I open the window then I jumped while intending to search for all the answerers I'm needing by myself since I already believe that no one but me would satisfy my curiosity.
I took my way back to the hall where it all started, then I started searching for anything that would lead me to the wolf from that day. The thing was that I didn't find what I was searching for. Instead, I found myself roaming around bodies and ashes. Bodies of dead werewolves, and ashes of dead vampires.
I sort of started feeling pain spreading out from my heart, toward my entire body. It was all because of my father. All those who are dead today have nothing to do with all of this.
Great kings search for peaceful solutions for their subjects. Yet, my father chooses the easiest way to deal with his issues – violence. He granted the plant, and now the alpha boy is the one to make sure that this plant grows.
Lost in my thoughts I was that I didn't notice a wolf running toward me. Of course, it was too late when I did. These creatures are known for their immense power and fast moves. So in no time, the wolf was already in front of me. I closed my eyes while sort of accepting my dark fate. I should've listened to my father, I should've stayed at the inside of the room. Perhaps then, I would've been lucky enough to see the lights of another day.
I waited for the pain, but there was no pain. Instead, someone spoke near to my ear.
"Your Highness! Follow me." I open my eyes to see one of the palace guards. By his side was, there was the wolf from a while ago, totally dead. His head was torn apart from its body.
You have no clue how thankful I was to see the guard by my side, yet part of my heart was hurting to see the dead wolf. Though he was trying to kill me, for some reason – I didn't want to see it dead.
I followed after the guard while trying to escape the death line I was locked in. Unlike what I've thought, he didn't take me back to the room inside of the palace; he was leading me out.
"Where are we going? Aren't we going back inside?" I asked him since I didn't get the reason why he was taking me outside.
"It's not safe inside anymore." I nodded my head, agreeing with what he said, and I followed him outside.
When we were outside, I thought that we made it, but it was an early thought. A painful scream escaped the vampire guard as a wolf jumped from nowhere and beheaded him.
Unable to fight for me - myself, I was, since I never did before. I was literally my father's little princess. Never do anything for myself. I've had maids to feed me, and others to dress me. Guards to secure me and fight for me, though I've never really faced danger. Without those people in my life, I'm unable to do a thing for myself.
The moment my eyes spotted the dead vampire, I wanted to run for my life, since I know I can't fight for myself. Yet, my body was frozen by the one and only scent I could never forget about. He was right behind me, I'm sure about that. About the wolf who attacked the vampire I was following, he was nowhere to be seen.
I took my time while turning around to face the wolf boy. After all, I don't know him yet, and I sort of don't want to end up like the dead vampire.
The first thing I noticed when I faced him was that he was a boy no more. Instead, he was a divine-looking man. Unlike the other beasts that took part in the battle, he was in his human form.
His eyes were everything I needed to forget who I am, and what situation bounded us. I was in this world no more. Instead, my eyes were diving inside of his soul.
I was able to see anger through his eyes. Still, that wasn't all. There was a hint of softness that was fighting above.
Part of me wanted to trust him, believing that love does not always win. Still, there was another part that was shouting deep inside for me to run.
I wasn't the only one fighting against options. He seems to be drinking from the same cup as me. His eyes were changing from black to blue, and blue to black. Until it was totally black.
A furious growl runs out of him followed by a warning. "Mate … Run!"
I took a step back, still not feeling my feet before I was finally able to register what was going on. I breathed in and out while trying to regain my last pieces of courage.
"Why should I run? And from who?" I asked him.
Based on his inhuman voice, I don't think that the human was the one in control – it was his beast (wolf) that was communicating with me.
"Mate … Danger … Run!" He shouted before his eyes were blue again. I can not deny how divine were his eyes. Still, they hold much of anger that screams nothing but danger. Before he was able to come up with any sort of move, I found myself running as fast as I could, leaving him shouting behind me.
"You can't run forever… I will find you and make you pay for it all."
Of course, I was faster than him since he was only following in his human form. His wolf refuses to help him to hunt me, which I was grateful for.
When he was out of my sight, I felt sort of relieved. I lay down under a tree, then I faced the moon while thinking about what had just happened. Hs wolf calls me a mate and sort of gives a vibe of an imprint thing. But how is it possible? I am a vampire, and he's a wolf. Add to that I'm nothing more than a tool he wants to use - to get revenge out on my father.
From his point of view, I can get from where his hatred comes from. My father caused his own death. Yet, I have nothing to do about it, and even if I can. Do you think I would do anything that harms my own father and people?
Lost in my thoughts I was, when I heard someone approaching me. I stand still, taking my guard, not knowing who am I going to face until my eyes meet a familiar face.
