Mo sneaked out of the house after dessert when everyone was too full to notice her disappearing. She made her way to the backyard which was filled with her grandma’s ever growing collection of plants. She took a seat on the bench, relieved to finally have some peace and quiet. Dinner had been a nosy and loud affair that was in reality just an interrogation.
She loved her family. She missed them dearly when she was away at CIT. She was always excited to go home and see them, but she couldn’t deny the fact that they drove her insane. They had no concept of personal boundaries and wanted to know every detail of her life.
She couldn’t imagine bringing anyone home to meet them. She tried to picture Blaze sitting at the dinner table and talking to her parents. She couldn’t quite see it clearly in her mind. Blaze felt out of place in her childhood home, in her lola’s garden, and she didn’t know why.
