My name. It’s Sapphire.

POV Sapphire:

It has been a week since I woke up in this hospital and my stuff was dropped off by that blonde huntress a few days ago. I had checked and nothing was disturbed or missing. Even the photo was there much to my relief, as if I am to go back there I at least have them to accompany me.

With a combination of medical treatment my aura passively healing me, I have recovered enough to move around without much pain. Although I am still not able to do anything too strenuous.

I haven't been able to escape due to the constant watch the hospital staff has on me. After asking, I was told that it is protocol to have patients with self-inflicted wounds under constant watch. It isn't all bad though, as my kidnapper hasn't shown his face since when I first woke up. The nurse has also been rather kind to me.

I'm just extremely confused as to why I am still here. I was sure that I would have been shipped off to that wretched place by now. Maybe they are waiting for me to fully recover before doing so, but why would they be so generous.

Shaking myself out of my thoughts, I get up out of the bed to look out the window and see the same morning view I've grown accustomed to.

-Step Step Step

-Step Step Step

Suddenly, two sets of steps approach the door, likely the doctor and nurse hear for a morning check-up.

-knock knock

I hear the door open and look over to see not the Doctor but that white-haired man.

I turn and look back out the window to the streets below, and say with a hopeless tone, "So, you finally decided to end this charade, huh."

"I'm afraid you misunderstand, I am here to have you meet someone," He says with some mirth in his voice.

Irritated, I turn around to tell him off, only to stop in my tracks at a familiar unshaven face.

"Still Shorter than me I see, little fox," he says with a cocky grin

"Old man??? Wha…?" I say, my confusion palpable. Is Qrow working with the white-haired man? Is He here to help the old man take me back? But, why?

Noticing this Old man Qrow clarifies, "First of all, whatever you are thinking stop. I'm only here to solve some misunderstandings."

"What misunderstandings….?" I slowly let out deciding to trust him for now.

"Well, for one, nobody is planning on taking you back to that facility, and second, I'm not old," He finishes in a joking manner.

"But why else would he kidnap me?" I reply with obvious doubt.

"Ok, so that guy over there is Ozpin, he's the headmaster of Beacon" he states while gesturing at the white-haired man.

The white-haired man, not Ozpin, greets, "Hello."

At that revelation, I tilt my head and ask, "Why does that matter?"

"Well, he wanted you to attend but he figured with the way you reacted to Glynda, the blonde huntress, that you wouldn't sit down and talk willingly," He says while noticing my rise in anger.

"So you're telling me, he sent people to break into my home and kidnap me because he wanted to talk!!!! What bullshit are you spouting!!! Why would he need to do that!!!" I yell out.

"Hold up young lady I did no such thing. All I did was send people to follow you with the intent of having them convince you to meet me." Ozpin says. "Wherever did you get that from."

"Don't Lie to me!!! I know what happened!! They broke in!! I say it with my own two eyes!!!!" I yell.

"They did what?" Ozpin said with a very serious tone of voice that killed my momentum.

"T-they broke in. One came unlocked the door, came inside, and walked toward my bed, while the other's covered my escape roots." I say.

"You two continue your conversation. I have to make a call real quick," Ozpin says and then immediately leaves.

"Listen, kid, I know Ozpin. There is no feasible way he would resort to kidnapping," Qrow starts.

"But---" I try to talk but am interrupted.

"I know, and I believe you know what you saw, but trust me here, okay, give Ozpin a chance"

"I-I-I don't know, what if you're wrong old man," I ask with a wavering voice.

He puts a hand on my shoulder and says, "Then I'll hunt him down myself. Also, don't call me old man."

POV Change Ozpin:

After leaving the room, I quickly pull out my scroll and make a call. I need to figure something out.

"Yes, Headmaster," I hear Glynda say over the phone.

"Where are the four recent graduates that I sent to recruit the girl," I ask somberly

Hearing the tone of my voice Glynda replies, "I don't know sir, they left the city immediately after they regained consciousness, but I'll look into it."

"Very well, inform me when you find anything," I say and then hang up.

'Somethings not right here.' I think to myself, as I turn around to re-enter the room.

POV Sapphire:

As Ozpin comes back into the room I grow visibly tense. Qrow notices this and puts his hand on my shoulder in an attempt to calm me down. It doesn't really work but the thought is there.

Ozpin walks over to me and speaks, "I'd like to apologize to you, young lady, it seems some people I hired had made some actions that I do not condone. That being said I do believe we got off on the wrong foot, so let's start over. I am Ozpin headmaster of Beacon Academy, and I would like to invite you to attend."

I take a deep breath and feeling reassured with old man Qrow's presence behind me, I speak concisely, "Listen Ozpin, I don't trust you, and I don't think we can just start over, but Old Ma--," I say but am interrupted my Qrow lightly hitting me on the head.

".....Uncle Qrow…. convinced me to give you a chance, so I will accept your offer," I finish.

"Wonderfull, I'll have Glynda send you and specifics, but initiation has unfortunately already passed, so I will have to work something out, for now just rest and recover, I'll be back when everything has been set up," Ozpin says as he stands and motions to leave.

Before he can leave, however, I call out, "Sapphire."

"My name. It's Sapphire." I say a little louder this time.

"That's a wonderful name, Young lady," He replies with some mirth.

"Thanks, it was given to me by wonderful people," I feel a complicated smile form as I remember the smiling faces now only visible through a photograph.
