"Liam you're being ridiculous!" I snapped. Maxine came over and stood by me, looking confused. Liam rushed out of the store, retreating to the left wing of the mall and Peirce left as well, walking in the other direction. Not knowing what to do, I stayed with Maxine who was dumbfounded. "What happened?" she asked puzzled. "I don't even know, but I probably was too harsh on Liam." I sighed, slinking down on a bench in the store.
"What do you think I should do?" I asked. "Well I don't know, but I think Liam is upset." Maxine sat down next to me, looking at the floor in front of her. "Well, this is a bust." I groaned, laying my head down on Maxine's shoulder. "Yeah well I guess there isn't a dull moment when we hang out." She laughed. "I think you should go talk to him." Maxine said, facing me. "Yeah, you're probably right. I'll regret it later if I don't anyway." I sighed, briskly standing up.
When I made my way to the front, I spotted Liam about to enter his car and held him close from behind, not letting him go. "I-I'm sorry." I whispered. "You like him, don't you?" His voice broke. "Wh-what, no I don't." I let him go and he turned to face me. "Arabella, you have never been a good liar." Liam frowned and got in his car. "But I'm not lying." I said unsure.
"It's obvious you're jealous. I saw it before we even got here." He shrugged it off and attempted a smile, but he couldn't hold it long before it wore off.
All I could manage to say was "What?" before he pulled out of the parking lot, driving off. Leaving me with things I tried to keep under the surface and not think about, tears came dripping down my cheeks. I fell to my knees on the concrete confused. Someone came outside and sat next to me, it was Maxine. There wasn't much to say, so she held me close and let me cry.
