"Mom! I'm going now!"
"Becareful Mayu! Have a safe trip!"
"Yeah see you later, Mom!"
Azaki glanced at his wristwatch and smiled. He decided to follow Shen Mayu's style today for the sake of 'No More DPs' and woke up early. He helped his Mother cook breakfast and left right on 7:30 AM.
Azaki is grateful that he's a decent cook in his last life that his Mother doesn't seem to notice something amiss.
His walk to school didn't take long. Once he reached the school grounds, the janitor and a couple of students greeted him. He greeted them back with the sunny smile he'd been practicing all night long.
Seems like it's a bit strong because they kept closing their eyes and murmuring, "Blessed..."
I know right?, Azaki chuckled mentally. Shen Mayu's smile is really too strong. Even he was attacked last night.
He finally reached Class 3-5.
As soon as he arrived he's surrounded by his classmates. Azaki, who is an introvert, felt overwhelmed for a second but he steeled himself and greeted them with the same smile.
He went with the usual routine in his mind of responding politely and listening to their chatters.
One completely caught his attention though.
"I hear there's a transfer student from Europe!! Can you imagine that? Woah!"
Azaki turned to the speaker, a girl with short black hair. "Europe?"
She nodded eagerly, "I know right? It's rare that we get a transfer student at this time if the year. And from a place that far too."
'No, i meant Europe existed here?'
Azaki was in shock when the girl continued her chatters.
Azaki decided that he'll study the world map a bit more closely rather than skimming over it and say 'Nah it's another world, chances are Europe and friends doesn't exist'
No it existed!
This was his oversight. He'll fix it later.
Azaki quickly fixed his confused expression and laughed, "Do you know what they look like?" he asked the girl from earlier.
The girl laughed nervously, "Sadly i didn't see them. But i heard from Mr. Tang that they are very talented! Are we gonna get another God?!"
The girl then covered her mouth when the others stared at her. "I-i'm so—"
Azaki chuckled, he reached out to pat her shoulder, "It's okay. You can't help it but be curious. I'm also curious after all!"
Then they laughed alongside him.
Soon after, the bell rang. Every student scrambled to their seats. The door opened and a middle aged man with black hair walked in holding what it seems to be books.
He dropped those books on top of his table, creating a loud 'Bang!' that startled the whole classroom.
"I'm not going to skirt around the topic and make it suspenseful. Hey, come in, newbie."
Azaki raised an eyebrow at the man's words.
The door once again opened. But this one a tall boy entered with confidence in his steps, chin raised that made him look more regal than arrogant. If the word Prince turned into a human, it would be him.
Azaki widened his eyes. He had to hold in his need to whistle at the transfer student. Mentally berating himself that, that is not something Shen Mayu would do.
Soft black hair that swayed with the wind, peach blossom eyes curved due to the boy's smile and finally his bright blue orbs.
Azaki suddenly knew what it meant to be falling in love at first sight because if this is not love then what is?
He realized that the class stared at the boy, entranced. Azaki cringed at both himself and the rest of the class because they're gawking at the boy right now like he's some kind of a zoo animal. So Azaki blinked the glitters away.
"Hello, My name is Jillian Siegfried. You can call me Jill. I recently moved from Europe, but i've spent my childhood here in S City! Pleasure to meet you" he bowed towards the class.
A second later Azaki realized no one is clapping because they're too entranced! They are still in that glittery shoujo-y world!
Azaki coughed and clapped.
That broke the spell and everyone began clapping.
"You can sit next to... How fortunate it seems like the seat behind Mr. Shen is empty. Mr Shen?"
Azaki flinched when his temporary name was called. He quickly raised his hand, "Here!"
"There, he's tall so you can see him."
"Many thanks, teacher."
Azaki lowered his hand as he felt his heartbeat getting wilder each step Jillian took. The boy only smiled at him and he felt like his heart is going to burst!
Azaki managed to compose himself and gave the other boy an equally dazzling smile.
Everyone: 'Why is the room so bright...?'
....
Lunch break came and Azaki thanked whoever above for giving him small mercies like this. That included having Jillian as a seatmate, because Azaki's going to be in a good mood so dealing with the bastards from Jielan will be a piece of cake.
He sighed when he remembered them again.
"What's wrong?" asked a voice beside him.
Right, he and Jillian were walking to the cafeteria together. Azaki offered Jillian to tour the school with him and Jillian accepted so here they are.
