Chapter 36: I Really Am Princess Aliahanna

ALIAH

Although Megan's words had held no threat, Aliah's stomach clenched and she felt nauseous. Trying to distract herself from what was coming, Aliah took a sip of tea and looked around the room. Although it was morning the curtains were still drawn. She rose and went over to open them.

'Please, don't,' Megan said. 'If you want to look out, peak through the gap, but we don't want people looking in here.'

Suddenly Aliah did not want to see what was outside. Megan's tone of voice told her it was nothing good.

'Are they still looking for the boy?' Aliah asked as she paced round the room.

'They were out all last night,' Able said from the doorway. 'In the main town mostly. The wizard is sleeping in a room upstairs now. But the local soldiers and his hired help are doing a quick sweep outside the walls in the new town now.'

'Oh.' Aliah sat down again, her appetite mostly gone.

'He will be safe,' Megan assured her. 'He is with a friend of ours.'
