Six months passed by, since the bill was signed by the King, for relief on the businesses and pulling twenty percent of young men for patrols. The country's crime rate dropped to its lowest, and businesses that suffered before, now flourished.
Within those six months, Rebecca turned eight, and Elias was soon to be nine. The little girl decided to have a party, inviting all the young ladies in her age group. It was when Elias showed up, that she left the party, to go practice in silence.
"You left me alone, at your birthday party, with all the ladies in this town." Turning around, I faced the young man, smiling lightly. There I was standing in the dress that was rose gold, with bell sleeves, holding a wooden sword, above my head.
"I couldn't help it. The young Prince of Belfare showed up, so I decided to come here in silence." I replied to him while twirling the sword. He was wearing a light blue, long sleeve cotton shirt that was laced in the front, wearing a pair of black pants, and black boots. And His hair was still a mess.
"Rebecca, don't leave me with them. It's exhausting to be around young ladies." Placing the sword on the rack, I turned to the Prince with a smirk dancing on my face.
"Are you implying something? Cause I am also a lady." He stopped in his tracks, and widen his eyes. He realized how his words sounded, a little too late. "I'm not blaming you, they were the reason I found myself here." Walking down the hallway, and I listened to our footsteps, falling into unison.
"I didn't mean to offend you." Elias started, pausing to look out the window, "I'm just uneasy around people." Walking back, I opened the doors to let the breeze in, and the moon glowed in the sky, as the breeze brushed back our hair.
"As a Prince, you should be." Placing my hand on his shoulder, we looked out to the moon.
"Lady Willow, I have a present for you. it's a bracelet." reaching for something out of his pocket. It was a silver charm bracelet, with one the charm, that was a dragon. The dragon looked so close to the one in my dreams, that I've been having lately.
"You remembered, it's a lovely gift." Holding out my wrist, he clasped it on. And I stood there smiling at the lovely gift.
It was every day that I wore the bracelet, with any outfit. I treasured the gift dearly and remembered how the moon set its glow upon us.
Since our economy and the crime rates lowered, the King decided to celebrate. When the mention of a festival filled the county's ears, it was noticed to land on Prince Elias Flames' birthday. A day that he seemed to dread.
"What is so bad, about having a birthday on a day of a festival?" Walking down the streets I was talking on the phone -that was a birthday present from my parents- with the Prince. As soon as his caller ID showed up, I answered it without any hesitation. I was even shopping for him at the moment.
"Rebecca, if I step outside, I will be swarmed with birthday wishes." I chuckled at the statement, it was true though. Elias, has to fight to get into his car, for lessons. I'm surprised that Father just won't teach him there at the castle.
"It happens," I muttered walking into a store. From what I've noticed, Elias likes swords and other weapons, however, I was still too young to buy those. Thankfully, he also loves collecting toy cars and spending his time building them.
"You're no help. What are you doing, I hear a lot of noise in the background." He commented, I paused as I looked at the shelves of cars.
"I'm in the middle of shopping. Look I gotta go, see you in a little bit." I didn't bother with titles, it would just bring more attention to me. Hanging up the phone I turned to the store manager, who was reading a magazine at the counter.
"Sir, I'm looking for a suitable present for a dear friend, cars particularly." He help up his hand and pointed in the direction of limited edition cars. I nodded then walked in that direction, after thirty minutes, I had three boxes of model cars in my arm. All fancy cars, that were old edition vehicles.
"This someone must like putting together these." He muttered while scanning the prices. The total came out to be five hundred dollars. It was an expensive gift, that made my wallet cry.
"They do." Walking out of the store, I walked in the direction of the clothing store, which I told Mother that I would meet her at.
The streets were filled with color, but mostly the colors of light blue and gold. The royal emblem was a shield with a fire-breathing dragon. It was the reason why Elias wore blue or gold every time I saw him, outside our estate.
