Glitches

"Imogennnnnnnn, I'm tireddddddd." Turilla whined. "Can I sleeepppp?"

The two of them had just left the capital and were almost at the entrance of the forest. The view of the city was very magnificent early in the morning and Imogen wanted to watch it in peace and quiet but had missed out on the fact that if Turilla was woken up by force and not by herself she would get very whiny and pouty.

"Ok, you can take a small nap." Imogen sighed. "I'll wake you for lunch."

While Turilla slept peacefully despite the uncomfortable wagon that rocked back and forth on the bumpy pathway that led into the forest, Imogen opened the window to gaze out and feel the cool, refreshing forest air. Although they had just entered the forest, Imogen watched out as the trees swayed in the wind while sunlight bounced from each leaf, birds, and butterflies fluttering around made her feel warm inside.

The carriage came to an abrupt stop that made Imogen jerk from her seat and Turilla rolled off her seat, falling onto the hard floorboards of the carriage with a hard 'thud'.

"What happened?" Turilla asked, rubbing her eyes with a yawn.

"Apologies mi'ladies, it seems that I have…" the carrigae man said with an uneasy face. "I- I seem to have… h- hit a- "

"What is it? What did you hit?" Imogen asked standing up to come out of the carriage.

Turilla was already out, the first one to always try and take action. Nothing peculiar had happened to the carriage of the driver. It seemed weird but ever the driver saw at the front had spooked him big time. Feeling concerned for him, Imogen suggested taking a rest.

"Mr. carriage driver, I think it's best if we take a small rest for a little while. " she said with a smile.

To which the man frantically nodded before falling under a tree in exhaustion.

"Turilla, keep your guard up and watch out," Imogen whispered instructions while taking out the snacks that the children at the orphanage had prepared for them.

The two girls sat under a tree watching the beauty of the forest unfold in front of their eyes, eating their favorite snacks. Turilla shot her eyes towards or flinched at any sound. The driver seemed to have fallen asleep making that the only adult and their defense there to look after them, gone.

A bunny hopped out of a bush and made its way to Imogen and rested on her. Turilla quickly got up from where she sat and scanned the area. Bringing her fists towards her face in a blocking position and stood next to Imogen who took her gloves from her back pocket, wearing them she carefully placed the bunny aside.

"What is it?" Imogen asked nervously.

"It is really weird…" Turilla muttered to herself. "Animals don't like you enough to come up to you much less sleep on your lap…"

It had taken Imogen a while to process what was just told to her. She blinked a few times before slapping Turilla on the shoulder.

"You meany." She said with a pout. "Nobody is going to like you if keep that attitude."

"Ouchie, you don't have to hit me so hard!" Turilla said out loud while rubbing the place Imogen hit. "But seriously though I'm not lying, something really up."

"How can you tell? Gut feeling as usual?" Imogen said.

She quickly got up from where she sat and stood beside Turilla before taking her wand in one hand and her tiny book of spells in the other. Seconds later the sleeping bunny made a beeping sound and it started glitching. Like it was lagging, its white fur a tiny pink nose became pixelated. Undone and disconnected with red and blue spiraling around its body, allowing it to look like it was an inanimate object.

"Oh god, Turilla did you see that?" Imogen asked clinging onto her best friend in fear.

Turilla put an arm in front of Imogen and moved her behind for protection.

A full minute had passed and the air was getting colder. It seemed that the sun was setting since the bright, yellow sunny morning was now quickly turning orange. The birds went away as the bats came and the glitching bunny had disappeared without a trace.

"Truilla? What just happened?" Imogen started to shiver in fear. "How did it become night so suddenly?" She quivered behind Turilla.

"Imo…" Turilla whispered. "Listen carefully, I want you to stay behind me the whole way while I check around kay?"

Imogen frantically nodded assuring Turilla that she would. Turilla took a cautious step forward when the ground under her started to glitch and lag with blue and red, making it look pixelated like what happened previously with the bunny.

Woosh~ the two girls went getting devoured by the ground they were standing on a moment ago. The fall down was fast and pitch-black while their screams echoed around them. When Turilla noticed the ground getting closer she wrapped her arms around Imogen and cushioned her fall.

To Turilla's surprise, the ground was very soft like the cotton she wished to touch during walks with Imogen that were downtown. She never knew what it felt like and didn't want to experience it because of the fear, until now. The feeling of cotton was so much better than she imagined, it was so much better than the leather she wore or the hard bed she knew slept on.

"Welcome to my humble abode, your- Ms. Turilla." said a voice in front of her.

The darkness made it impossible to know what or who spoke to her nor did it allow her to see her best friend's face. Fearing what was to come next, Turilla shut her eyes tightly and prayed before the voice spoke again.

"Don't be a stranger to me Ms. Turilla~" It slurred its words in an inhumanly manner while it snapped something that sounded like fingers.

And after so stood in front of Turilla was a crystal cave that lit up the whole place. Turilla awed its beauty and magnificence when her eyes met the holder of the voice, it was her. It wore the same pink hair and the same clothes, the exact same as Turilla.
