by simple accident"

I've been avoiding any contact with Adrian, I switched my classes so I don't have him and I rarely pass him in the halls, I decided this after his lie. Alya understood and let me be, I got into classes with Chloe and just spent time learning.

Anthony was planned to come to Paris this week, my parents offered him a room downstairs in the bakery and since his mom is very strict about school he'll be going to my school for a while. I'm currently changing to go meet up with Juleka and Rose since they invited to hang out on boat, I accepted and put on a short red dress.

I started walking to my destination when I got a call from Anthony.

"Hello?," I laugh.

"Guess where I'm at?," Anthony giggled like a schoolgirl as I hear a bunch of ruckus from the other line.

"I don't know where?"

"Guess who's in Paris?!"

"Wait-," I stop in my tracks and look at the date of my phone.

"But your not supposed to come till Friday"

"Well I came today so- but your parents wanted surprise you since you've seemed down for a while now and they booked an earlier flight for me, what you don't miss me?," he teased.

"Of course I do- let me just text my friends that I'll be late to her house and I'm on my way to the airport to pick you up," I laughed lightly.

I turn around and call a taxi before I bring my phone back up to my ear as I sit down.

"Do you think I can hang out with you and your friends? I mean what am I gonna do at your house beside eat all of your pastries," Anthony sighed.

"Yeah that's probably a good idea let me just text Juleka real quick and ask," after sending a quick text and after Juleka saying it was fine I went back on the call as I hear Anthony complain about the airport being packed.

"Geez why is it so full, there are a bunch of girls are age yelling from the front of the airport," he yelled.

"Don't worry I'm pulling up," I look out the window to see Adrian saying goodbye to his father, my eyes widen realizing why there were so many girls.

"Crap," I mumbled.

"What?"

I sigh annoyed and open the door proudly.

"You can do this Marinette," Tikki cheered.

I get out and quickly walk past the group of girls before walking around the airport looking for Anthony.

"Where are you?," I asked.

"I'm sitting down on a chair close to the entrance"

I end the call before looking around more and finding him drinking a latte, I walk slowly behind him and jump on his shoulders.

"Anthony!," I laughed.

"I could've died, I seriously could've died Marinette," Anthony sighed as he touches his chest.

"I missed you," I smiled down at him.

"I missed you to but let's not do that again cupeesh?"

"Eh I don't know maybe," I shrugged.

"Let's go champ, I'm ready to drop off all my luggage at your house and spend time with you," Anthony got up and put his arm around me before pulling me in his chest.

"I'm glad I get to spend time with you," he laughed.

It felt good to have someone on your side that makes you feel like you can do anything in the world, Anthony always lifted up my spirits, he made me feel like I am truly important, as Marinette.

"Me to," I mumbled.

After making it around Adrian and his fan girls we reached home in a matter of minutes, saying a quick hello and thank you to my parents we were off to Julekas boat on my moped as we sang our favorite song 'Space Song' by beach house out loud.

"I missed these rides on this old thing," Anthony laughed.

I hum happily.

As we pull up to Julekas I get off the bike and skip happily on the boat seeing Rose setting up the stage as a few of our other friends set up snacks on a table. Rose looks up and squeals before running up to me and engulfs me in a hug.

"You made it!"

"I wouldn't miss this performance for the world plus I haven't had the time to hang out with 2 of my favorite girls," I smiled as Juleka gets into our hug.

"You look so pretty Marinette," Juleka smiled.

"Not as pretty as you," I smiled.

Anthony nudges me and I laugh lightly at his eagerness to meet my friends "the person nudging my arm off is my bestest teammate from China his name is Anthony."

"Wow," everyone started to gather around him.

"Hello," all my friends smiled.

I laugh lightly before getting a cup of punch and macaroon before sitting down while I watch Anthony get bombarded with questions, he looks at me for help while I just give him a thumbs up for good luck.

"Hey Mari, Juleka wants to know if you want to head up like old times and sing some songs with us," Rose smiled down at me.

"Uhm- I I don't k-know," I stuttered.

"Come on," Rose laughed and grabbed me before pulling me up on stage.

I look down at the small audience in front of me and see Anthony laughing at me.

I mouth help, and he just give me thumbs up.

A butthole that's what he is, I frown and shake my hands out of nervousness.

I turn away from the mic and cough lightly.

"You'll do great Marinette," Juleka and Rose smiled.

I grab onto the mic and take a deep breath before I hear Ivan start playing the drums.

'I don't know what to do without you

I don't know where to put my hands

I've been trying to lay my head down

But I'm writing this at 3am'

I sang softly and bounced my head.

'I don't need the world to see

That I've been the best I can be, but

I don't think I could stand to be

Where you don't see me'

I felt my eyes water at the lyrics.

I look up seeing Anthony with a worried expression.

"Alya, Nino, Adrian! You made it," I heard Sabrina scream lightly.

I look up quickly seeing Adrian looking at me with shocked eyes, my body becomes tense.

Anthony sends me a reassuring smile.

'On sunny days I go out walking

I end up on a tree-lined street

I look up at the gaps of sunlight

I miss you more than anything'

I missed Adrians and I's relationship, but I knew it was never gonna go back to normal, I knew but I keep dreaming one day it will.

But I'm tired of always getting disappointed.

I didn't realize I was staring at him as he came in view.

'I don't need the world to see

That I've been the best I can be, but

I don't think I could stand to be

Where you don't see me

And autumn comes when you're not yet done

With the summer passing by, but

I don't think I could stand to be

Where you don't see me'

I sniffed lightly covering up my emotions before everyone clapped and cheered for me, Anthony races to the stairs to help me down and pats my back softly.

