Going Back

Daniel woke up finding himself in a completely unfamiliar place. However, after raising his head and giving a quick look, he realized that he must have been brought by someone to the infirmary, since he is currently laying on a standard hospital bed surrounded by white curtains to retain privacy.

A few seconds after he opened his eyes, a nurse is already notified that the patient is awake and directly unveiled one side of the curtain.

"Good evening, Daniel. It seems that you're finally awake." The nurse said with a smile.

"Where am I?" Daniel asked, his voice a little raspy from not having water while he was unconscious.

"You're currently at the infirmary located right next to the Training Center." The nurse explained. "It seems that you've directly fainted from overworking yourself within the training arena a few hours ago."

"Where's 666?" Daniel then asked.

"Oh, you meant the person who had carried you here?" The nurse looked a little confused at first before nodded when she realized what Daniel was referring to. "It seems that he has already returned to his dorm room."

After checking his blood pressure and withdrawing the health nanobots from Daniel's bloodstream, Daniel was finally allowed to leave the infirmary. When he finally caught the fresh air outside again, he found that it is already 9pm in the evening.

Since Daniel is not in the mood to have a scumptuous feast after everything that happened, Daniel simply passed by the cafeteria and took a few nutrition tablets before returning back to his own dorm.

When he is finally back in his new home, he saw his roommate doing one-hand push-ups along the empty floor in the middle of the dorm room.

Seeing Daniel arrive, 666 instantly jumped back up and approached Daniel even when he is still reeking of sweat from his workout. "Daniel. Are you feeling fine?"

Although it sounded as though 666 is asking Daniel out of concern. His emotionless tone compounded by the musky smell of his sweat made Daniel feel a little uncomfortable instead. Therefore, he unconsciously took a step back from his roommate before finally replying in a direct tone, "I'm fine. The nurse said I was just overly tired from the training regiment and needed to rest."

"That's good." 666 nodded. "I was afraid that you might have gotten traumatized from what had happened earlier, which would make me liable to punishment since I was the one bringing you to the training arena in the first place."

"You should have thought of that before bringing me into a training arena that is on lunatic mode!" Daniel could not help but give a snort, glaring at his roommate in a rather hostile manner. "I still haven't asked you for compensation for the emotional damages I faced being suddenly thrusted into a life-or-death situation without warning!"

In response, 666 gave Daniel a scrutinizing gaze, looking up and down, scanning his entire body before stating in a natural tone, "You seem fine to me? If you are casual enough to joke around with me, then I wouldn't think you would develop something like PTSD as a result of what happened."

"Did you think what I say just now was a joke?!" Daniel shouted, feeling slightly exasperated at his roommate's behavior.

Ignoring Daniel's threats and complaints, 666 directly removed the tank-top that he's wearing, throwing the clothing into his laundry basket before he started to wipe the sweat dripping down his well-endowed abdomen with a towel right in front of Daniel's face.

Feeling like he is being ignored, Daniel directly threw a punch at the other's rock hard abs that has been destroying his self-esteem since the morning and sneered, "Were you even listening to me just now?"

Unfortunately, 666's scar-filled abdomen must have been reinforced with steel or something, as the instant Daniel's fist landed at the very middle of 666's well-defined 8-pack, it was the latter's hand that felt pain instead.

"Ouch!" Daniel exclaimed as he flicked his hand back and forth trying to ease his own pain while getting even angrier when feeling like nothing is going his way whenever he faced this roommate before him.

666 simply acted as though nothing had happened the entire time even after being hit by Daniel's fist and tilted his head when he saw the other contort his face in pain and asked, "Why did you try and hit me when your fists are so weak? You know that a fully biological arm would not be able to best a mechanically enhanced body, right?"

"You've never told me that you were mechanically enhanced!" Daniel exclaimed as he glared at 666 while still holding onto his hand that had been hurt earlier, swinging it back and forth. "If you had told me beforehand, I would not have even dared to punch you in the first place!"

To that, 666 simply gave Daniel a shrug before turning around. Without even responding to Daniel, he directly entered the bathroom and directly tunred on the shower while the bathroom door is still opened. Seeing that the other is about to completely strip himself without even closing the doors, Daniel subconsciously panicked, running towards the bathroom immediately and shutting himself out before the other fully reveals his butt in Daniel's direction.

"Does the person not have a sense of shame?!" Daniel fumed within his head as he stomped around the dorm in anger. Feeling like being angry at someone with the personality of a stone would not help his emotional health, Daniel simply gave a sigh before deciding to forget about it, since he wouldn't even get through to this roommate of his even if the sun were to rise from the west.

Though after thinking about it for a while, he suddenly realized that the sun really can rise from the west if they were to travel to the Terran Space Station at the top of the orbital elevator, making the entire idiom redundant.

While his roommate is still in the showers, Daniel decided that this would be the best time to view the changes in his skills after what had happened earlier.

Requesting his status menu to pop up, Daniel directly scrolled down to the 'Supernatural Skills' section to see if the level of his psychokinesis skill have increased. To his surprise, the result was well beyond his expectations!

[Psychokinesis Lv. 10 (Upgradable). Congratulations to the host for maxing out your psychokinesis skill! You can now upgrade your skill to the second rank. Please choose wisely.]

"System, what does increasing to the second rank mean?" Daniel asked, feeling slightly confused after reading from the menu.

[Reporting to Master! Skills that is given to our trainees at the start of the program are entry-level skills that every cultivator can have! Therefore, once our host is fully able to weid a entry-level supernatural power, they will be able to specialize their skills in a certain direction, thus getting a 'rise in rank'.]

[Since Master is binded with an Assassin System, ther is only several skills available for you to specialize that would go well with your profession. Here are the list--]

Before the system could spell out the list for Daniel, the latter immediately cut the system off and asked, "Can't I upgrade my skill to one not related to assassination? Why are you still forcing me into such a profession when I've already told you a million times that I have no interest in turning myself into a cold-blooded killer!"

[I'm sorry, since you have already been binded to an Assassin System, we will not be able to teach you any skills outside the scope of the system, Master.] The system responded in a tone slightly too cheerful for it to maintain the guise of being sympathetic to Daniel's dilemma.

As a result of this, Daniel directly fumed within his head for the next minute or so before he finally calmed himself down enough to receiving the list of skills from the System.

[Ting! Psychokinesis upgraded, you can now choose between these 2nd rank abilities:

1. Silent Kill. By increasing the precision of your psychokinesis skill, the host can diectly pinpoint the molecules of a certain area up to 25 milimeters in diameter, instantly creating a blood clot within an opponent's body, causing a aneurysm within the target's body instantly. This ability can be triggered once every 24 hours.

2. Second Chance. Using your psychokinesis skill, increase the electromagnetic force between you and an incoming object the size of a bullet, allowing for the incoming object to be repelled away from your body slightly. The force repelled is directly proportional to the speed and mass of the object. As a frame of reference, you will be able to just barely manage to twist the trajectory of a bullet fired from a Glock from 100m away so it would barely miss your body if it were fired towards the center of your chest. This ability can be used once every week.

3. Psychokinesis Advanced. Increase the range of your psychokinesis skill by the range of 100 meters. This ability can be activated once every 4 days.]
