Chapter 68: Stealing Away

SEAMUS

Closing his travelling pack, Seamus tightened the straps and tested them before ensuring his bedroll was securely attached to the side. Even with all the arguing and planning, they had managed to get some sleep before their pre-dawn departure time to catch the morning tide. His parents had come and gone, saying one last farewell before the group departed. They were to hold to the story that Seamus and Aliah had been taken ill with a strange sickness and the doctor had quarantined most of their group to prevent spreading the illness. Only Martha would be admitted to their rooms to bring food and medicines. They hoped that would give them a six-day before anyone raised serious questions about their whereabouts.
