CHAPTER 2

The nature was in sync. Melody of birds chirping and woodpeckers pecking all seemed to go hand in hand. Despite the calm and solitude nature of the environment, she was restless. Deep down she was not comfortable. The mere idea of not knowing where she was or who she is seemed to be eating her from inside out. There has to be a reason for this. There has to be.

When the clock stricked 1, the woman re- entered the room with a dress in hand. Finding ayi on the ground, she dropped the dress onto the mattress and bend down to help her up. Ayi now with swollen eyes and dry tears on her cheeks lifted her head ever so slightly to look at her caretaker. Despite the fact that she was pissed earlier, now she seemed a lot more calm and collected. Ayi no longer knew what she had to do. With a croaky voice, she managed to mumble

" What is your name? "

The woman, at the moment bent down on the floor next to her, looked at her and wondered if she was pretending. She could no longer read the girl next to her. She sighed and gave in.

" I am Quetsiya. Your sister... Are you alright? Did something happen? "

" Your my.. sister..wow I...then who am I? " Ayi struggled to get the question out of her mouth. She didn't know if she wanted to know the answer.

" You are Roohi. My baby sister. Do you really not remember anything? "

" I remember walking through the street. The cold breeze brushing through my face and all over my body. That's the last thing I remember before I woke up here."

" That can't be true.. you were right here passed out. You fought with ma and got drunk in the kitchen. It's the maid that brought you here. How could you be walking on the streets?! Also we are royalty we are not supposed to walk alone among the commoners. Father won't allow it."

Ayesha didn't know what to say. However her stomach grumbled. Holding on to her tummy, Ayesha enquired;

"I..am so hungry. Is there anything to eat at all?"

The caretaker nodded and pulled her sister up. Together they went down through the stairs.
