Chapter 11

Wang Wei and Bai Feng have been walking for almost two hours now and we're getting hungry and thirsty. Wang Wei left the sack containing their food, clothes, and money back at the town when he got angry and killed the child. He forgot to take the sack with him when he left the town and now they are suffering the consequences.

During this two-hour journey, they met can't another spirit beast, all of them which was easy to kill. All of them mostly had high speed with low defense, being counted hard by Wang Wei slow debuff, high defense but slow, being countered by Wang Wei attack buff, with will increase Bai Feng attack strength, making killing it easy.

Speaking of Bai Feng, she became a lot more cooperative, attacking when he gestures for her to attack and retreat when he tells her to. Seeing as how all his commands were always on point, Bai Feng saw no point in hesitating when he commands her. He was always the smartest of them after all.

'Haa~ That raid boss we encountered sapped all of my energy. I can't continue.' Wang Wei thought, falling to his knee.

The raid boss he was talking about was a 998 year's old spirit bull. Unlike the other ones, this one had a savage amount of defense, speed, and pricing attack with its horn. It took them thirty whole minutes to completely kill it, slowly attacking the same place on its neck before Bai Feng was able to cut through it, killing it. Though it had a high physical stat, it had a very low intelligence stat, giving it a very low advantage against them.

Bai Feng fell on her stomach beside him, her body going numb. Normally, she would last way longer than Wang Wei, but she was the one who did most of the fighting, while he stayed in the back, almost fainting after casting the full stack of a single buff or debuff or mixing them up.

"Brother, I can move. My arms are hurting me." Bai Feng said, rolling on her back.

'Damn I am hungry. How long will it take us to get to the next village or city!?' Wang Wei thought, looking up at the sky. Suddenly, he heard the hissing of a snake, causing him to look to his left and seeing a snake slithering towards them. 'No, I can't die like this. This is just the beginning. Yeah, right about now, a strong man will come and save us-'

But the snake pounced on him, biting his arm.

Wang Wei let out a soundless scream of pain, trying to grab the snake but it slithered up it and went to bite it.

'Fuck...' He thought before blacking out due to the poison.

Inside a small room with one bed and a table, you can see Wang Wei and his sister, Bai Feng laying on the bed, sleeping. Wang Wei had a white bandage around his neck and his right arm while Bai Feng had one around her left legs.

Wang Wei suddenly opened his eyes and looked at the unfamiliar ceiling before feeling around, noticing he was on a bed.

'I survived... Of course, I will, how could I die so early in the storyline?' Wang Wei thought, feeling something on his neck and touching it. 'A bandage huh.'

He checked himself and felt nothing wrong, except his different cloth, now consisting of a brown shirt and pants. Looking over to Bai Feng, he saw her wearing a bandage around her ankle with her clothes changed to a one-piece brown dress.

'I need to know where I am and who saved us.' Wang Wei thought, slowly getting off the bed, careful not to make any sound.

Walking up to the door, he quietly opened the door to see and an elderly man with white hair standing right outside it.

"Hey, you're finally awake." The elderly man said, looking down at Wang Wei.

'ACKK!!' Wang Wei shouted, jumping back.

"Sorry for frighting you, I just came to check on you both." The elderly man said, smiling at Wang Wei. "It seems like your sister is still asleep, I guess she will wake up soon."

Calming himself down, Wang Wei brought out his Samsara pen and wrote on the air, [Who are you and where are we?]

"I am Jack, the village head of Holy Spirit Village and this is Holy Spirit Village. I found you both laying on my way back from Nuoding City so, poisoned, so I brought you here to heal and patch you both up." The old man named Jack said, opening the door wider and gesturing for him to walk out. "You have an interesting Martial Spirit, but forget about that. I made soup. Go and clean yourself in the bathroom then come and eat. Let your sister sleep in, she looks peaceful."

Looking at the man, Wang Wei didn't know if he should be trusted or not. He soon threw the question at the back of his mind after smelling himself and hearing his stomach growl.

Following the man, he was led to the back of the bathroom, removing his clothes, he quickly took a shower before changing into a new set of clothes brought in by the man. Going to the dining table, he saw the man, eating soup.

Sitting across the elderly man, Wang Wei started eating his soup. 'I will need to increase my physical attributes. The daily routine we normally do is good and all, but something else should be more efficient.

"Where are your parents?" The elderly man suddenly asked, bringing Wang Wei back to reality.

'...' Wang Wei stopped eating, millions of emotions going through his face before he suddenly burst out crying.

"What happened? Don't cry." The elderly man said, standing up and standing beside Wang Wei, comforting him. After some time, Wang Wei calmed down and the old elderly said, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

{They are dead due to a spirit beast attack on our village} Wang Wei wrote in the air with his Samsara pen, cleaning his eyes.

"Oh... I am sorry to hear that." The man said, patting Wang Wei back more. He felt sorry that a child this age had to go through all that. "Tell you what. You can stay here however long you want but in return, you have to work on the farm."

Wang Wei nodded, cleaning his eyes more. 'Stupid old man. It's so easy to trick people with this 'innocent' body of a child. Some fake cries and sob story is all that is needed.' He thought, laughing internally. 'Working in a farm won't be all bad, rather beneficial for me in building my physical ability. But, I need to know when a new term of Nuoding Academy starts.'
