Chapter 40: Incineration

A few days later, Mo was back at the CIT campus. It was a brand new year and another semester. She couldn’t wait to attend class again. Jennie was already in their room, reading over her numerous notebooks.

Her roommate was always buying notebooks. Jennie seemed to go through them quickly. Mo had been gifting her notebooks and pens which Jennie appreciated. Both of them liked to color code their notes.

“Hi, Jen.” Mo put down her bags on her bed. “How were the Alps?”

Jennie had told her that she was going skiing with her family for winter break. Mo thought she would enjoy it. All that ice for Jennie’s cold, cold heart. Her roommate had a disdain for warm weather that completely contrasted Mo.

“Hanging in there despite climate change,” Jennie replied. She paused at the sight of a pink handbag on Mo’s bed. “Is that a Birkin?”

“It’s a Christmas present from Blaze.”

Jennie came over and picked up the handbag, assessing it. “Is Hart trying to buy your love now?”
