Chapter 8: They Have Betrayed Us Again

Due to Delta's past and the hate, she carries when she learns of betrayal from her sister and she loses it. Cin and Aezlith try to talk sense into her.

DELTA

She pushed open the double doors. Entering a dark room with a desk. Behind the desk was Cin sleeping in a chair. "They have betrayed us again."

"How so?" Cin shot up.

"They offered MTG in the hangout chat. Then later on they contacted our younger sister to play their stupid game Nemesis. Fuck their word and fuck their trust. I trusted. . .No, we trusted them."

Cin simply yawned. "Didn't you make us say something along these lines? I woke up not too long ago? Very tired probably won't come over and I don't feel like MTG over video call."

"Well, yes but later on I felt better and more energized for MTG. They know how much we love that game. But then later in the day they only catered to our weak pathetic sister. She is stealing the Harrisons from us!"

Cin blinked. Then rubbed her eyes. Tilted her head. "You're crazy, Good-side."

"And you're not listening!"

"She is," Aezlith said, stepping from the shadows.

"Aezlith, they are hurting me!" Delta exclaimed. "My sister is hurting me! Only wanting to play Nemesis. Never caring about us and what we want. I've sacrificed so much for this family and get no credit."

"Bye!" A shout echoed into their head. Their sister on the outside world was leaving.

"No," Delta said under her breath on the inside. Both Cin and Aezlith heard her comment. On the outside of Delta's inner conversation, she sat in an adjacent room and she thought about how weak and pathetic her sister was. As her sister left the house. Her sister didn't know. Do I feel bad for doing that? No! She is taking my friends! NO!

"Well, if you want my opinion. I think you're exploding over a small thing." Aezlith said.

"It's not small, it's important. They mentioned MTG yesterday. They mentioned it today in a text. Only to just stab us in the back! I hate them! And I hate my sister!"

"I could deal with her?" Cin offered.

"No, not you!" Both Delta and Aezlith snapped. Cin jumped. Then regained her cool.

"Whatever, I don't care anyway," Cin responded.

Aezlith cleared her throat, getting her two sisters' attention. "I'll have you know Delta that this doesn't have to end with you hating your sister. Because we both know what happens next. Cin knows. A vicious cycle that you will repeat. You are filled with so much hate against your siblings and your friend. Then you have hatred for God-"

"I do not hate something that doesn't exist." Delta snapped. "I mean listen to yourself, you are listening to yourself, right? Your accusation doesn't make any logical sense. Hating something that doesn't exist. If there is one thing I hate, it is traitors and people who leave me alone!"

"Yet, almost all the words you said just now were lies." Cin countered. "I am practically you! I know what you believe and you do believe in some version of the Christian God still. A twisted version of the Christian God oh looking at every single evil there god has done as if he didn't care at all."

"Oh, I bow before you Cin: The Wise!" Delta mocked her. "Cin: The Better, Cin: My Doubt, or should I call you Cin: The Tormentor! Torment? That was your original name. I gave you. But anyway. . . You expect me! To look at God's good deeds? Well, let's look shall we." She moved closer to the desk and opened a drawer producing a Bible.

"Let's start at the beginning, shall we? Genesis, right?" She smiled at them devilishly She flipped to Genesis 1. Did a quick scan. "Oh, would you look at that? NOTHING!" She threw the book across the ground.

Cin shook her head in silence. Aezlith didn't say anything. Cin got up. Walked over and retrieved the Bible from the ground. Delta scowled at her as Cin came back she seemed to be pondering something. Then she opened the book to Genesis 1. "Would you look at that? Genesis 1:27. God creates man. That's something good. You wouldn't be here without him. And if you wouldn't be here that means we all wouldn't be here either."

Delta shook her head. A smile spread across her face. "Creating man? Something good? I think when people enter this world. . . Coming to face their problems and demons. Many find living to be a curse. And if he is real then he cursed us all." She then stormed off leaving the two of them.

CIN

"Cin right?" Aezlith asked. Cin nodded.

"Yes, that's right. And you're Aezlith part of the Trinity Demon?"

"Correct," the girl answered.

"Cin what are you?" Aezlith questioned her. Cin had her answer ready. She looked up at her smiling.

"I am your better." Cin shrugged as if saying that's all.

"You are Delta's doubt but yet more than that? Her darkness but yet not truly her darkness. You're a part of her. You are her. But a frag-"

"Don't compare me to Delta!" Cin hissed. She stood up, closing the distance between them. Her hands reached for Aezlith's throat. She began to choke her. Aezlith gasped. Her hands shot up to try to pry Cin's hands off of her. "If you ever say I am her, ever again. I'll kill you." She released her grip. Aezlith began to cough and fear painted her face.

"I promise you. If you call me Delta again I'll kill you. What I am is far more complex and strange than you realize or maybe you already know. So you have been warned, friend."

"I don't doubt it." Aezlith finally said. "You are after all more honorable than Delta who is a loose cannon."

"Correct. Aezlith. I keep my word." Cin replied.

"But know this!" A voice shouted. Cin and Aezlith looked up in alarm. Death entered the room. She walked over to Aezlith. "You threaten her? Then you threaten me. Which-" Death was saying until another voice spoke up.

"Which means you threaten all of us." Conquested finished.

Cin shrugged. "You think I care? I don't care about anything. Besides the future of this body. And if you stand in my way. . .I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" But she wasn't done. "YOU THREE THINK YOU CAN KILL ME?! I KNOW WHAT I AM! I AM THE FUTURE! YOUR BETTER! You are all the past. I have been forced by her to be a monster.
