"Don't worry. You will see me again."-Amy Miller
DELTA
Amy Miller, her friend, had left to go to Girl Force, a private organization. Training young women to receive nationally recognized certifications. Delta hopped into the van. Sitting in the back with Friday and Freya Harrison. They talked about MTG (Magic: The Gathering). Girl Force. Delta was so excited for her friend. I can't wait! She screamed in her mind!
Friday smiled at her as they talked and she smiled back. Then Cin spoke. "They are pathetic." She and Cin sat beside each other in a movie theater on the screen was what she could see out of her eyes. Her friends.
"No, they're not." She retorted.
"But look at them! What do you see?" Cin looked at her. Her red eyes seemed to pierce her soul if she had one.
"I see fellow human beings. But more than that. Friends. But more than friends. Family. We- I mean I was once a part of their Christian family. We had glorious times. Honorable. . .not really but I tried. When I was one of them. But-"She sat there thinking.
She and the Harrisons laughed. Mrs. Harrisons had the GPS on while she drove the three friends to the airport.
"But the Christian god betrayed us! Friday knows and Freya knows. They know about your unbelief because you made us tell them. You talk to Friday. Now she clings to hope that we can be redeemed. Maybe you can but not me. I. Cin. Your darkness. There is no redemption."
"Hello, my-selves." Both Cin and Delta looked up. Another girl. Another piece of them. From the past. She dressed in black like Cin. Same black hair. Vanilia skin. But instead of red eyes, she had black eyes. She smiled at them. A devilish smile. "At ease," They slowly sat down. The girl sat down on Delta's left while Cin sat on her right.
"Who are you?" Both Cin and Delta asked.
"You can call me Death." Both Cin and Delta said nothing as they stared daggers at Death.
"Part of the Trinity Demon remember or have you all forgotten about that?" She shook her head at them as if in disbelief and shock. "I am hurt you don't remember me."
"We do," Cin spoke.
"Yeah," Delta chimed in. Clenching her fists Gritting her teeth. Anger? She hated Death, another thing from her past.
"The Trinity Demon was an idea. A personality. Inside us or you Delta. Remember? We were the first then were pushed aside because we chose Christianity and God. You locked us away! Because of religion! Fuck you!"
"Where are your other two sisters?" Cin asked.
"We're right behind you." Two voices replied. Delta and Cin turned in their seats. Seeing Girls similar to Death. Conquest. They had the same skin color. Black eyes. But the main difference was red hair and red nails. The other girl, Aezlith, had white hair and white nails. But the same cold dead black eyes.
"How did you get out?" Delta questioned them.
"Well," Conquest began. She leaned forward. "Ever since you began to be conflicted in your beliefs it would seem our cell wasn't as strong as you thought and now here we are."
"You all are just pathetic." Cin snarled.
"Cin right?" Aezlith asked."
"Yes," Cin replied.
"You're pathetic." She turned back to the screen. Delta on the outside was now watching her friends chat. She remained silent. Due to the conversation, she was on the inside. "Would you look at that silence? From us. When we were around before Cin you always were the mute one Delta." Aezlith stated.
"I am not mute." Delta looked over her shoulder at Aezlith staring daggers.
"Now there's the tough bitch I remember. Fighting us. We were helping you. We were your friends then you locked us away. I thought you said friendship is power." Aezlith retorted.
"I hate all of you," Delta stated. 4 faces turned to look at her.
"We all hate you." They said in unison.
"Cin? Really?!" Delta said. She hated being teamed up on by whatever they were. Demons. Alternate personalities. Something else.
"Sorry," She replied. "It's the truth Delta. I mean I hate these lesser beings that surround us but I hate you also."
"Cin," Aezlith began. "We all know you're an egotistical maniac who loves to show their power or destroy people to prove you're more powerful. In other words a bully."
"Fuck that description of me!" Cin yelled.
"But it's the truth," Aezlith replied. "Now, Delta." They were watching her. She felt uncomfortable. She hated the spotlight and being called out. "You created us? Gave us names? We helped your shattered mind. We helped your shattered heart. Perhaps that's what we are? Shards of you. Broken pieces of you. Parts of you. And now here we are in an interesting relationship. All trying to take the wheel. All wanting control of this car. You have control because you were the first one here. Strongest one here. But now. . .Your strength wavers. We are rising."
"What are you saying?" Delta asked.
"What my friend is saying," Death answered. "Is that sooner or later you won't be in control. Either Trinity Demon or Cin. You're losing your cool Adams."
"I won't allow any of you to be in control!"
"They speak the truth, Delta," Cin announced.
"You know what fuck all of you!" Delta screamed.
Cin shook her head no. Leaning forward. Facing Delta. "You must figure out what you believe in, Delta. Otherwise, you will be taken advantage of. No more middle ground. You will have to make your choice. And that conviction or choice will strengthen you. It will be scary. Every bone in your body will shake. It will change your life. You made the choice for all to leave the church. Which was a good call. But now-"
"I am in between. I can't decide. I want to return but I want to believe in nothing. No gods. But there is a part of me. A small piece that believes in the Christian God. Something from my Christian past is still in me." Delta screamed in frustration.
Aezlith. "I may hate you but I bet whatever choice you make someone in your life will be proud of you."
