I don't know you. Why should I trust you?

He was about to continue when a knock came resounding on the door. Lu Yichen glanced at the door with furrowed brows before he called in a deep voice, "Come in."

"Boss, it's me," The assistant called out as he made his way into the room, two boxes in hand. He walked towards them and continued, "Boss, you haven't eaten."

"Just drop it on the desk over there," Lu Yichen finally said before he returned his attention to the laptop interface. He commenced, "In the Han Dynasty, the date of the festival was finally fixed on the first day of the first month in the Chinese Lunar Calendar. And since then, the Chinese New Year was celebrated in each dynasty that followed."

His fingers that lay on the keypad paused and he looked at her. Mo Xin Er also raised her head and looked at him with questioning eyes.

"What's wrong?"

"Done."

She looked confused as her gaze darted between him and the laptop. "That's all?"

"No," he replied. "Too much information will ruin the essence."

She nodded in approval before saying, "But it looks kinda bland, don't you think?"

"Bland?"

"Yeah. It looks boring."

His eyes squinted and made his way towards her. He leaned in beside her to take a look at what she meant but halted when he felt her stiffen. He glanced at her but what met his eyes was the blank look on her face, making him making him wonder if he had imagined that reaction. His eyes went back to the screen and he nodded in consent, his fingers on his temple.

He admitted, "Truth be told, I wouldn't read this if I was ever given."

"So, what should we do then?"

He seemed to be thinking as his head tilted slightly, the fringe on his forehead falling on front of his face. He looked suddenly enlightened as he looked at her. "How about we procure images of people celebrating the festival and put it in between. Much better, the ancient ones. Maybe, from the 20th century."

"That's true. After all, the instructor didn't say it was forbidden for us to add our own stuffs," she replied moving a little farther into the seat.

"That's decided, then."

She went back to the laptop. Her head was down and a few strands of her head had fallen in front of her eyes. From the angle he was squatting, he could see her lips pursed. He finally said, "Miss Mo, have you eaten?"

Mo Xin Er glanced up from what she was doing, her eyes searching for his immediately. She nodded apprehensively.

"Yes, I have. Thank you for asking."

"Okay, then. Let's continue."

He was about to take his seat when she suddenly said, her eyes fixated on her wristwatch. "I think I should go. I have to meet someone." She had just received an intel regarding Su Cha and she couldn't wait another moment before dealing with things. Who knows when those thugs will try cornering Mo Yuan again?

"Miss Mo, you surely do not think I'll try to hurt you, do you?" Lu Yichen asked, a smile making its way to his face. He laughed, "You don't have to worry. I have no such motives. Moreover, haven't you informed someone of your whereabouts?"

She groaned inwardly – she thought he hadn't heard what she said when he didn't mention it. But he was so… vengeful. Even attacking her with words.

Her face held no emotions as she retorted, "I don't even know you. Why should I trust you?" She had no thoughts of telling him the true reason.

He nodded with understanding, though.

"Okay, then. Let me walk you out," He said as he packed up his belongings. She didn't waste any more time as she also grabbed her stuffs.

She slung the backpack on her back, her eyes scanning the seat in case she left something behind before following behind him. He turned the door knob, opening the door and they both walked out to the foyer.

He turned to her as his driver opened the car to drive her back to her hostel. He smiled. "Thank you for coming. I'll prepare the photos before our next meet up." He truly felt the need to thank her. She was the first girl he ever had at his place and she didn't try to make things difficult for him. After all, he didn't know how he would handle such if he tried to make a move on him. Even though, they didn't do much than talk, he found her presence quite relaxing.

"It's no problem. I had a good time too," she replied as she walked to the car. "By the way, how about we change the meeting place. No offense but I don't know wanna come here next time."

"Oh. Okay, then. You decide where and text me."

"I don't know. How about in the library? There won't be much people around and surely, not anyone interested in your affairs."

Lu Yichen nodded. "I really didn't think of that. But, that's okay. All good."

"Alright. Thanks for the ride."

"No problem." He grinned, "It was my fault you had to come such a long distance."

She slid into the car and shut the door as the engine revved, the car making its way out of the penthouse. He stood there with his hands in his pockets with a smile on his lips as he watched the car leave. But immediately the black Bentley was out of sight, the smile left his face as if it had never been there.

His face hardened and his gaze was cold as ice as he turned to look in the far distance at the tall building, a house away from his. He shook his head in resignation. Couldn't a man just have his own privacy?

He turned towards the foyer, his steps light as he opened the door. The door opened with a click and he walked in making his way to his phone placed on the table. He scrolled on it a few times before placing it beside his ear. He ordered, "Get me the details of the person on the top floor of the building two houses away from mine about five minutes ago."