"Mother." Pulling out the seat, she sat there with a couple of bags to her side. All of which were from high brands.
"I arrived here earlier than you. Let's go home, it's about to get crazy with decorations." I nodded in agreement. Gerald picked up all the bags and followed behind us to the SUV. Once seated in the car, I smiled, pleased with what I got for the young prince.
Three days later, the festival...
"I didn't think you would come. After all, it is your birthday." Our wooden tips clashed together with great force, as we both strained against each other. Immediately sidestepping, the Prince fell forward, with gravity.
"I was maybe thinking you would go easy on the Prince." He muttered as he turned around into the wooden tip. "However your pride would suffer then, wouldn't it?" I debated smacking him with the tip, but Father was watching us carefully.
"Nah, Elias I think it would be your pride." Taking the sword from his hand, he caught me off guard, bring the sword to my neck.
"I think I can finally say, I won once." Kicking the sword out of his hand, while doing a backflip, I caught the sword midair.
"I'm sorry to say, that you didn't." Bowing dramatically to the Prince, he narrowed his eyes, then started laughing.
"Duke Willow, can't you convince your daughter, to allow me to win once." He looked in Father's direction and Father replied with a smile.
"When you win against her, she'll praise you." I bit my lip, trying not to smile. He came close that time, however, he was hesitant.
"Let's go, birthday boy, after all, King Flames has a speech that we must attend." I rushed down the hall, making it to my room, changing into the light blue dress, that was lying on the bed.
The dress was lightweight, so I could move around among the crowds. It did have bell sleeves allowing movement. It was a simple dress that Mother allowed me to wear, knowing I would be everywhere that night.
However, I had to look decent, for the King sent a message to our house, announcing that he was going to award both Elias and me with pins stating our citizenship. Looking out my window, It was pretty close to the time to leave, the festival would start as soon as the sun sets.
Walking down the steps quickly, without tripping, I made it to the foyer, before Father and Elias came back from the other end of the estate. Mother decided to shop, so she would be meeting us at the castle where the festival started.
"Come, let's go." Opening the door, I almost ran into a royal guard. He reached out but stopped when Elias came into view like he was scared. I planned on giving Elias his present after the ceremony, it just seemed the right time to do so.
In our separate vehicles, the Prince in his, and my father and I riding in our own. We drove to the castle, which allowed a certain number of guests. Since the King would be outside, they wanted to protect his safety. So only a few civilians and the press were the lucky ones.
Pulling around the roundabout, I pushed open the door, stepping out into the crowd of people. The King announced to the public, through the news, that he was having a small ceremony in honor of two civilians. The King however did not speak of the two individuals, he only sent letters to them.
"Lady Willow, you have come. Your seat is in the front, three seats were reserved for the Willow family." The King's servant warmed up to me, since the last time I showed up at the castle. I've been to the castle a total of five times, four of those were to help Elias prank the council.
The first was still a memorable moment, with the King and I. It was that day that I walked up on that red carpet, six months ago, to speak of a plan to help my country. It was the reason why the festival was happening.
Taking my seat beside my parents, I watched the King step out of the opening doors, to a platform with the royal emblem. The King wore heavy robes, and jewelry, that he looked slightly weak, with the weight. He wore the colors of the kingdom, light blue, and gold, as the other nobles did.
Standing there in a dress-like shirt, that laced in the front, with the fur cape. With a pair of black slacks and polished boots, he had his hair slick back, to hold his crown. The crown was gold, with peaks that held stones of rubies, edged with diamonds and other high-quality stones.
His green eyes swept the crowd and a smile slowly made it to his face, it wasn't a big one, but subtle. Prince Elias sat in the chair behind his father with the top generals and the Councilor who sneered.
"Citizens of the great country of Belfare, I have come to speak to you about two certain individuals, that came to speak of the country's interest, when it was needed." He paused, and everyone in the yard, held their breath, placing their full attention on the old ruler.
