Doubts

"M-miss... woo.... miss take me with you," The little maid cried.

Amelia glanced at her slightly. She pondered whether to keep this maid with her or not. There were still many things that she didn't know about the real owner. And, this maid had been with that girl since childhood. It would be a good thing to keep this little girl and get familiar with the real owner's personality and behavior.

Jiang Youbin glanced at her daughter and a strange light flashed through his eyes. "Yuyu, don't worry about this little servant. I will have her punished and sent away from the mansion."

"A maid who doesn't care about their miss should be punished," he sneered.

"M-master... master, please forgive me. I will never repeat this mistake ever, again," The little Ye Fei begged and cried. "Miss, please forgive me. Miss, please forgive me.... woo...."

"Someone come here and drag this -"

"Forget it, daddy." Amelia sighed. "Yu Fei had been serving me since childhood and this small mistake is indeed my fault."

General Jiang sighed in relief and smiled. "Yuyu, are you sure that you don't want to punish this maid?"

"No," Amelia shook her head. Before General Jiang could say anything else and waste her time, Amelia came up with an excuse. "Daddy, I am tired. I want to go back and rest in my room."

"Go!" General Jiang nodded.

Amelia looked at the sobbing maid and commanded, "Get up and lead the way."

Hearing that, the maid nodded. "T-thank you... thank you so much, Master. Thank you so much Miss....."

"Go!"

"Yes," The main trembled facing Amelia's gaze and turned to lead the way. Amelia smiled at her father, took Shen Li's hand, and began to follow the maid.

As soon as they were gone, the remaining people in the hall also left quickly. A complete silence shrouded the entire hall as General Jiang stood alone in the middle of the hall, looking in the direction where Amelia had disappeared. Thinking about everything that happened today, he frowned slightly. He raised his hand in the air and immediately, a man in black appeared behind him and bowed his head in respect. "Master."

"Go and find out what happened with Jiang Yuyu," General Jiang commanded coldly. "I want to know everything."

"Yes, Master."

"Also, look for the information about that boy."

"Yes, Master." The man in black replied and left.

Looking at Jiang Yuyu's behavior, he was sure that she was hiding something from him. Yes, she looked the same and acted the same. However, his instincts and his gut feeling were telling him that something was different about her. But what? He needed to know. After instructing his guard, Jiang Youbin turned around and left.

Following the maid, Amelia reached her courtyard. It was a simple place, beautifully decorated with ancient things and techniques. It was a beautifully serene and peaceful place with cherry blossom trees planted all around. Chatting with the maid, Amelia realized that this was her mother's courtyard and it was the most beautiful place in the entire Jiang Mansion. Now seeing it with her own eyes, Amelia nodded and agreed with this sentence. The place was beautiful and quite to her liking.

Even the rooms and other places were made beautifully and decorated well. Unlike the transmigrating stories she had read, where the protagonist would have a shabby room with no decorations and luxury items, spider webs, dirty room, broken floor or furniture. It wasn't like that. Everything here was top-notch quality and was well taken care of. This showed how well taken and loved she was in the Jiang Mansion. After all, her mother was the favorite concubine of General Jiang.

Amelia sighed and entered her room. The first thing that she wanted to see was the bed. Walking to the bed, she sat on it and touched it. A frown came over her lips as soon as she touched the bedding. The quality of this bed was okay and it was a little small. It was nothing compared to her bed in the modern era. Looks like the first thing, she needed to do was to look for a soft bed.

"What's wrong, miss?" Ye Fei asked when she saw the frown on Jiang Yuyu's face.

Amelia looked at her. Her sharp eyes scanned at her from top to bottom and finally, it fell on her innocent-looking face. "Ye Fei....." she called in a small, whispering tone.

Ye Fei's heart thundered in her chest. For some reason, she was scared when she felt her Jiang Yuyu's eyes scanning her. It was a gaze of a hunter watching its prey. One wrong move and you will be caught. Ye Fei trembled and didn't dare to look up at Amelia. "M-miss....."

Amelia glanced at her slightly, her narrowing down on her figure while the corner of her mouth bending into a beautiful arc. "I don't care what you have done before but from today, onwards you have to be extremely obedient to you. You will not ask any more questions and do as I say. If you serve me obediently, then you'll live longer and be more happier. But if you don't, then you wouldn't even know how you died."

Ye Fei shivered in fright. Subconsciously, her knees began to tremble, and scared from the pressure radiated from her miss, she knelt on the ground. "Y-yes, Miss. I will be obedient. I will never betray you...." she stammered out.

"Good," Amelia nodded. "Now, go bring me food."

"Okay...." Ye Fei nodded and ran out of the room.

Amelia was pleased with her actions. She looked back at Shen Li and smiled. "Little Li, are you tired?"

Shen Li looked at her. "A little...."

"Then go to your room," Amelia said.

"Okay, Sister Jiang." Shen Li agreed and turned to leave.

"Little Li, wait...." Amelia called out when she saw him leaving her room.

"Yes, Sister Jiang?"

"Tomorrow, we are going to the market," Amelia informed. "You will show me that way."

"Okay." Shen Li nodded and left.

After Shen Li, Amelia sighed and fell back on her bed. She was so tired and thirsty. After using so much of her power, she had no energy left. Her throat was aching and she wanted to drink blood but her blood source was Shen Li. She didn't want to drain that little guy and hence, had to control her thirst. There was so much for her to learn about the previous owner. Thinking about the maid, Amelia knew that she could learn many things from her. And, this was the reason for which she saved that silly maid.
