"Ellie, are you alright ?"Nate asked, still hugging her tight.
"WOW ! What a muscular chest !", Ellie stroked Nate's chest and unconsciously said that loud enough for Nathaniel to hear it.
Larry meanwhile was taking pictures of Ellie and Nate and kept laughing. Nate wasn't expecting at all what Ellie did and said and therefore wasn't sure what to say.
"Hummm...Huh... Thanks Ellie for the compliment but I was just asking if you were alright", Nate said terribly ill-at-ease.
"What ?! Huh... Yeah, I'm alright", Ellie said and then quickly freed herself from Nate's arms.
"Uh... Maybe I should go and get a change of shoes because they're filled with coffee. Humm... Larry, are you coming over to help me pick a pair ?", Ellie was ashamed of what she said earlier.
"Uh, no thanks", Larry replied quickly while looking at his phone.
"Larry!! It wasn't a question. You come with me right away to choose a damn pair of shoes", Ellie replied with an angry tone and pointed to her room.
"Fineeee!", Larry replied while rolling his eyes because clearly he wanted this awkward situation between Ellie and Nathaniel to continue.
Ellie and Larry then rushed to leave the kitchen and went to Ellie's room.
"OMG!! OMG!!! Did I say it that loud ?", Ellie said, panicking and pacing in her room.
"Oh!! Yeah!!", Larry replied before adding "even people who live across town would've heard it", and then he laughed.
"That's not funny Larry. Not funny", Ellie replied with an angry voice.
"Come on ! I'm sure he'll forget it quickly", Larry replied.
"I hope so", Ellie replied.
Back in the kitchen
"Nathaniel ! I need your signature for the contract and here is a list of little things you could do today for your first day don't worry these are just very common and very easy tasks in gardening and gardening. every time you finish a task you could check it off ", Ellie said.
"Wow! Did you have time to do this overnight? Uh, do we really need a contract, isn't that a bit excessive?", Nate replied.
"There's a lot she can do in one night honey", Larry said.
"Totally true! Yes of course we need a contract, you have to do things right and for that nothing better than a contract. Don't forget to read the contract carefully before signing it , if there is anything you want to add you can contact. Larry for Larry we are going we still have some details to work out for tomorrow's presentation ", Ellie replied.
"Yes, go ahead! ! I'll be right there", Larry said.
After Ellie leaves the room,
"Ok, finally she's gone", Larry said relieved.
"What ?", Nate said surprised.
"Listen Nathaniel ! I'm going to give you some tips for surviving in this house and in Ellie's life in general", Larry replied, looking out the window several times to see if Ellie is really outside.
"Sorry, I don't understand anything you say", Nate replied even more surprised.
"You see sometimes Ellie can be a little ... fussy. She likes that everyone does things their way and only their way", Larry replied in a very low voice almost even while whispering.
"Ahh! I see. And where are you going with this?", Nate said.
"All I'm saying is you should do things the way she told you if you don't want to be fired on your first day. Ok ?", Larry replied.
"Okay, I'll take note. Thanks for the advice Larry", Nate replied.
"Oh ! Don't mention it. I really have to go before she picks me up here", Larry said.
"Well, it touches me a lot that you try to help me", Nate replied smiling.
"Oh! Oh! Actually Nathaniel, I was speaking in the literal sense of the word. Don't say anything to Ellie because if not she will literally kill me. Well, at last she will rather cut my head off and drink my blood through a straw", Larry said worriedly.
"Larry, I got it. Don't worry I won't say anything at all", Nate replied while giving him a reassuring smile.
Arrived at the headquarters of Jefferson Pharmaceutical Industries,
As she walked down the hall to the elevator with Larry walking behind her, everyone was staring at Ellie and it didn't change when she walked the halls to her office.
"Move on ! Move on ! There is nothing to see ! Come on, everyone get back to work!", Larry said firmly when he saw that all this situation made Ellie very uncomfortable.
At that moment, she understood that everyone was looking at her badly because of her break out yesterday in addition to only 2 days of the big presentation. It wasn't the looks of the people that worried her, that she did not care completely, but rather that what happened yesterday reaches the ears of the Committee, already that it was not very enthusiastic that it is Ellie who is the CEO, since it believes that she is incapable because she is much too young for the job.
The committee is in fact a group of five persons from the family of the very first investors in JPI. Indeed, Ellie's great-grandfather was not very rich at the very beginning so he had to look for investors to be able to found his business and finance his research. The Committee has as much power as Ellie in JPI and can fire her if he wishes.
"Ellie ? Are you alright ?", Larry asked worriedly when they arrived in Ellie's office.
"Yeah, I'm fine", Ellie replied.
"Are you sure ? You seem to be...", Larry replied but Ellie interrupted him and said with a raised tone : "I'm perfectly fine Larry. Now, go back to work you too" and then Larry leaves her office.
Back at Ellie's house
"Come on Nate ! You can do it !", Nate said to himself. Well, he is in fact pruning the bushes which requires a certain talent we will say since they must all be at the same height. While Nate had to do gardening stuff all day, Ellie had to put up with the eyes and the gibes of the employees.
