JUST A CUP OF LAUGHTER

CHAPTER TWO

After what felt like hours of doing the absolute same thing over and over again, the place had finally gotten to rest. It wasn't full or noisy like it was before and that. i tell you, is _relief. . .

Just as i was about done making my last coffee for the day, Stacy decided to appear out of nowhere. slumping down on one of the newly installed stools she placed near the counters.

"uhhhh. . .im so exhausted" she said, stretching her whole body. "you know . . ." she said, sitting upright , facing me. her emerald like green eyes staring back at me,

"wonder what Stac?" i asked. interested in whatever thing she has to say this time around. . . .i always loved talking to her, lively and funny, bubbling and exciting. blonde too___.

Remembering how back when i was little, i always told my family about how really weird they were and would never be friends with one but here i am now, not only are we close friends, I'm also comfy with her being my boss.

" i wonder why i have to own this old shack. . . . i mean, does it even look like something someone would ever imagine. I Stacy Williams doing".

"here we go again" i sighed, having already experienced complaining stacy before. . .just smile and nod is what i do.

"i could've been a uh hh fashion designer'

"hmm mm" moving back to the coffee making.

"or a blogger or even a model"

"you're not even that tall" making fun of her height, even tho we're basically the same.

she scoffed" well you're to talk. . . we're the same height and you can't deny it" she said fingers pointed to me.

"o-kayyy___if you don't want it then" placing her finger down. "why don't you, well you know just hand it over to me. . . .i wouldn't mind owning this lovely old shack" i offered, smiling at her and really hoping she agrees this time around.

'are you fucking serious!!! . . . . no way Tife" she said, crushing my sweet dreams with those exact words. did i fail to mention the problem she has with using nice words in her sentences. . .

"sometimes i don't get you" " your like one of the best doctors i've like ever known. . .well your the only doc i have as a friend and like know well" she was starting to confuse herself, i snorted not being able to contain the laughter anymore.

Yes being a doctor and all is great and awesome, with it's great perks. it's just with coffee i just can't explain it. . .it's completely different.

"and the money you make is practically enough to buy this place without even asking me to give to you but here you are . . .working for coffee and not the money might i add".

Okay she's kinda exaggerating that part of the doctor story she's on about. " i did say not to worry about the money"

"well that's why i insisted on doing exactly that and you can't convince me not to" she said, already putting her serious face on.

laughing nervously "oh . . . . you don't have to worry about that, i've been down that road before". i said to her, which earned me an eye roll from her. just as the bells jingled again . . . .catching i and stacy's attention. we looked to see which customer it was. I smiled, when it was non-other than the the old man. making his way to his favorite spot in the shop.

"i guess that's who the coffee you're making's for , his table is all your's". stacy said, bringing my attention back to her. . .only i heard none of what she said.

"uh???". . . .uhmmm yeah yeah of course. ."

she smiled " you know people might say you're weird and all but you're my weird. you can leave early when you finish, you do have quite the day tomorrow at that hospital of your's" she said, getting up from the stools and made her way towards her office.

"Hey!!. . . .no one calls me weird" only just remembering that part of her comment. loads of laughter erupted from her as she entered her room, probably going to sleep or even work more. . .always hard-working and everyone sees it. . . i wish she does too and give her self more credit about it.

Taking the coffee i made, i made my way towards the old man, getting there i could see the papers he had dug his face into. . .before i even had the chance to say a word,he beat me to it.

"if you don't mind, i'd like for miss Tife to serve my table"

"that is, if she's available now. . .thank you"he said so politely, i was about to go call me. . . . he didn't even spare me a glance.

"i see you've missed me Mr Mclay"i said smiling when he finally decided to move his head from that boring position.

"Tife??"

"The one and only" i said placing the coffee down and taking the seat opposite him.

" i wasn't even really expecting you today. . . well not that i didn't know you take my table all the time. . .you weren't around yesterday, so i had doubts of you coming today as well. . ."he tried flimsily to explain himself to me.

laughs "it's okay Mr Mclay. . . i understand where you're coming from here" i said. sliding the coffee gently towards him. .

"And i must say. . .i've missed your face old man" i said. the term i used to describe him almost all the time, caused him to laugh. . .easing and relaxing his features.

"you never seize to amaze me Tife. . . .it's really good to have you around today" he smiled reaching for his coffee to take a sip out of it.

"it's nice to know you didn't lose your touch in your coffee expertise as well. . .it still has its great elements" " it's nice to have you both back"

' well duhh. . . you can't find another me or us in this world" " and besides who's gonna be your gist-partner if i don't return" i said, wiggling my brows. the old man laughed. . . i must have a knack for this___ making people laugh. it's nice. . .
