Washing

Mason and Ilona ate, and she tied his sling back in place.  They were silent mostly, but it wasn't as uncomfortable as it had been before.  It wasn't completely relaxed either, however.

When they were finished, Mason stretched out on their bed and held his hand out to her, beckoning her to him.  Ilona smiled fondly at him and took his hand, letting him pull her down next to him.

Mason rolled on his side, snuggling her up against his chest and wrapping his bad arm gently and lightly over her.  Ilona yawned, covering her mouth with the back of her hand and shifting, settling herself in against him.

Mason kissed the back of her neck and then a bit lower.  His hand moved over her belly as if reminding her of her worries before it moved on.

"My Love," she said gently, "Could we just take a little nap?  I don't feel up for much more than that."
