

"nobody in particular'"

"Great, now I know the gods are indeed crazy, they gave me a mate who has an imaginary friend, or is it multiple personalities disorder?" Klaus muttered sarcastically.

Adrain pretended not to have heard what the king said. However the reason Klaus hadn't rejected Adrain forcefully is because according to the rules of the mate bond, if one does not like his or her mate, rejection should be mutual, that way they both suffer mere pain of rejection and still get to live. If both party's are not in agreement on the annulment and rejects the other forcefully, they both die. But since Erix is a god, he wouldn't die but suffer immense pain because he's already deep in love with Klaus which Klaus knows nothing of.
