Introductions

POV Sapphire:

I look around the dorm to see Yang and Blake sitting on Blake's bed, Weiss sitting next to me on my bed, and Ruby sitting on my desk chair. We had gathered like this to have a group introduction for my sake. The others likely know a bit about each other, but this is the first day I have met any of them.

"Alright, Who's going first," Ruby starts the conversation.

"I guess I will," Weiss volunteers.

I turn my attention onto her and Wait for her to start.

"Well, I am Weiss Schnee heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. I came to Beacon in order to fulfill my duty and become a huntress. I wield a Multi Action Dust Rapier that I named Myrtenaster. My semblance is Inherited by all members of my family, and it is capable of many things. The uses are too many to list off so I will show you before we start team practice this evening," She concisely introduces herself.

"I have heard a lot about the Schnee Glyphs. I am looking forward to confirming how much of that was simply rumors," I reply.

There is clearly more to herself than she is letting on, but I understand. Everyone has their secrets, so I will respect Weiss's will to keep hers.

"I can go next then," Yang volunteers with a laid-back tone.

"The name's Yang Xiao Long, and Ruby is my half-sister. We have different mothers. I want to be a huntress to fight monsters and save people. I wield Ember Celica, a pair of Dual Ranged Shot Gauntlets that I had made myself back in Signal. My semblance is called Burn, and it allows me to absorb kinetic energy to make myself more powerful," Yang stated.

"Simple but powerful," I complimented.

"I'm next then, My name is Blake Belladonna. I am going to become a huntress to help make the world a better place. I Wield Gambol Shroud, a Variant Ballistic Chain Scythe with four forms, a katana, a cleaver-like sword, a kusarigama, and a pistol. My Semblance, Shadow, allows me to create shadow clones of myself that push me in a direction of my choosing. I can also use them to take hits for me or distract opponents," Blake finished.

"Well, I guess it's my turn now. I am Ruby Rose, and as Yang said I am her half-sister. I want to become a huntress because that's what I always dreamed of being. I want to help people and this is how I plan on doing that. I Wield Crescent Rose, a High-Caliber Sniper-Scythe, that I designed and built myself…. My semblance is Petal Burst. It allows me to move very quickly while leaving behind a trail of rose petals," Ruby said as she held herself back from a monologue about her weapon.

"That's great. Speed is always helpful," I compliment.

With that everyone had introduced themselves but me. I look around to see everyone has turned their attention to me, anticipating my introduction.

"Well, I guess it's my turn now. I am Sapphire. I do not have a last name. I never did. As for my reason for becoming a huntress, well, I want to help people, and being a huntress kinda became my path to doing so. I wield three weapons, a bow, a longsword, and a dagger. All of them were designed and crafted by me. The Bow I named Kindred's Bond. and it fires arrows I make using my semblance. My sword I named Misery's End, and I use my semblance to enhance my attacks with it. The dagger I call Grief's Silence it's an aura piercer," I start, but, before I can continue, Ruby interjects.

"What's an Aura Piercer?" She asks.

"Their a type of weapon specifically designed to be hard to block by aura, but they were only theoretical. How did you manage to make one?" Weiss answered Ruby's question and asked another on top of it.

"Well, I'd rather not talk about it, if that's okay. I wasn't exactly in the best of places mentally at the time," I reply with a stiff smile.

Seeing as no one decided to question me further I continued, "Anyway. My semblance. I call it Dust Born. With it, I can produce and control lightning, wind, ice, and fire. I don't know the full extent of my semblance's capabilities, but, then again, who can say they do?"

"Oh, so that's how you were able to perform like that in your initiation without any dust!" Yang exclaimed.

We then proceed to talk about our experiences during initiation, but that didn't last too long. There just wasn't a lot to talk about, so we still have a couple of hours till the arenas open.

Weiss made a suggestion in the silence, "How about we use this time to study?"

The question was met by groans from Ruby and Yang, and Silence from Blake and me.

"Come on, We need to begin to catch Sapphire up to the current curriculum. Thankfully it has only been two weeks, so not much has been covered," Weiss argued, gaining a round of reluctant agreement from the room's occupants.

---------------------------------------------------

Through a series of spoken tests issued by Weiss, we have concluded where I stand academically.

As far as combat goes, Weiss didn't even bother. She had said that any lessons taught in the class were either personalized or almost common sense, so there was no catching up to do. In Grimm Studies I am more than able to just jump right into class without being behind, but that was expected. In Plant Sciences I am a bit behind, but nothing an hour or two of studying won't fix. Stealth and Security haven't gotten off the ground yet, but the little taught is within my knowledge. Weapon Crafting and Upkeep is similar to Combat in that the lessons were mostly personalized, but the things that were not were far from common sense. I will have to catch up with this one. Finally, History, My knowledge in this field is rather skewed. I have plenty of know-how when it comes to military and warfare history, but anything else besides common knowledge might as well be non-existent. If this was anything other than history, it would take a while to catch up, but since it is all I need to do is read through the parts of the textbook that was already covered in class.

After Weiss had successfully bored our audience of Yang, Blake, and Ruby to death, it was finally time to head to the arena.
