And The Evil Lord Arises
Obsessed! He did not just want immortality. He obsessed over it. He had long crossed the line between obsession and desire. What did he have to give up? Wealth? Family? Lover? He gave them all up. With an unwavering desire to live forever, he clung to life.
His desire didn’t waver, even when his skin rotted.
His desire didn’t waver, even when his muscles shrunk.
His desire didn’t waver, even when he could no longer taste food or feel the warmth.
Even when he had to give up his humanity and turn into a Lich, his obsession didn’t waver. True obsession needs an unconscious motivation behind it. But alas, everything comes to an end one day. The Lich’s body could no longer endure the passing of time.
