Someone from the past

As soon as the work was done Amas got up stretched a bit, looked at Kahala and smiled at her pleasantly. She smiled back and accompanied him to the door, where both she and her mom sent him off. On his way out, he took a look at his phone and saw a text from his mom saying that she'd be back that day by 6 or 7 pm and there still was a bit of time for her arrival. He thought that going back to home then wouldn't do him any good as he knew that there wasn't anything special he could do. So he took off to the park where he and Avyanna had their date together, just so that maybe he could see her again, there was a very thin possibility of that happening but it was good enough to have Amas take a look. He wanted to look at her once more for some reason, on his way to the park he kept thinking of how the day had gone by and especially of the time Avyanna and Amas spent together and kept on smiling.

He suddenly felt a touch followed by a voice that said, "Shall I join you?" Amas startled but happy turned around as he recognized the voice, it was her! Avyanna smiled at him and sat on the swing next to the one he was sitting on. They started to talk and suddenly the topic went a bit dark. From talking about youth and love they were suddenly now talking of life and death. Something was off about her, he couldn't see it but he could feel it so he finally asked her, "Avyanna, are you okay? Is something wrong?? You can talk to me you know."

"You're a great guy Amas, just need to have a bit of faith in reality and your strength." She smiled as she spoke, but this time it left a kind of strain on Amas who was left thinking why would she say such a thing while she left. A kind of insecurity surrounded him, he suddenly started to feel a kind of chill when he was startled by a sudden ring of his phone. His mother asked him where he was as it had already been half past 6 and she had reached the home. "On my way mom..... will be home in 10 or 15 minutes at most." Amas started to make his way towards his home on feet running and after a while he took a ride home on a rickshaw, as he entered the home, he found his mother waiting for him inside the door with both hands on her waist with a sinister look on her face. Amas thought she had an intention of interrogating about the mess he had got in the home but she had an intention much more evil. She said, "Clean everything right now honey.", and laughed as Amas regretted creating such a mess.

He did it all by himself for 5 minutes at max, after that his mother joined in and aid, "Amas are you okay?" He just nodded and continued working, so she started to narrate a story ,

"When I was 16 or 17, I had a friend named Annu. I believe her full name was something else but this is what I remember it as, we would play with each other all the time. She loved to run around aimlessly and the reason she gave for it was that it made her feel alive. *giggles*, Then I believe our family, which at that time consisted of your granny, grandpa and me , we moved away to another city. But we would still visit your great grand dad every year in summers and that was the time of my reunion with her. We were like siblings really lovely. Even our parents bought us things in pairs because one wouldn't take things just for themselves, we did not have any reasons for anything we just did things together." She grew silent after that and Amas asked ,"What happened to her?" "She passed away, she got into a car accident like you but she wasn't lucky enough. I got the news when her mom wrote a letter to me, who later passed away of suicide with her husband. Both of them had remorse for her lost daughter till the last breath, but I was like their second daughter as they said. Even in their last message they wrote my mother to bring me up to be a fine woman." Tears started to drop off her cheeks, which she cleaned quickly and continued ,"I spoke a lot about her to you when you were asleep for those three months and maybe it's her who protected my little treasure." She smiled and rubbed both his cheeks making a funny face and he said ,"You miss her?" "Of course I do, like I miss your father." She replied, and both of them started to clean it up again.

After the work was finally done, Amas said ,"I think we should watch an anime together, tonight. There's still time for dinner." And as he suddenly realized something, he suddenly spoke again, "Is she the reason you cried that day in hospital while we watched that anime?" She just responded with a smile and patted his head and he hugged her. Then he went off to set up the anime they were gonna watch, he didn't want her to be further sad so he picked an anime movie which he knew had a happy ending, "Kimi No Nawa" Said his mother, "What does that mean?" And she added further. "It's translation is Your Name and it's a really beautiful movie." "It should be, after all you like it." She said and started smiling, she then added ,"I'll order in, I don't want to cook. what would you like? Oh no choices for you I'll order myself." This brought a momentary smile on his face followed by an expression that asked god why was he so cruel. They watched the movie together both of them keeping an ear on the doorbell for the delivery guy, the payment had already been made so they just needed to pick the food. Amas was especially curious as he wanted something good at least if not spicy. As soon as the doorbell rang Amas jumped off the couch to take the delivery, he thanked the guy and took the package. He looked into it on his way back to the couch and he started to jump of joy, "It has mac and cheese with a chicken burger! and they are for both of us!!!! I love you mom!" He exclaimed with joy as she paused the movie and replied, "The doctor did say your recovery rate is phenomenal so I guess a bit won't hurt.", she smiled at him after that and they both ate as they watched the movie. His mom indeed was a superhuman he thought as he got her a bottle of water to drink, both of them while watching the movie would exclaim at the perfectly animated scenes that made it seem like they were almost better than the real world. At times they would jump out of joy and at times they would laugh the hell out, when the movie was near it's end, she got up ,paused it and said, "You said it has a happy ending!"

"Nobody died is that not happy enough?" he replied

"NO! It isn't..." as she spoke she was interrupted by her son who said, "Calm down, just wait and watch trust me." So did she and calmly settled down at her place, grabbed the pillow and watched. "It did have a happy ending after all." She said,

"Everything has a happy part you just need to look out for it." He said and they went off to beds.
