DELTA
She had finally got home. Her parents were asleep at this time, 12:03 PM. Delta, tip-toed over to her room. Going down the hall making a right. Opening the white door. She went over to her bed. She had one prayer on her mind. Dear Lord, if you hear me, please, please, take my darkness out of me, or eliminate it or make me a robot to follow you. I know I don't believe you totally but if you're real then please get rid of my darkness somehow. . .
"I won't take it but I'll show you a future. A future of the world you think you want and how you want it to work. But note this! This is not true reality." Delta couldn't believe it. Did I hear that? Was that me? God? What the heck? Her body felt tired. And she just wanted to lay down. Must go to sleep. . . now. . .She woke with a start. Yawning Delta went over to the light switch flipping it on. Lying on the ground near where she had been laying was her in all black, But how? Oh? She knew deep down what happened. . .Was my prayer answered? Cin. . .
CIN
Opening her red eyes. Cin looked around her. Pink walls. A shelf. And. . .Delta. My Good-side. . .Of course. Delta just stared at her. Studying me? She looked at the shelf again seeing several books. "Nice reads, at least we can both agree on that without fighting. The Rig by David Henkel, Dark Forges by Peter Clark, Into the Dark Forest by Kate Onyx, Mar King by Nicolette Beebe, Bumping into a Schoolgirl by Stephendings, Alexa’s Secret by Humiliation, Our Stories by Quatainia, and Till Death Did Us Part by extrbookfangirl987. Some by friends, one by an author, some mature, one collection, and a story we haven’t read. But in the end all decent reads in their own right depending on what you’re looking for." Cin sighed, standing up. Facing the mirror she straightened her black skirt, her black jeans, socks, and shirt, we're all fine. Wavy black hair going down to her shoulders. "But you see, you made your prayer to the Christian God I made mine to the demons of hell. And what can I say? I am so going to enjoy this." Using her right hand she snapped her fingers. A dark-black short sword appeared in her hand. Made out of unearthly metals. It looked like it could weigh a bit but it was light in her hands.
Delta stood up backing up against her desk. Fear me, yes. Grabbing a pen to defend herself. How pathetic as usual. She pointed her sword at Delta, smiling. "It would be too easy to kill you now. I prefer a battle of a hero trying to stop a villain. Well? We prefer a battle like that. You supposedly have extinguished all the darkness within you, well, more like kicked it out. So now you're soooo perfect. How does it feel?" She didn't wait for Delta to answer and she didn't care. "But you will still feel pain, Good-side. Because I am so powerful now. I will kill your parents."
She then dropped her blade. As it fell to the ground it seemed to crumble apart. Then exploded in flashes of dark sparks. Delta was confused at her move but Cin already knew what she wanted to do. She kicked Delta in the gut knocking the wind out of her. But her kick was enhanced. Her prayer made her strong. The blow sent Delta flying into the nearby closet. Breaking it open through the wall into her parent's bedroom.
Their parents woke with the start. "Sleep." She spoke a demonic language. They fell back asleep. Delta groaned in the rumble of the door and the wall. She casually and slowly strolled toward her Good-side with a smirk on her face. Her Good-side had survived the attack. She looked down at her and shook her head in disappointment. She wanted a challenge. Combat is cool. "Pathetic."
Cin slowly turned her head to the left seeing her sleeping parents. Delta looked up at her shaking her head no.
"No, please, don't."
"Oh, I am shocked? So we care about them? They indoctrinated us. Years ago. Before you had us join Christianity for 2 years you hated them. We do not have to be enemies Delta. Join me? And together we will destroy all those who belittle us and wish to control us." I made my offer now will she accept? Probably not. She snapped with her left hand and two daggers appeared.
"I will never join-"
I expected that answer. She threw the daggers. Both flew magically in the air toward their targets' necks. "NO!" Delta screamed. The daggers crumbled away then exploded into dark sparks. She began to cry.
Cin sighed kneeling down next to her Good-side. "We used to be human once. Normal once. Then with our Grandfather's death. You were alone. So you tried to say you made a friend or that you made a separate personality. You birthed me in that moment. From yourself. I don't know what I am even because of you! And your messed up mind. I am not sure if I am a demon or a separate personality of insanity. You even made the dumb decision that porn and sad videos will comfort us. This is the world you created. You ask for perfection but you're human. And humans are not perfect. So you can never have a perfect world. Born with darkness from the day they're born." She paused letting Delta think on her words. Their words. The truth.
"I remember it was only Delta. . .No Delta and Cin. Before the lying, before stealing, before sadness, and before porn. You were an innocent person. But not quite. You did lie at a young age. Punched some of your siblings even when they didn't want to play with you. Darkness since day one inside of you. You will never be perfect, we will never be perfect and because of me, I will make your journey harder. Because we have two separate views most of the time. I am. . .I guess I am something like your sinful nature or voice of doubt and reason, or somehow a separate personality you created, or somehow all of them?"
"Maybe if you and I trusted people we could get help and-"
"I trust no one," Delta replied.
"Of course. . .I mean I don't either or we don't. But we should? Right? We shouldn't close everyone off. Granted we're shy when it comes to meeting new people. But just because they're from the other sex doesn't make them an enemy or that you can't relate. I mean we did make a promise not to marry but it's not like every guy we meet wants to marry us. We don't have to shut people off because of our promise. They. . .I would say they can be useful to us."
"How dare you!" Delta stood up. "How dare you bring up our promise! That's a secret! The Christian God is a promise keeper. I intend to be one also. Yes, I did make that promise and I intend to keep it even if it means not being friends or never becoming more with certain people."
"So let me understand this? A young girl is born a few weeks early. Raised Christian by her parents or they tried to indoctrinate you. She doesn't buy into the church thing. Her grandfather dies. Prompting her to get sad and watch porn. And then I show up? Because of. . .Special stuff I don't know?! Then you go to Christianity after 3 years of sadness. 2 Years as a Christian. Just to walk away from the faith because things got tough? Now here?"
"Yes. . .That sums it up," Delta said nodding her head.
"Didn't you make a promise?" Cin asked. Delta gave her a puzzled look. "During those 2 years as a Christian that you would follow God forever? Seems to me like you have broken a promise."
"That is fantasy from the past! Christianity was good but it was too hard! And nothing happened! We-"
"FANTASY?! FINE, MAYBE IT IS! BUT! It was real to you back in the day! It made us happy. I offered to kill us by suicide to save us from sadness and your porn addiction but you. . .You saved us with your religion. So stuff did happen! Oh, and did you say too hard? A wise man once said you have to go through challenges to continue to improve."
"No, no, no." Her Good-side began to say.
"It's the truth," Cin stated. She shrugged. "And if you are not willing to hear it and listen then a person like you deserves to die. I tried to save you just now and guide you back. But apparently, you like other things more than the truth. That's fine with me. I can adapt and help us but also be a thorn and a voice of doubt in your head. In whatever worldview you land in. I'll always be in you!"
Delta began to scream. "GET AWAY FROM ME CIN! WAKE UP! DELTA WAKE UP!" And the nightmare of truth ended.
