Chapter 73: Meeting The Council

SEAMUS

Following Caraig from the guest rooms through to the main cave was almost like being in a dream. The entrance on the inside was just as ornate as the one outside, framing a picture of the setting sun. There was a walkway running around each of the three stories, enabling access to the numerous doorways they could see.

Caraig explained each opening took you to an area called a commune, which usually housed an extended family from a number of generations. They would look similar to their guest commune, but the larger, main room would have also cooking facilities and a lounging area. Most families cooked and ate together, but had separate areas for sleeping and privacy. The rooms branching from the main area would often contain a single family and were large enough to be broken into smaller room using curtains.
