Not Dead Yet

POV Sapphire:

Darkness. Darkness as far as the eye can see.

Is this the afterlife….

Why…

WHY….

WHY!!!!!

Even in death, I'm denied the right to see my brothers and sisters, is that it!!!!!

Whatever….

I guess it doesn't matter anyway.

I just lay there, unable to do anything, for who knows how long when suddenly, light violently tears through the darkness, and consciousness returns to me as I open my eyes.

The first things I experience are annoying beeping and the pungent medicinal smell unique to hospitals. I blink my eyes a few times to clear my blurry vision, only to see that I am laying on a hospital bed; connected to an I.V., a heart rate monitor, and an oxygen mask. As my mind slowly returns to clarity, I realize,

I'm not dead, am I? I feel a smile make its way to my face.

Hahahaha, funny, even if I realize that I'm going to be sent back to that damned facility, I can't help but feel joy at being alive. My joy was short-lived though as I felt a pain in my side, so I lift my hospital gown just to see bandages wrapped around my waist.

I quickly lower the gown as I hear someone approach the door to my room.

The door opens to reveal a nurse, who upon seeing me awake, immediately turns around and leaves to inform a doctor. I just lay there and look at the door, still a little dazed. An indefinite amount of time later I hear a knock at the door, and then a woman enters the room. The woman, who I presume to be the doctor, walks over to me and removes the oxygen mask. She then does a few tests, asks me a few questions, and then leaves.

I wait there, with only an incessant beeping that regularly interrupts the silence. After what seemed like hours I hear a knock on the door again, and someone walks in. Only this time it's no a doctor or nurse, it's that white-haired man who sent his huntresses and huntsmen to kidnap me.

I visibly tensed, ready to flee at a moment's notice, "ARGH," only to flinch and cry out from the pain in my side.

"Calm down, you will reopen your wound," The man says calmly.

Still wary, but partially taking head to what the man said, I wait to see what he does.

"Not that easy, huh. Oh well, I'll get to the point then. Who are you?" The man asks, confusing me in the process.

"What do you mean? You're the one who came after me!! ARGH!..... Shouldn't you know that?" I state audibly and visibly agitated.

"I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean, young lady, I do not know who you are." The man asks amiably.

"Whatever, when are you going to send me back," I ask, having given up on escaping due to my injuries.

"Back where, miss," The man asks, pissing me off.

"Don't play games with me!!!!! ARGH!... you know where." I belt out, only to cause myself pain.

"I'm afraid I don't, miss," He says continuing to feign ignorance.

"Do I have to spell it out to you for you to have your fun, huh! The Grail Facility. Project EDEN. Ringing any bells, asshole!" I say almost crying at this point.

"I'm afraid I don't know what you're referring to," He says trying to push me further.

Crying at this point, I weakly say, "I'm not going to play your games, just leave."

"Very well, I'll be back once you've calmed down a bit." I hear him say, as he walks out.

I then slowly drift off to sleep, while attempting to calm myself to no effect.

POV Change Ozpin:

I exit the girl's hospital room more than a little frustrated, I must admit, but I can't really blame the young Faunus, as she clearly has some reason to be so fearful and distrusting, but that conversation went nowhere. Well, not nowhere, I got something. Project EDEN and The Grail Facility. It's not much but a lot can come out of names if the right hands look into it.

.

As I make my way out of the hospital in deep thought, I see MS. Goodwitch here to bring me back to Beacon.

"Did, she wake up?" she asks.

"Yes, she did, but my attempts at conversation went nowhere." I say, " Let's talk more in my office.

Timeskip (Ozpin's office):

After the elevator doors open up, I make my way over to my desk and sit in my chair. Ms. Goodwitch followed after me and stood in front of my desk.

"Now that we are here, Have you heard of Project EDEN or The Grail Facility?" I ask, not expecting much.

"No, I haven't. Why?" She replied.

"Those were the only two things I was able to get out of the girl before she shut me out," I state, venting my frustrations out at the end.

"Hmmm, as much as I hate to say it, have you tried asking qrow," She suggested, with a hint of discontent.

"I was thinking the same thing," I state, already making the call.

It rings for a few seconds before being answered by a gruff voice, "Heey, Oz, you calling to invite me out for a drink, for all the work you've made me do recently."

"No, unfortunately not, I instead have a couple of questions that need answers, if that is acceptable," I reply with some humor.

"Ask away," Qrow says.

"Have you heard of either Project EDEN or The Grail facility?" I ask seriously.

Silence…..

"Where did you hear that," Qrow stated somberly.

Bingo.
