JUST A CUP OF TIRED Ñ SEXY

CHAPTER FIVE

Beep. . .

Beep. . .

"Cut"

The snapping of the thread followed, sound drowned in the beeping noises of the monitors.

"That's amazing, you did well" Tammy stated, little droplets of sweats clearly evident on my forehead, showing how tough this whole procedure was.

Once my materials were taken off me, Tammy made an all too familiar look at me, the type every caring person has when they really worry about someone.

"What's with the sour face dear?. You did well, there's no need to beat yourself up about it. It was successful and that's all that matters" she finished, giving me her encouraging smile. It never fails to work on me.

I smiled back, earnestly "thanks Tammy"

"I'll be on my way now. . . I'm sure I can leave the rest to you?" I asked, just to be sure if she still needed my help, finishing up.

"Of course you can. I wasn't going to let you, even if I couldn't. You've been very busy this week and you most definitely need to rest" she said, taking her position by the patient.

She turned her attention back to me, scanning me with those old eyes "you'll be going home today won't you" she said rather than asked.

"Yeah"

"Good"

"Get enough sleep when you get home. . . We don't want you breaking down again. Alright?" She firmly said.

"Yes mom" trying to tease a bit, that alone felt too exhausting for me but she does love when I use that term on her, calls me her 'big baby'.

Stretching all my muscles, I made my way out of the operation room. I was sore all over. . . Damn this week wasn't exactly nice to me, gosh I mean I almost lost a patient, it was risky, something i wasn't meant to be part of in the first place. My superior who was actually given this task was a complete no show and they decided it was a good idea to give this very important patient to lil ol me.

Yawning, I couldn't help but agree with what Tammy said. I was terribly exhausted and if i didn't take that nap, there's surely going to be a breakdown and it's always never pretty.

"Hey" a voice said, snapping me out of my trance. The culprit flicking something lightly on my forehead.

"You're spacing. . .you could trip and fall y'know" ahh now that I've paid more attention to it, I realized it was that voice.

"When did you get here?" I asked the man in front of me. "That kinda hurt tho. Ouch" I smiled. Pouting and rubbing at my forehead.

"Want me to kiss the pain away?" he asked. So casually as he came to my side, walking along with me. He was my favorite and someone I've had a crush on for a while now, since I basically started here anyways. It's not as bad as before tho, I'd like to believe it was gone already. . .

"Would you do it if I said yes?" I asked, obviously joking. I think

He gave me a side glance, giving me a firm "Nope" The P popping like a popcorn.

Was I disappointed. . . Maybe.

"I'm glad I was the one who caught you spacing, can't believe you didn't notice me until this moment. Crazy" he smiled and damn it lit up that gorgeous face of his, bringing life to those chocolate brown eyes of his.

"Jeez Caleb stop with the smiles, you're killing me over here" I cheesily said.

Caleb's nose scrunched up, cringing at my lame flirting skills

"Cringe"

I laughed, damnit I can't remember if I even did that this week "did you really say cringe?"

"Yes. I felt bad for you and for my ears who had to hear that"

Sure he was acting all disgusted but I saw how he was holding back that smile.

He was looking at me a lot as we rounded up the corner towards were my station was, aka were I mostly sleep at. "You like what you see"

"You look like a mess"

"A beautiful one I hope"

He scoffs "you can dream" he said holding out the door for me so I could enter.

"Such a gentleman"

Caleb chuckled, rolling those warm eyes at me. "I watched you out there"

"You did uh" I said. packing the rest of what I needed in my already packed bag, the bus would be here soon and I didn't want to miss it.

"Of course I did, you were awesome as always, wouldn't want to miss that. Watching you operate never seize to amaze me" he said so dreamily. His passion for this work showing and he even subconsciously helped me with my bag. How cute.

"Have you finally fallen for me Mr Tayer?" I asked, some part of me might have been hoping on that answer being yes. . .might tho.

He suddenly stopped just as we got to the door too, turning abruptly. His body facing me.

"What's wrong?" I asked getting kinda worried.

"You know..." He paused. Smirking as he leaned in, his mouth finding it's way to my ear. My most sensitive one might I add. Thats a little too close to comfort for me.

"I would've said in your dreams but that's giving you too much to pleasure in isn't it" he whispered so softly, it took all I had in me not to shiver, giving him the satisfaction he's aiming for.

I always knew he noticed my little crush on him, I wasn't so much obvious and going all out then since I was extremely shy but my gestures and expressions always failed me at my attempt at hiding it. Now I was doing the opposite, going all out and I wasn't too deep in the crush like before. Right . . .? Then why is this affecting me so. . .

Breathing into the crook of his neck, which was still thankfully in my face. I did the same to him only I made sure my lips grazed the tips of his ear and surely enough I was rewarded, he shivered. And that boosted my confidence more, that meant I also affected him, which is actually a good thing for me right now.

"Should that be a bad thing" I whispered seductively at him. . . At least I think it was seductive I was too tired for this.

The silence was on for so long, I thought he was actually frozen. That is, until he started laughing.

"You really are something Tife" he said, his hearty laughs reducing each seconds. "Truly amazing" he finished laughing, standing to his full height, looking down at me.

"Come on" he placed his arm around my shoulder.

"We don't want you missing the bus. I'd love to take you home but I've had enough of you today" we trudged our way towards the exist, caleb's final destination or so I thought.

"You're escorting me?"

"Shouldn't I?" He's being nonchalant again, still escorting me with my bags still in his hands, his strawberry blonde lock looked disheveled, his eye bags showing all hints of stress and lack of sleep. Did he think he could hide that from me?.

The bus stop wasn't even that far from the hospital, sure it's a lot later than when I usually leave but I still meet the bus. So why would he escort me when this has never been part of our departing routine. . . He usually never had the time.

"Well you tell me" I said, taking my eyes off him and walking faster ahead.

Caleb slowed down, stunned by my little child like act and just chuckled. It was rich and it sucked that I liked it.

"Tife. I'm seeing you off because I can, it's not a big deal" that's what you think. "so just enjoy it you big baby" he fell back in step with me, his stupid grin not leaving his face.

"Whatever" I pouted. I wasn't happy, not because of him and his act of kindness. . . You know what that was exactly why I wasn't happy. He's just being kind òl Caleb and here my heart was, beating a thousand miles per hour. It was disturbing and I didn't like it, I'm still single even tho he knows about my obvious feelings but didn't even ask me out or turn me down. So what was this? What's with all these new moves.

"Tife" Caleb called out to me, softly nudging at my shoulder, bringing me back to reality.

He stared at me again, eyebrows raised and those warm brown pools fillled with worry. "You're doing it again. . . You okay?".

Maybe I'm just overthinking things, I was always the overthinking type. Caleb always has been the nice guy. Always has been, always will be.

Pinching his nose, I replied "I'm fine you worry wart"

I smiled. " I'm just really tired and can't wait to be reunited with my bed" looking away from him, I saw we had reached the bustop, with the bus all ready to take it's leave.

"Oh shit!. Caleb I gotta run, the damn bus is about to leave" I said, scrambling for my bags.

"See ya! And thanks. Really I appreciate it" I made a run for the bus , once in I popped out the window waving at him.

"Bye prince charming!!" I shouted. Earning a rewarding laughter from him.

"See you around crazy!!" He returned back to me, leaving me a blushing mess. It's a good thing my blush couldn't be evident, if not I'd be extremely embarrassed. What was wrong with me. . . For now I'd blame it on me being pretty much tired. . .