"Nothing. Anyways it can be overwhelming with the stares, so if you're uncomfortable with it we can go to the cafeteria at another time."
Jillian hummed, "No, i'm okay. I heard the food here are to die for."
"Well it's not something you'd lose your life over but it's worth it!"
They both chuckled.
This view is just too much for the people around them apparently and many had nosebleeds that day.
When they reached the cafeteria, eyes quickly fell on them. Of course who wouldn't look at two handsome guys conversing with eachother, standing side by side and laughing so merrily like that?
One is someone familiar with his shoulder length red hair and a large grin AKA their Male God. Another one is someone completely new with black fluffy hair and bright blue eyes.
They are both approximately 180cm tall so the people in the room can't help but think;
'Did our school became a photoshoot ground? Where are the cameras?'
"Hey, do you want anything? My treat since it's your first day." asked Azaki. Seeing that he already took out his wallet, Jillian couldn't refuse and eventually retracted his hand that went to grab his own wallet.
"Anything. Maybe you can recommend something?"
"Okay. Auntie, can we have two Tonkatsu—" Azaki then whipped his head towards Jillian, "You're not a vegetarian right?"
Jillian shook his head.
"Do you abstain from pork?"
Jillian once again shook his head, "I can pretty much eat anything. Don't worry." he waved his hand casually.
Azaki nodded he turned towards the patient Auntie and smiled, "Two Tonkatsu and—"
"Apple Juice please"
"Two Apple Juice."
Azaki then paid the food. He grabbed the table number given by the Auntie and looked around for any signs of Jillian. He found the guy fairly near the last food stand and walked there.
"You, are you a Ninja? I didn't notice you were gone back there." Azaki took a seat in front of Jillian and scoffed when he heard Jillian answered, "A damn good one."
"Hold it there, my guy." Azaki chuckled. Jillian only replied with a mocking smile. Relief washed over Azaki because he felt his smiles are not fake this time and it's hard to fake a smile even if it's just for 3 hours. And with Jillian, Azaki found himself to instinctively smile at everything he does or say.
'C'mon Azaki, get a grip. Just because you haven't had crushes since elementary school doesn't mean you can have your school boy crush right here. Embarrassing.'
While Azaki was busy scolding himself, Jillian was busy fiddling with his phone. "Shen Mayu—"
Azaki snapped out of his thoughts, "Call me A—Mayu. Call me Mayu. Shen Mayu is too mouthful."
"Okay then, Mayu. What's this about a school festival?"
Azaki squinted at Jillian's phone who showed the homepage of their school's website. When you enter it's decorated with confettis and the word 'School Festival' is Highlighted using a red font.
Azaki wouldn't lie. If he didn't know what it meant he would've assumed someone died or something. Azaki thinks they needed a new graphic designer.
"Oh that. It's usually held near the time where Graduation is held. It's to refresh and play with the seniors that are going away!"
Azaki explained enthusiastically. Although deep inside he felt indifference, he had taken account of Shen Mayu's feelings about this School Festival.
Azaki looked up at Jillian's 'o' expression towards his explanation. He then opened his mouth to say something but the Auntie came with their food so he couldn't find it in himself to drive the topic away from Festival to maybe 'Why did you move here at this time of the year?' because Azaki knew Jillian probably wanted to keep some things secret and it's not like they're close anyway.
"I really missed this. In Europe, the Tonkatsu there doesn't have this kind of taste." Jillian grinned at the warm Tonkatsu in front of him.
"Tonkatsu is S City's specialty after all, let's dig in."
Azaki was ready to take a bite when he saw Jillian putting his hand together with a serious expression.
'Is he praying?'
When Jillian was done, he looked up and smiled helplessly at Azaki's questioning gaze. "I'm thanking the God for this food. Let's dig in."
Azaki nodded.
He didn't bother asking Jillian about it because they were eating and chatting quite happily with a few strangers talking to them. Azaki didn't mind them, they're here to sneak a peek at their Male God and the possible new Male God.
Before they knew it, Lunch was over and Azaki was full. He decided to make use of their walk back to the classroom as an exercise though.
Overall, Azaki would rate this first day experience a solid 9/10. Largely because of Jillian's appearance. The annoying fangirls that tried to create a 'meet-cute' with him or hug him contributed to the loss of that one point.n
He can't wait for the Jielan fiasco after school later.
Unconsciously, Azaki lets out a small evil smile that is hidden by the book he 'read' and Jillian managed to catch it before it goes away completely.
