Cough, cough… soon after a female grunting voice followed under the foggy atmosphere then a swoosh passed by she rolled her widened heterochromia eyes around in fear, inching backwards on the ground while breathing hard as her back suddenly hit against what felt like a wall of a building as she gasped.
Dante zoomed at her dispersing the fog in his path then the fog in-closed after passing through. He pointed the Kirin's antler slightly cracked on both sides with fading yellow sparks seen on it to her.
"Look who's afraid~" Dante said, "One could misunderstood this scenery not knowing you guys were the ones who attacked me first… gosh."
The lady didn't say a word but slightly shivered while her eyes were fixated to Dante's, only her heterochromia eyes could tell she wasn't indisposed by the Divine Humane in front of her but why was she shivering?
"Hmm, where have your tamed creature ran off to?"
Behind Dante a glowing blue eyes illuminated within the fog then disappeared. The lady took a glimpse at it then stared back at Dante.
Dante sighed, "I can't believe you're now working as a bounty hunter. Why stooped this low?"
"You are Dante right? I can't forget the face of a sick kid hiding under the wings of his grandfather." She said looking straight at Dante's eyes. "Do you still emember we were best buddies back then—"
"And is that your excuse to save your life from me?"
"Humph! Many of you said my potency was useless back then that I couldn't do anything but control birds." She countered, regretting every moments she spent while within the walls of the Humane Kingdom, only birds she could ever control. She was also teased all year round by the colors of her eyes with that she was called the bird whisperer.
Most times life as a Humane can be primarily burdensome for beings with lesser potencies' performance, most of the time those with such potencies tend to grow effectually or it could be achieved by working so hard in completely mastering it.
"Everyone has a story to tell… that's life—" Dante said before he got interrupted,
"You! Y- you couldn't help, you couldn't say anything but stayed in your big house of yours claiming you were sick when I was being ridiculed by the other kids, I remember your family shutting me out before taking you to your grandfather." Her voices cracked, lowering her head while leaning against the wall.
"That was ages ago, yes, it's true I was sick even before I met you but thankfully I'm healed…" Dante cleared his throat. "Is that the cause of your malice? That's disgusting. Just like a child."
"You're the one to talk." She raised her face to him, "I left the kingdom to show all those bullies I, not only tame birds but I can do much more than that I--"
"Where did you find a Kirin from the Dragon's lineage to tame?" Dante interrogated.
He believed Kirin were mythical creatures like the Immortals and Dragons; appeared to be a judge of good, evil and whatnot to ancient beings who lived billions of years ago--
"She was… sold to me when I journeyed far to the Empire of the Inhumane… "
"Empire?--"
"Yes. The Inhumane Empire across the ocean… the Yorub-an ocean… "
The Yorub-an ocean known to be the largest and the deepest sea in their world only few Humanes having the potency to journey that far were able to explore it however out of exhaustion with unfavorable winds and lack of sustainable provisions they fell into the deep sea thinking they'd be devoured by the sea creatures they heard from the horrifying sea tell tales existing inside the sea only to be saved by something massive that freely moves on it.
Wait a minute the paper I took near the Inhumane's village I noticed it's a construction of something that as the functions of flight when been operated…
"Is it true that they have a big tool that could float and move on the sea without ever drowning?" Dante questioned,
"… yes, I saw it myself, I even sailed on it to the Empire on a vast Island," she said, "they called it Vessel. A craft designed to move beings or creatures only on sea from one destination to the other."
"Hmm… fascinating." Dante puts the cracked antler on his shoulder. "How does it look like, the Empire, is it has the rumors."
"… yes, more than the rumors itself. On the Island many of their building structures along with their formations are divine, their ways of life is nothing but enchanting… In crafting their second to none."
Surprisingly to Dante she was responding without hesitations.
She continued.
"The Kirins are only breed on their Island, own by the Emperor with his Empress and his lower territorial monarchies there so they called themselves… I was lucky one was sold to me."
She smirked.
"If we were to go to war against them I don't think the Humanes of now could win."
"More than a loyal creature to me than being tamed." Dante stated. "Seems you're delighted about your own kind losing to them… that will be impossible and I won't kill you today because—"
Suddenly the Kirin sneaked up to him from behind, the lady widened her eyes then rolled her body away from the impact that blight the wall behind her with drastic force.
She looked behind her noticing the shattered walls with many distinct buildings collapsing as the cratered trail disappeared into the distant fog.
"Pamēla... " she whispered the Kirin's name.
"We found you. How have you been?" A voice said within the fog at the opposite direction.
"Huh?" She turned to the voice.
She slightly strained her eyes as she gradually noticed two figure walking to her.
It was the armored lady now in cloak, holding her gothic war hammer while looking around walking along side with her was a figure with two glittering eyes.
"We followed the harsh sound to here. Where is the speedster? This time I'm crushing his two legs then his head with my gothic war hammer, where is he?!" She gritted her teeth together.
"Can you walk?" The figure with two glittering eyes asked, feeling concerned.
All of a sudden in a fleck the sky lit up in orange sparkles as the fog slowly disappears. Three of them both stared to the direction of the light.
"What the…?! It's the retreating signal." The lady holding the gothic war hammer blinked.
"Should we go or check if Pamēla and the speedster are still alive." The figure with the glittering eyes spoke after.
"Don't worry about Pamēla, she'll be fine. Let's leave before anything else." Her rider responded without hesitation as she staggeringly stood up.
"Well... of course, if you say so." He nodded about walking away.
"No, leave without me, I'm staying, tell everyone and the Bounty Collector this… I'm finishing all of them alone." She held her gothic hammer tightly, walking to the direction where Dante and the Kirin may be as her hair and the cloak on her body sways behind in the short wind that passed with the choker worn around her neck slightly glowing in jade.