"You'll be just fine champ," he smiled down at me.

"Thanks," I mumbled.

"Uh Marinette h-hey!," I turn to Adrian jogging up to Anthony and I.

"Hi"

"Uhm I didn't get to talk to you 2 weeks ago with you know what happen- and I haven't seen you around lately so-," Adrian mumbled.

"It's fine," I tried to turn around but he grabbed my wrist lightly.

"Did I do anything to upset you while I was Akumatized? I'm sorry if I did, and I'm sorry I blew up at you," He apologized.

Did he truly forget everything before he got Akumatized? No because he remembered him blowing up, I frown lightly and lied straight through my smile "it's cool I understand."

"Great, do you wanna sit next to me-"

"Sorry uhm-?," Anthony cut him off.

"Oh Adrian, I saw you, your the guy that fought against Marinette in the Taekwondo match-"

"Oh yeah sorry I forgot, but Marinette and I are about to head inside to chill out sorry," Anthony pulled me inside and sighed.

"Is he the reason why you've been down lately because ugh," Anthony groaned as I soon took his hand to lead him to sit down on a couch.

"What, no- look I've just been wonky lately because I'm having trouble again with being who I am," I sighed.

"What?"

"I've been losing myself since I came back to Paris, I just feel like I'm hiding again and not being true to anyone"

"Marinette-"

"I'm lying to everyone here Anthony and that guilt eats me up every moment of everyday," I held myself as Anthony pulls me into a hug.

"You don't have to tell me anything Marinette," he mumbled in my hair "I don't care if your lying to me because I know you have your reason for keeping whatever you have a secret."

"Remember not to our pressure on yourself," I nod and breathe in his cologne, I feel my body slowly relax at the smell of mint and vanilla.

Anthony's grip around me became tighter "you truly understand me Anthony."

"As do you."

Adrians POV

'I don't know what to do without you

I don't know where to put my hands

I've been trying to lay my head down

But I'm writing this at 3am'

I heard as we got closer to the boat.

"Sounds like Marinette," Alya smiled at me.

"I didn't know she sang?," I laughed lightly.

"I mean you were busy," Alya mumbled while Nino nudged her arm.

We walked on the boat "Alya, Nino, Adrian! You made it!," Sabrina yelled to us.

I look up on the stage to see Marinette in a red dress looking down at me.

'I don't need the world to see

That I've been the best I can be, but

I don't think I could stand to be

Where you don't see me'

She griped on mic as she turned to someone in the crowd to only see a guy giving her smile as she kept singing. I didn't realize that we were staring at one another while she sang.

'On sunny days I go out walking

I end up on a tree-lined street

I look up at the gaps of sunlight

I miss you more than anything'

My heart skipped a beat as she sang a bit louder.

'I don't need the world to see

That I've been the best I can be, but

I don't think I could stand to be

Where you don't see me

And autumn comes when you're not yet done

With the summer passing by, but

I don't think I could stand to be

Where you don't see me'

Before I can take a step towards her to help her down the same guy from earlier beats me to it, I jog over to them.

"Uh Marinette h-hey!," I stuttered as I got a better look of how beautiful she looked face to face.

"Hi" she mumbled.

"Uhm I didn't get to talk to you 2 weeks ago with you know what happen- and I haven't seen you around lately so-," I said.

"It's fine," I don't know why but I grabbed her wrist softly before she can walk away.

I don't why she's been acting like this, why has she been so distant, I thought we were finally getting closer again so why?

"Did I do anything to upset you while I was Akumatized? I'm sorry if I did, and I'm sorry I blew up at you," I apologized

"It's cool I understand."

"Great, do you wanna sit next to me-," I tried to offer but got cut off.

"Sorry uhm-?," the guy from beside her spoke.

"Oh Adrian, I saw you, your the guy that fought against Marinette in the Taekwondo match-," I remembered.

"Oh yeah sorry I forgot, but Marinette and I are about to head inside to chill out sorry, Anthony by the way," before he pulled her inside leaving me alone.

A few minutes pass till Alya asked me to grab some drinks from inside.

I was about to push the door open of the boat to grab some drinks when I see Marinette hugging Anthony, I don't know why, but my heart fell at the sight of her being in someone else's arms.

"You truly understand me Anthony," Marinette sighed as she gripped onto him.

"As do you," he snuggled more into her neck.

I shouldn't be getting jealous over just a friend, if someone likes her shouldn't I be happy for her? Shouldn't I feel excited for her that she found someone that 'understands' her?

But I wasn't happy.

I was devastated.

I close the door before I was met with Alya looking at me confused.

"The drinks Adrian?," Alya reminded me.

"Couldn't find them," I shrugged and walked away.

After that Anthony and Marinette came out, Anthony had his arm around her as they both joked with our friends. I couldn't hate or dislike Anthony because he was a nice and funny guy, I caught myself laughing at some of his joke at points. Anthony got a phone call and walked away from the group, I don't know what led me to follow him but I did.

"No," Anthony sighed "I haven't told her, and I'm not gonna tell her just yet."

He paused and I saw him go down.

"This will break her heart, I can't tell her now."

"She's going through something right now, I don't want to bother her- can you just drop it?!," he screamed lightly.

"Just drop it please," he started to cry lightly.

"I don't want her to be in pain anymore."

Having guilt I walk away to find Marinette gone from everyone.

"Where's Marinette?," I asked Rose.

"She got off the boat, she got a little sick," she giggled.

I can finally talk to her.
