As I lay on the floor, one thing was clear to me. I felt safe with him. No matter how bad things were, I knew I could trust him. The enthusiasm had worn down and I sat right up adjusting my skirt. He sat across from me on the bed with one hand over his stomach and the other hand resting on the bed sheet, holding on for support. His chest huffed and puffed in rhythm. His hazel eyes met mine and we sat there looking at each other.
Dhruv then spoke, "Are you hungry??" the question seemed rather obvious. "Yesss Of course I am!" I said tilting my head to the right.
"Well, I'm sorry princess cuz I got no food here," he said acrimoniously.
I pouted my lips and squinted both eyes accusingly. He guffawed, holding on to the bed cover. I picked myself up and went for him once again. While wrestling his hands, he knocked me onto the bed. In reflex, I pulled on his polo shirt and he fell on top of me.
It happened so quick, that we were now awkwardly close. A little too close.. My skirt had flown up and I had every urge to adjust it but at the same time I couldn't push him away. To make it more awkward, the 'eye contact contest' began all over again. I stared into his sparkling eyes which was in turn gazing into mine. He looked stupefied, as if he couldn't comprehend what was transpiring. But that look immediately took a 180. Before I knew what I was doing, I already had leaned in towards him. His face was now unbelievably close, only a few feet away and all I could hear was my heart beating faster and faster as I moved closer.
He was over me physically, and he didn't withdrew his position. Beads of perspiration formed on Dhruv's forehead. Finally I was close enough to his lips. His mouth was slightly open, gasping for breath. I could feel the world close in around me and without hesitation I leaned in. I kissed him over his pink lips ever so gently with the courage I mustered at the time. The sweetness lingered on my lips as I withdrew and rested my head onto the mattress beneath me. I could feel butterflies in my belly and I couldn't help but smile inside. Dhruv still didn't move but he was gazing at my lips. Just then, the front door swung open, followed by hurried footsteps. Dhruv immediately snapped back to reality and stood up rather stiff. I instantly rose to my feet and took my bag, which was lying on the ground next to him. I didn't have that courage again, to look at him. So I took the bag and threw it out onto the sunshade right outside the window. I hopped onto the windowsill with one leg on either side and looked back into the room. Dhruv was standing next to the bed, with his right hand fingers gently stroking his lips. His eyes darted towards me.
I didn't know what I was feeling but I knew I had to get out of there. I leaped to the ground and landed on all fours. I ran home as my heart exploded with uncontrollable sensations.
