CHAPTER 10

The evergreen forests hummed along with the rain, thunder striking magnificently across the star lit night. The cave they resided was not as deep as expected. In fact it was hard to adjust if they both had lie down completely at a time.

Once they got in, the man spread a long piece of cloth on to the bare ground for her to sit. Ayesha looked at him, a little shocked.Never once the man spoke to her or even asked her why the guards chased her. He seemed lost in thoughts but didn't question anything. The man, slowly crouched down and stood up to go to the entrance of the cave. He then sat there, at the opening looking out at the rain. Ayesha finally blurted out.

"Who are you?" Ayi voice echoed through the cave. Her curiosity was killing her. She had to know.

The back of the man is all she could see. He sat there silently, not acknowledging the talk. The question didn't shake him one bit. Even though her curiosity was over the roof, Ayesha didn't want to probe. If he didn't want to say her, she was fine with that too. After all the man saved her.

"I don't know, you tell me. "

The answer stunned Ayesha. She laughed stupidly, just to cope up with what she just heard.

"I'm sorry what? "

The man, now turned around and looked at her straight in the eyes. The atmosphere shifted quickly. The throbbing pain returned.

" Who am I and Who are you?" he questioned without breaking eye contact.

"Take your mask off" She didn't hesitate this time. She could feel her heart beating in her throat.

" Is that all you want? "

" Yes... please"

The stranger raised his hands over to his ears all the while looking at her. He immediately pulled off his mask, revealing his identity.

Ayesha stared at the man before her. Now that she looked at him, the whole him, that didn't make any difference.

"There you go. So now tell me, who am I, Roohi? "
