wilted

I can feel the heavy cold

The numb as it crawls

From the wake of winter

The blossomed innocence

Carried in your floret

Wilting in the discovery

Of what rivals the heat

Wilting without preparation

I will save you from demise

And sacrifice my own

To keep you away

As the white of a hollow sun

Swirls with the clouds

Of ash and debris

And the remnants of purity

Drift from the skies

As flakes of snow.
