After setting the food in the store, it was time for the important test. He closed the app and went to steam again to look for another game. He chose to download a few different ones. Some were RPG Shooters, while others were some kind of Survival game with factories to build or dinos to hunt. Others were other kinds of kingdom-building games with different settings.
A few were ready after a short while, while for others he would have to wait until tomorrow. The first game started. And well nothing happened. He opened the app on the Phone to be able to see the update on the app at the same time. And in the world tab, he found a small hidden text saying: one out of one, indicating that one world was the max at the moment. As a result, he was a bit bummed but still one was something for now. He stopped the downloads and went to bed.
The following two days he went to work and after he ate and played the game. During this, he progressed quite a bit inside the game and started to sell more and more Things. His balance in gold coins rose and rose, eventually hitting one gold coin and still rising every hour. At some point, he tried to place more shops in hopes of more people being able to buy at the same time, which came and his hopes were not disappointed.
After the second day, he had a fully surrounded fort with ballistics and catapults stationed on towers integrated into the wall surrounding the important part of his "kingdom".
At this time he got attacked by a yellow dragon, spying fire on the buildings located further out. He got a notification, telling him about what was going on in-game. Luckily it was the weekend so he went on his pc and commanded his troops, mainly the archers to start shooting. The siege weapons could act on their own and were doing the most damage to the dragon. As the dragon died it collapsed on a house and was later harvested. Tim had his thoughts sway to the game this all originated from and all the things that changed, which also included the harvesting of the dragon.
As the harvested goods entered the storage space a long-awaited notification appeared, which put a smirk on his face. The dragon parts and loot gained from defeating the pirates that would come at a later stage were used to upgrade the App to hold more planets. The first dragon core was offered to the app and the first ingredient needed for a level up was taken care of. Now Tim only needed the core of a red dragon and the key dropped by the pirates.
Tim: "What could be done with the dragon core?", "Shit I didn't read the description before submitting it."
The dragon bones and hide could be used to make higher-grade weapons and the meat was used to strengthen the soldiers, whose single-person stats could be viewed as well as an average for all knights and archers separately. Things were looking good. The next dragon could be brought down with no major dangers but that was to be decided when it showed up. The civilization in-game had grown to a large city in the center with small settlements scattered around it. The map had no more room to place houses on the land. Now the only thing left was to build a city on water, with houses on platforms build from wood and stone, like the old stilt houses only a bit newer in style. To have enough food a few houses on land had to be replaced with fields and how far the people would carry the food had to be counted, before placing the storage houses for food, so no food would go to waste. This happening was strange as after the wheat was brought in it normally had an expiration date of a few years in the future but what could one do in the end it was all still a game.
The next dragon and the pirates quickly came, with the speed on the highest. A Year in the game was over after just an hour in real life. The dragon was defeated easily and the strengthening of the soldiers helped in defending against the stronger pirates. The first time there was some kind of difficulty as the foot soldiers had to be separated under their every commander, to fight against the many larger and smaller groups of pirates, that came with their ships.
The pirate ships were destroyed by the soldiers, with made Tim sad as he had hoped for them to be able to be used as a battleship because the ships he could build were for transport only. But at the moment he had no kind of control over this and could only watch as arrows and sword hits landed on the ships, widdling at its hp. He hoped in the future with the next maps/worlds to come he would have more means of interfering and deciding what happened in the world and on the planet.
