I looked at Ash in disbelief and shock.
"I thought you said I had to change in order to know what wolf I am," I said to him.
"It's very rare but some werewolves can dream of their wolves, but like I said it's very rare," he said. "When the next full moon happens you may change for the first time. Here lets go inside, come meet Stitch. He might not look well but you should meet him."
We went back into the house and walked into the living room. Everyone was sitting or standing around the couch that Stitch was laid out on. He was very pale and was barely breathing. Gray was crouched down beside him with his hands covering his face.
"How's he doing?" Ash asked.
"Not too well, he's lost a lot of blood," Eve told him.
"How much?"
"Too much that he can't heal himself anymore. I don't think he's gonna make it to morning," Eve said as she looked down at Stitch with a worried look.
"G-Gray."
"Yeah I'm here buddy," Gray said sitting up.
"Hey bud, I see you're looking better than me," Stitch said with a laugh. He sat up a bit and looked over towards me. "You must be Kizzy, sorry I didn't come looking my best, but it is nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too," I said.
Stitched leaned over towards Gray and whispered something in his ear. I don't know what Stitch said to him but Gray's face turned red and Stitch let out a soft laugh. Gray stood up and motioned me forward to talk to Stitch.
"We'll leave you guys to talk," Ash said leading everyone out of the living room, except for Gray he stood behind the couch.
"Kizzy I may not know a lot about you, but I know that you are very lucky to be here with your uncle. You will even make some new friends here that will also take care of you to make sure you are safe," he said. "I may not make it through the night but I just want you to know it was a pleasure knowing you after all these years of Ash talking about you."
"No don't say that, don't you dare say that you're not going to make it because you will," Gray said tryin to convince Stitch. But I think he was just trying to convince himself.
"I'm not so sure bud. But if you want me to make it can you please go to the other room with the others. I want to talk with Kizzy alone," he told Gray.
Gray hesitated before leaving to go join the others. After he had left the room Stitch looked at me and gave me a soft smile.
"I need you to promise me something when I'm gone," he said. "I know you don't know me but this is something important to me."
"Yeah for sure," I said kneeling down beside him.
"I need you to look after Gray for me," he said. "I've watched that kid grow up to what he is today. And after I'm gone he's going to be a mess. I'm only asking you this because he likes you."
I almost dropped my mouth in shock, but held it back and tried to act normal.
"I could sense it when I was resting. They mentioned your name once and his body language changed," he said smiling. "He will listen to you. I know it may seem weird for me to say, considering you just met me, but you two would make the perfect pair. I know you may not like him, or you do and you're good at hiding it, but you make him feel happy."
I sat there in silence. I didn't know what to say or how I should react. But he was right about one thing, I was hiding the fact that I do like Gray. I held my hand out and held Stitch's hand and look him in the eyes.
"I know he means a lot to you, so I promise I will look after him for you," I said to him.
"Thank you, that means a lot to me," he said.
He was about to say something else but started coughing very heavily.
"Are you okay? Do I need to go get Ash?" I asked standing up.
"No, please don't. I don't want them to worry," he said.
"They're already worried about you," I told him. "It wouldn't change how they are feeling if you told them you aren't doing okay."
As I was about to go into the other room to get Ash, I saw Gray and the others walk into the room. Ash told Gray to go upstairs and Gray yelled and protested. After Ash yelled at him Gray stormed off upstairs. I looked at Ash and nodded my head towards the stairs. He nodded back at me. It was almost dark out so I headed to my room. When I got to my door I heard a loud smash down the hall towards Grays room. I slowly walked down the hall to his door and knocked.
"Gray are you okay in there?" I asked. No answer. "Okay, I'm coming in. Don't say I didn't warn you."
When I walked into his room I saw a smashed lamp on his floor. I tiptoed across the mess towards Gray. He was sitting on his bed with his hands covering his face. I sat down beside him and put my hand on his back and gently rubbed it. He dropped his hands down from his face and looked at me with his unique yellow-green eyes. He opened his mouth like he was going to say something, but nothing came out. He moved his face closer to mine and the next thing I know is my lips were compressed to his.
