Alex once again got into his stance, the color from his light reflected the image of a doll as it flexed two of its arms. Alex let out a deep breath as he launched from his position. They both met in the middle as Alex was hit by the first wave. His face flickered a little but otherwise stayed calm. He dodged the countered as they sped around the endless field.
"YOU LEFT ME TO DIE~"
The second wave hit but Alex just deflected it away his face contorting in sadness for a brief second before he went back to fighting. The doll seems to use more and more pairs as the waves progress is something that Alex noticed long ago. They zoomed around the field the doll seemingly getting faster with time as they clashed fist to fist. Alex let out a small grunt as he missed a deflection and it connected with his left shoulder. Alex continued to fight as the third wave hit. This time he let out a tear as his face was filled with raging sadness. The system hasn't said or done anything for a while so he had no one to talk to. It's just been this over and over and over and over...
Alex faltered when the fourth wave hit. This was all it needed as it swept his legs and delivered a blow to his chest. Alex's breath was knocked out as he skidded across the grass but putting his hand to the ground he stabled himself before jumping from the ground at the doll. It reacted even more so as it flew at a speed he was barely able to keep up with. The multiple arms made him have to worry about all the different attack positions so he couldn't let his mind go even for a second.
Then the highest he has ever made it, the sixth wave. Without any arms to extend it just was boosted in power which was plenty to overwhelm Alex. It appeared behind him delivering a point directly to his spinal cord. His legs went numb as the back of his head smashed into the ground. He didn't have time to react when it appeared on his side delivering an 8-hand smash to his stomach. It crushed his innards as blood spewed out his mouth. His body created a crater in the ground before everything went black. Alex's consciousness floated in the darkness for a second before he shot awake once again.
Standing in the field opposite him was the doll uninjured or even scratched. It just stared at him with one eye as its body shimmered in the light. Alex fell to his knees as all the stress and pain went to his head. He couldn't do it anymore it hurts he has to see the same thing over and over and over again, it's never-ending.
His tears fell as he looked at the doll, with a muttered and sob-filled tone he finally said.
"Please just kill me, just end my pain. I don't want to see it again I don't want to feel it ever again!"
The doll didn't move it just stared at him, It didn't show any emotion or guilt towards the current scene. Alex just sat there crying for what felt like days but was only an hour or so. Then he finally stopped. Wiping the tears and snot from his face he looked at the doll. Standing up he slowly walked up to the doll. However, it did not react it just stood there as it watched him. As he got closer and closer it didn't move an inch, finally, he was a foot away from it. It stared at him with its deep black and red eye but that's when it happened.
The smell of blood and battle filled his nose as he kept looking into its eyes. The scenery that was once the grass field turned into a barren arena. The stands were empty and it seemed that they were the only ones here. Alex finally refocused don't he doll but he was shocked to the heart as he stumbled onto his butt. The doll slowly faded as Risa took his place. She looked at him with a smile of warmth but did not talk. Burning words appeared in front of him.
~Fight me~
Alex stared at the words, he was in disbelief as he watched her slowly get into a stance. She still had the face of confidence she always had as she watched him also get into his fighting stance. This fight wasn't because of hate or violence. It burned with the passion of love and reminiscence. They launched from their positions as their hands interlocked. A fist was thrown but was blocked as another was thrown. A laugh filled the arena as Alex didn't cry nor was filled with hate, he was finally at peace. He was with the person he wanted to be with doing what they do best. Soon Risa got super fast as she grabbed his hands. Stopping in his place Alex looked at her with confusion.
~I must go now~
With that, she started to fade but not before Alex kissed her. The warmth he felt from that faded as the sound of air conditioning could be heard. The ringing of a doorbell as a game clattered to the floor. When his eyes refocused he saw Layla and his best friend in front of him. Their hands and arms interlocked as they too froze when they saw Alex. Alex stuttered for a second before looking into her eyes. They were filled with pity and a hint of arrogance, in his best friend's eyes it was filled with sadness and regret. A clear difference as Alex inched toward her. Words flew out of her and his mouth but Alex stayed quiet. He walked up to Layla and slowly raised his arms. Grabbing her on the shoulders he looked into her eyes.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I couldn't give you what he could."
With that, he pulled her into a hug that was filled with happiness. His eyes teared up as he saw his friend in the corner of his eyes. Stretching out his hands he grabbed the back of his neck.
"Although I hate that yall went behind my back, yall can be happy too even if it's against my benefit."
His friend showed a faint smile and as Alex parted with Layla he grabbed him in a bear hug. They patted each other's backs for a second before his friend whispered in his ear.
"Congratulations, you must learn to forgive rather than blindly follow your rage. It's a bad road to go down."
Alex backed away once again but not in disbelief but instead for confidence. He looked up as he saw the doll once again. Although there was no visible mouth he still could hear what it spoke.
"As per my master's orders you shall be released but before you go, he has prepared a gift for you."
Alex stared at the doll blankly before finally realizing whats happening. Letting out a smile he organized his thoughts before asking what was on his mind.
"How long has it been?"
"1 year 4 months and 3 days"
"Ah okay that's not tha- WAIT WHAT?!"
Alex's face went into shock as he looked at the doll. He swear he could see it shake a little as if it was amused by his reaction.
"As per my master's orders, your first gift is this."
Outstretching one of its arms, it opened its hands to reveal a ball of light. Alex outstretched his hands to grab it instinctively and when it came into contact with his skin it suddenly flared up. After a while, his vision finally cleared as he looked forwards and saw the doll standing patiently. Alex looked at it waiting for an explanation but it didn't give one.
"Now here is the second gift, it's painful but it's cute and you should like it."
Without waiting for him to respond or ask about the pain placed its hand on Alex's chest. Immediately a searing pain like no other burned into his chest. Letting out an involuntary groan he looked into its eyes. After getting beat up for a year straight you get used to pain up to a point. The burning sensation faded away a couple of minutes later and a lingering warmth remained on his chest. During the entire process, he didn't look away from the doll's eyes even for a second.
"Is that it or do you need to f*ck me now?."
Although Alex was joking, he could see that it actually considered it for a second. It then shook its head as it said its piece.
"No, I'm tired I want sleep."
Alex just sighed before looking away and into the forest behind them. He stood there for a few seconds as the air blew across his face and through his hair. It was only until the doll tapped his shoulder did he snap out of it.
"It is time for you to wake up, we will see each other again."
With that the doll faded and the world around them shook. Alex fell to his knees as he grabbed the ground. The world shook even harder as everything around him fell silent. His vision going black he passed out.
