Su Cha 1

She watched as they began to talk. Su Cha was very well dressed just as Mo Xin Er expected. Girls are the most complicated creatures. No one would ever suspect the torments hidden in darkest pit of her heart.

Mo Xin Er shook her head as she brought out her phone. She couldn't afford letting Su Cha suspect anything towards her. She watched the boy sitting across Su Cha. He looked fresh and clean just like a college nerd. There didn't seem to be any other interaction between them other than familial ties.

The boy soon got up and left, making Mo Xin Er sigh with relief. She looked at the time on her wristwatch. The had talked for two hours.

No wonder her butt hurt so badly!

Su Cha hadn't left yet. She sat with her head low and shoulders drooped. She seemed to be wiping her hand over her face. Was she crying?

Mo Xin Er grabbed her half finished mug of espresso and walked over to Su Cha's booth with her phone in hand. She took a seat and placed the mug on the table making Su Cha wipe her face frantically. Mo Xin Er gave her a small smile and stretched her handkerchief to her.

Su Cha glanced at her warily, not stretching her hand to collect it. Mo Xin We noticed her caution and smiled knowingly, withdrawing her outstretched hand.

She began, "Hi. I'm Mo Xin Er."

Su Cha's eyes flickered at her words and she hurriedly scrambled up to leave in a panic. She grabbed her purse and made for the door.

"Leaving will not do you any good, Ms. Su," Mo Xin Er called out, her voice very casual as she leaned back on the chair twirling her car keys. "I can always find you if I want to."

Sure enough, Su Cha halted for a few seconds before turning back to her. Then, she returned to her seat cautiously.

"What do you want from me?" she asked avoiding eye contact.

Mo Xin Er smiled. "So, I take it as you know who I am?"

"You're Mo Yuan's sister."

"Don't be so cautious around me," Mo Xin Er replied sitting up seriously. "I'm not here on behalf of my brother."

After that, she turned on her phone and scrolled through it before placing it in front of Su Cha. Su Cha glanced at her, scared of looking down on the table and see something she wouldn't want to see.

Mo Xin Er's eyes never left hers as she gestured with her hand for Su Cha to look. Su Cha picked up the phone and looked at it.

The expression on her face morphed into shock as continued to read. Her hands shook and she nearly dropped the phone onto the floor. She placed it back onto the table and looked at Mo Xin Er.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she barked, "What do you want from me? Why would you investigate me? That's intrusion of privacy. I can sue you for that."

Mo Xin Er chuckled. She asked, "Are you sure it's me you should be suing?"

Su Cha looked at her with an heated gaze. She wondered, 'Is she here to dump money on me and tell me to leave her brother? Does she not know that he knows?'

But she asked instead, "So what do you want from me?"

Mo Xin Er clenched her palms and laid them on the table. "Do you want me to help you?"

Su Cha stilled. She wasn't expecting to hear those words.

Su Cha laughed self mockingly, "Why would you want to help me?"

"Do I need to have a reason?"

"I'm not a charity case. I don't need your help," Su Cha screamed making all the other customers look at them with discerning eyes.

"Do you think I don't know why you slapped him?"

"I…didn't."

"You did."

"He shouldn't have interfered. They will come looking for him," she said bitterly. She seemed to be trying to convince herself.

"No. That's not the reason. Stop lying to yourself. You were scared that he would judge you. Or, were you ashamed? Stop complicating things for yourself. I'm sure you don't want everyone to hear what we are talking about. So stop shouting," Mo Xin Er warned, a sharp glint emerging in her gaze. Her expression was hardened and it scared Su Cha. Mo Xin Er didn't know how to comfort the girl. But as a girl she could relate. Except if it was her who was being treated in such a way, she would have broken their limbs.

"You can't help me. Those people are dangerous. So mind your business."

Mo Xin Er laughed, "If I mind my business, will you stay away from my brother?"

Su Cha swallowed, her expression helpless for a few moments before she hardened her expression again. "Yes."

"You won't," Mo Xin Er answered with a smile. She folded her arms. "It's better you accept my help now. I won't condone anyone who will cause my brother trouble around him. I'm cruel, yes. But he is important to me."

"How can you help me? You don't know them. They're cruel. They will hurt you."

"If I can't protect myself, I won't ask to help you."

"I don't need your help. I don't need anyone meddling in my affairs."

Mo Xin Er laughed dryly and she pinned her a hard stare. "Stop letting your freaking pride get in the way. Do you think I have so much time on my hands to argue with you? I get you are worried because of what they did to your cousin. But how long are you going to continue like this. I could have handled it without even bothering to talk to you. But I wanted your consent on this. I know it's a private matter for you."

Su Cha stared at her mouth agape for a few minutes before bursting into tears.

"I'm…scared."

"I can help you."

"They…shot him," Su Cha stuttered.
